Kalume rules out retiring after Nkana departure

Midfielder Sydney Kalume insists he is continuing to play football after his departure from Nkana.

Kalume resigned from Nkana this week after a two and half year memorable spell in Wusakile.

The ex-Zesco United, Zanaco and Lusaka strongman said he will soon announce his next move after leaving Nkana.

“Definitely I am continuing to play football. You will know my next move by next week,” Kalume said.

As team captain, Kalume led Nkana to winning their 12th FAZ Super League title after a 12-year drought in 2013.

He further guided Nkana to the group phase of the 2014 CAF Confederation Cup.

“I am happy to leave Nkana after these achievements that cannot be deleted by anyone,” Kalume said.

Meanwhile, Kalume saw little action at Nkana in the 2014 season as he was usually used as a second half substitute.
