PATRIOTIC Front (PF) president Edgar Lungu yesterday held a closed-door meeting with six European Union (EU) ambassadors and assured them that there will be no policy shift if he is elected President in the January 20 poll.

The PF leader met British High Commissioner James Thornton, Finnish Ambassador Timo Olkkonen, Italian ambassador Pier Mario Dacco, EU head of delegation Gilles Hervio, Germany Ambassador Bernd Finke and Swedish counsellor for economic and political affairs Klas Ljungberg for an hour at Mr Hervio’s residence.

Mr Lungu arrived at Mr Hervio’s residence when he answered a breakfast call extended to him by the EU head of delegation at exactly 07:54 hours in the company of Kaiser Zulu, a former permanent secretary at State House.

“We assured the diplomats that foreign investment shall remain secure here when we take over Government,” Mr Lungu told journalists shortly after the meeting.

He said dialogue between Government and investors, especially those in the mining sector will continue so that a win-win situation is achieved.

Mr Lungu said security, rule of law and good governance will be sustained.

Mr Lungu also said the fight against corruption will remain a priority.

He warned that abuse of public resources will not be tolerated to ensure scarce resources reach the vulnerable.

Mr Lungu also said infrastructure development will remain a priority and that agriculture and mining will be attended to as well.

Mr Lungu said his Government will also tackle poverty and ensure that Zambians live dignified lives.

Mr Lungu, who is also Minister of Defence and doubles as Minister of Justice assured EU diplomats that dialogue between foreign investors, especially mining owners shall continue so that both Zambia and the investors can reach a “win-win” point.

According to a statement issued by the PF media team, Mr Lungu assured that unity shall be encouraged because he embraces both opposition and ruling party members so that Zambia’s peace can be maintained and to further strengthen the ruling party.

Mr Lungu also said crop and economic diversification will be encouraged under him so that the economy can grow beyond the current rate in order to reduce poverty and increase job creation

He expressed confidence that he will win the January 20 poll based on the “massive” infrastructure roll-out the PF embarked since it took over government in 2011, and also largely based on the overwhelming support he is receiving from within and outside PF.

The EU delegation said it is grateful that Mr Lungu was able to take time off his busy schedule to discuss with them matters of national importance as cooperating partners.

    • I think Ndobo was right, that black suit was Sata’s. Its not fitting Edgar Lungu. I used to like Edgar, but not as president alangufwisha uluse.

    • Even the imperialists from the diplomatic community know who the next President is and that is Edgar C. Lungu..even the the satanic UPND cadres and ZWD bloggers know that PF is winning, all they want to do is cause confusion so as to fullfill the wishes of the UPND master Lucifer..
      ABASH SATANISM FROM UPND!!!

****VIVA EDGAR LUNGU 2015 AND 2016****

    • International Relations 101. These high-level meetups with Foreign Diplomats manifests confidence measure with confidence intervals in a candidate period. Brother HH should read the signs and wonders that brother EL is Zambia’s incoming head of State and Commander in-Chief period. Chosen by God he is transitioning well from a best Senior Minister supervising all establishments of the Defense and Security outfits to heading the nation. Its time for brother HH to start learning public service leadership 101 from brother EL.

    • I saw the footage of this meeting on DeadNBC, Edgar Vodka Lungu (EVL), the drunk disgraced lawyer that LAZ debarred for misappropriating clients money looked like a wet chicken. he appears to have 10 years older than his age and those wrinkles on the forehead , with uncombed hair look very bad. Nalibomfwilako no luse. HH 2015

    • More likely the terms of the “riot act” have been delivered in a “frank” and “business like language” by the EU.

Repetition of RB meeting with EU during campaign of 2011???

    • He has no leadership Qualities, Foreigners will take Zambia for a ride. Lungu is weak. try to follow the fo.olishness of Sata. No Plan and thinking things should fall in place by call of nature.

We need a true leader not what we have seen with PF so far. They should go.

    • Akainde thought suing Bishop Chomba will cleanse him of his satanic cult, it has actually backfired big time on him.

Bishop Chomba has actually augmented his position by giving more details on Akainde and his satanic involvement.

The best Akainde would have done is ignore chomba… But Akainde is pompus, vengeful, lacks humility and meekness.

Bishop Chomba has maintained his position and Akainde is now a cornered rat.

We say NO to a SATANIC CULT presidency in our Christian nation

Vote PF…. Vote Edgar C. Lungu on January 20, 2015

    • This was a closed door meeting. Lungu is telling lies. He was being cautioned not to cause violence once he loses. He was advised to quickly concede defeat. Remember what happened to RB in 2011.

  1. The main issue was VIOLENCE in PF, of which the man in black is not seeing.
And probably he had to testify about the RB’s rumors with the Nigerian connections.

  2. tell them lungu. we know you are the next president. People can’t just ignore what pf has done and still doing within 3 years of office. what is happening in terms of development has never happened in Zambia.

    Vote Edgar Lungu.

  3. THIS TELLS US THAT THE EU ARE IMPRESSED WITH THE PF POLICIES. FOR EDGAR TO PROMISE THEM “NO POLICY SHIFT”. THEN WHY WOULD THE OPPOSITION WANT TO SHIFT POLICY THAT IS OK TO THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY?

  4. I Beg to ask: What is UPND’s international policy? I have followed closely and i have heard nothing so far.. anyone enlighten me?

    • Bush politicians, do they even know about international policy. All they do is promise people that “Nshima” will be cheaper, and cry “don’t chase away investors” when they see government-investor issue comes up.. without those issues they got nothing concerning international policies bra!

  5. The President meet diplomats.
Go and meet diplomats on facebook HH. Ifintu ni Lungu ,I feel sorry for those who will vote HH. VOTE WASTED.

  6. BUT THE GUY IS IN GOVT HOLDING SEVERAL POSITIONS WHICH EVIDENTLY ARE AT WORK HERE.

LET HIM ALSO ATTEND TO THE PLIGHT OF MANY STUDENTS AT CBU AT THE VERGE OF NOT SITTING FOR THEIR SESSIONAL EXAMS DUE TO MOSTLY VERY HIGH UNPAID SCHOOL FEES. EXAMS START THIS MONDAY YET STUDENTS HAVE NOT DONE COURSE AND EXAMS REGISTRATION.

    • You are one of the bush voters too. No country exists independently without the international relations. One is president of a country as of the local people but international policy adversely affects the local “Nshima” people too, actually mostly the local well-being and country’s economy are directly proportional to the international relations. where would a poor country like zambia survive from without proper international policy. That local farmer you’re talking about would see no benefit of his farming without such.. u think he plants money or fertilizer?

  7. @Brian Monde
Whether you have foreign policy or not atleast you must have diplomatic et-equate – can you check the record of PF in the last 3 years – a disaster. To start with, make a survey on Zambians leaving outside on there impression as regards Zambian govt embracing their interests – its zero if not negative. It was common for the late president to embarace Zambians whenever he went to meet them in their foreign countries.

  8. Diplomates had to call/summon Lungu because he is representing the incumbate party. Calling an opposition leader would ve shown lack of respect for the party in Govt by the diplomates. Ending political violence is a major issue that was discussed.

  9. When are these EU diplomats gonna meet HH? I think his supporters can answer. Its an open secret that EL will win the next elections and with a big margin. Hakaivotela Humwine kuyabebele…… Zambians know who they want and EU diplomats have respected our choice. Its Edgar Lungu all the way……

  10. Europeans have good horse racing skills. They know how to pick a winner.

Grand National Winner on 20 January is ………yes, yes ……LUNGU.

    VOTE Lungu. president!

  11. EU Diplomats opninion & Mood poll is 100% of the time spot on. They understand our politics be it tribal or otherwise. They know EL will be the next President.
HH will now be begging to have a meeting with any diplomat even one from lesotho will do.

  12. Grade 7 leakage exam question 2022 paper:

The best example of an all time loser in Zambian Presidential Elections in the first two decades of the 21-st Century was?:
    A. Ngondo
    B. Chiluba
    C. Erick Chanda
    D. HH.
    E. Elias Chipimo

the best Answer is D. Those that will chose E will get half a mark.

  13. I have a feeling the EU ambassadors were telling Lungu to accept defeat gracefully and not cause trouble as he tried to do for Guy Scott.

  14. Election Guide 2015

    Edgar has won constituencies…

  15. Edgar changes ngwira lungu has won 64% of the votes seconded by HH

Its a true reflection of Edgar’s performance in 2015. Statistically simulated and proven with confidence interval of 95%

He has won constituencies far beetter than HH

That changes the scenario 65% is the win cast within a standard error of 5% and confidence interval of 95%

Its the way it will be an excel sheet constituency by constituency will be posted here due to space

Sorry for HH that’s true and congratulation to Edgar Changes Ngwira Lungu as the incoming president

Its a true reflection of 2015 and proved on all scenarios getting the mean deviation around those constutuencies with mean absolute deviation in characteristics confirming with ANOVA and other as lungu favourite at 65%

  16. Let’s go to play dats now as we watch football at nkoloma

Its confirmed. Edgar changwa Ngwira lungu is the incoming president. 2015

  17. A motor cade of PF counselors honking in Kitwe along shoprite. Street vendors shouting ichibwato chalitulika ni forward nomba. Count down HH 6th president.

  18. Obviously they were telling him to accept defeat than cause anarchy. Those diplomats are scared of their safety as well. They know PF is a violent party and therefore they should first tame the top leader who is EL who shall then share the message of peace to his militias. It is only EL who shall tell his supporters to be patient and not cause any violence after the defeat which is eminent in this case.

It is not a sign that EL has already won the election. The diplomats knows who is the next president. Michael Sata whilst in opposition also met with diplomats in 2008 and he lost the election. What happens he restrained his cadres from causing any violence.

Hope bloggers you have gotten my point.

In the picture EL looks frustrated.

  19. @OBATALA from Panga to Plank & Nostrils, I think if you took your comments to those who watch amagalu in Zambia, it could have made sense. Not here!

  20. if you look at the photo above and you don’t reason like Zambia Galu Watchers who are always in denial, you would know that the Game is Over!

  21. These Diplomats are ever on the ground,so they know who is more likely to win elections hence meeting and advising that candidate.in this case, they know that Edgar Lungu chances of winning are very high,so cry babies in UPND continue with your dreams.EDGAR LUNGU IS THE FAVOURITE TO REPLACE LATE SATA AT STATE HOUSE IN 10 DAYS TIME!GO PF GO!
