Zambians in diaspora have endorsed President Hakainde Hichilema of the UPND. In a meeting held Yesterday in Central London, Zambians from all walks of life and political parties (UPND,PF,NAREP,ADD and MMD) resolved to endorse the candidature of president Hichilema. They are convinced that HH is the only candidate with vibrancy, energy, knowledge and Commitment to liberate Zambia from its economic disasters.
At the same meeting, Zambians asked the UPND to seriously commit themselves to improving the lives of many Zambians. They asked the UPND to adhere to the following commitments or they risk being voted out of power.

Zambians in diaspora demand UPND to:-

  1. Deliver economic liberation and empower poor Zambians.
  2. Seriously commit on the dual Citizenship to help skills transfer.
  3. Pay the Farmers that have not been paid by PF Government up to now, since supplying maize in July 2014.
  4. Give poor student’s Bursaries and increase their meal allowances.
  5. Reduce the price fuel and mealie meal.
  6. Reduce the government spending on by-elections and direct such resources to improve health and education.
  7. Reduce the size of government unlike the present situation that has over 63 Ministers
  8. Improve Health facilities and buy modern diagnostic machines and Provide medicine in hospitals for Poor Zambians
  9. Pay back the loan of $7 Billion obtained in 3 years by PF Government
  10. Lower the cost of doing business
  11. Provide free education for majority of poor Zambians
  12. Remove wage freeze and employment freeze for suffering civil servants and unemployed youths in Zambia
  13. Create REAL jobs for Zambians and not jobs of rehabilitating roads.
  14. Last but not the least, Give Zambians a people driven constitution.

The real people who are endorsing HH are not even UPND members, we are from Heritage Party and The Poor People’s Party.

Seriously commit on the dual Citizenship to help skills transfer……for you to demand for dual citizenship means you have renounced your Zambian citizenship, how in the world are you going to vote for HH if you are nolonger a Zambian? Bwana PHD fimo fimo, come back to Zambia and see what the PF has done in three years:650 health posts, roads, secondary schools, universities, bridges e.t.c e.t.c.

Mweetwa Southern Province is not Zambia. HH wikl win in tonga land but Edgar Lungu will in all other provinces so please get back to reality.

    • I support my fellow diaspora brothers. Especially the issue of dual citizenship is way long overdue. Who wants to be permanently Zambia where they dont respect the rule of law? We deserve options. I left Zambia 17 years ago and Im glad that I did cause I would not have achieved anything had I stayed. I still come to visit every now and then. Its just fair to ask for dual citizenship so that everyone can decide where to stay and when to return home without any restrictions.

There are so many skills that we can bring back home if we not restricted. If HH wins, he must implement all these requests from the Zambians in diaspora.

    • this is irritating and propaganda at its worst. London does not have a cohesive group of Zambians who believe in the candidacy of hakainde. Stop masquerading as a representative group. LT you seem to luck journalistic integrate by not making an effort to investigate who these people are and what their motive is. A similar group led my a Dr. Musanje (tonga) in the US and his brother in law in Canada attempted to hoodwink us into believing Zambians in North America endorsed hichilema. these groups should just identify themselves as individual endorsing a candidate instead of purporting to represent everyone in London. this is pure rural idio.cy

    • PF minions, why do you like guessing who I am for sure. So in your small brains you think that I am this Larry Mweetwa. Please try again.

Any way whether I did attend the meeting or not, I strongly support HH for many reasons among which are those in Larry’s list. HH is the only candidate with a vision to move Zambia forward.

HH has something to show for it. How can Zambia settle for a failure Lungu and hope for the best from this incompetent person who has tried so many professions in which he has either been dismissed or disciplined for gross misconduct. Zambians should dismiss this Lungu.

Lungu as one Mushota puts it,is a disaster about to happen. Though PF constantly refute it, it will come to pass soon just as it did in Sata’s case who was as fit as a fiddle so PF told us.

  3. I am UPND, but this should have read “Some Zambians in the diaspora endorse Hakainde Hichilema” just to be fair. Why am I saying s? Because there are some Zambians in the diaspora who have endorsed Edgar Lungu, some have endorsed Never Mumba, etc. Moreover those guys are in the UK, are they telling us that they are also representing the views of Zambians in other countries the world over? This endorsement business is just gone mad now.

  4. JUST THE NAME “MWEETWA” SAYS IT ALL. HOW DO YOU DEFINE DIASPORA? AND ACCORDING TO THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS, HOW MANY ZAMBIANS ARE IN THE DIASPORA? AND OUT OF THIS NUMBER HOW MANY ATTENDED MWEETWA’S MEETING IN LONDON? THESE ARE VERY SIMPLE QUESTIONS. YOU COULD HAVE AS WELL SAID “12 ZAMBIANS LIVING IN LONDON HAVE ENDORSED HH” INSTEAD OF GIVING US SWEEPING STATEMENTS. THIS IS ALSO THE KIND OF METHOD BEING USED BY MUVI TV TO ARRIVE AT BOGUS CONCLUSIONS. THOSE SAME CHARACTERS SHOULD COME HOME TO VOTE AND NOT HIDE IN THE STREETS OF LONDON WITHOUT KNOWING HOW MUCH THE PF HAS DONE BACK HOME. THEY SHOULD NOT ONLY BE READING ZWD.

  8. This is nonsense. DIASPORA INCLUDES ANY ZAMBIAN CITIZEN WHO IS LIVING OUTSIDE ZAMBIA ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD OR SHOULD I SAY EARTH. I am in the diaspora and was not consulted and definitely not aware of this meeting of non entities. London is not diaspora and so the above headline is misleading. Seeing that all of us in the diaspora are disenfranchised and cannot participate in choosing leaders in Zambian elections, it is pointless belonging to all these London branches or Zambian political party groupings. WE DO NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE OUTCOME AS THE COMMON MAN WHO VOTES BACK HOME IN VILLAGES DO NOT READ THESE ON LINE BLOGS. From what I know the so called chairmen of these London based branches are failures here and hoping to gain a political appointment which never ever materialises.

  9. Shame on all illegal immigrant in the USA who have endorsed Edgar Lungu. Many of you chaps are just scavenging for food and you claim that you are happily staying abroad. I am a highly successful business man in the diaspora and I am proud to endorse HH. He is the only sober minded candidate who can steer the Zambian ship in the right direction. Most Zambians in the USA are illiterate working as aupairs or cleaners the few who are educated,I know have already endorsed HH. The PF has done nothing but bring misery to the people of Zambia. The whole party is a curse to Zambia. Perhaps Miles Sampa could have been a far much better candidate than Edgar Lungu. All the shallow minded people will continue to support EL. I am proud Zambian in diaspora and I want my country to develop.

Whites with Money are coming to Zambia to invest whilst most of these chaps are Economic refugees and Employees working for Muzungu. See you when i come for a rest after Edgar Wins i will give you details of the Hotel where i will stay after 23rd Jan.

    • Hey Mwine Zed, my assessment is that only people supporting Edgar Lungu are economic refugees because they are illiterates and dunderheads.when they die in these countries where they are, they are buried in un numbered graves. They are as foolish as Mr Edgar Kachasu is. I fully agreed with you that they cannot afford to buy a simple air ticket to get back home. They die like dogs. I even fail to identify with them when I meet them in streets when I go for work and holiday in many of these countries. Better for women because they turn into prostitutes. Haven’t you heard, one of Edgar Lungu’s support, a beautiful woman went in South African until she was caught stealing a client’s money. Shame on all poor diaspora Zambians supporting Lungu.

  23. I’m right now in Scotland at a University and have endorsed HH. I have managed to talk to my relatives to give HH the maximum votes needed to usher him into State House. He is the right candidate at the moment who can move Zambia Forward. Zambia right now is wallowing in abject poverty and need someone who can turn around the economy. HH team is best. He needs to include think tank in his cabinet and not just mere cadres we have in PF the likes of bena Jean Kapata, Chishimba Kambwili, Kampyongo etc. Those mentioned chaps and others have nothing to offer to the Zambian people. We need to see our country move from the doldrums of poverty to prosperity. HH should porch Given Lubinda from PF. The man is smart and has interest to serve the country.

There is NO such coherent groupings. Some of them like this writer are a bunch of Cons. Some of them like to present themselves as Zambian socialites but for their own benefit and to con UK whites that they are influential. Usually children of mediocre politicians or some faded fame.

This allusion to a grouping of ‘diaspora’ is nonsense! ZAMBIANS ARE APPALLING!

  26. Larry Mweetwa PhD candidate
    United Kingdom.

    ?????????????

I beg your pardon. I am/have NOT ENDORSED HH! Some of these UK Zambians are a bunch of fakes. I have lived in the UK since 1979, mostly London, and I can tell you that Zambians are a grotesque lot. They avoid each other, would never stick out for fellow Zambians or show interest in their well being. If you go to any event such as Independence celebrations, they stick in their own groupings and never open to their new friends attending. We made an effort for the 50 year Jubilee celebrations and went to mingle far out of London. We paid the organiser £35 each and we had to scrap around for some tuck as they served their known groups with no conscious of their friends they took money from.

For all those years, you should have at least opened a small business. You think it is a prestige to stay in London? You will be ashamed to see the cars those in Zambia are driving while you drive a vehicle bought from the srap yard at £100.00 shame on you the poor patriot. Just go home you will be better.

Pathetic nonsense. I don’t live from bins to mouth. My bank account shows different is proven. You are stupid gossip mangers that can not stand up in any court room to provide evidence for your social media rumblings.

What do you hope to achieve in making false outing social media statements on other people?

It’s pitiful that a man with a PhD can be so malicious and put out such misconstrued rubbish.

HH, UPND is a party for misfits, who think they are better than others therefore have right to intimidate others when they speak up. Who wants that? I am not impressed with this Guy no need to google him, he talks crap!

No one in PF has even explained why this travesty of our farmers suffering continues. ZAMBIANS BE CAREFUL UNDP IS A RABIED PARTY AS DAYS ARE DEAWING NEAR THEY WILL VICIOUSLY ACCUSE THIS INSTITUTION AND THAT. HANDLE THEM PROFESSIONALLY UNTIL IT GOES INTO ABBSSY ON 20 TH JAN.

  29. Mwine Munzi you are such a pathetic liar. Which air ticket are you talking about? You mean CR or Nsumi buses. How can you afford an air ticket if you are staying in a run down flat in Hillbrow? If you are brave send me your details I will give you a better Job. I have been staying in South Africa for 30 years. There are only a few Zambians who have better Jobs. I have been a friend of all Zambian high commissioners and yet you don’t even know them buy names. Leave it there, I don’t want to disgrace you. I have a Phd and I am running a very successful company, I have endorsed HH.

And really voice of malicious reason, who are you to go around in such a pompous manner?

Do you really think your earnings correlate to your right to vote or have an opinion on your democratic choices?

You have absolutely no intelligence despite your inane personal comments on others. For all that you show how Sh.I.tty your choices are. Even your well to do luck in life has not helped you in any way apart from create a person with no conscious or dignity in person or for others.

PHD fimo fimo please think like a man with a PHD. It is nonsensical to dream like that, and by the way keep on dreaming, you will be shocked.

  32. Musa Larry Mweetwa mwana wakwesu utabeji bantu.
    Just focus on your studies.

I am in the diaspora with my family and friends. We have not endorsed Hakainde Hichilema. We are not party to your circle of friends who have endorsed HH.

Learn to use selective language as a PHD student. You cannot generalise like this. You are practising political falsehood or exhibiting your incorrigible nature towards the academic work of your teachers and tutors.

For your information, if I were in Zambia, I would have cast my vote for Edgar Lungu, as I would have done for the late Michael Sata, MHSRIP, and not Hakainde Hichilema. Sorry.

I urge family, friends, and all the people reading this to continue drumming up support for Edgar Lungu.

  34. I am not sure whether this Mweetwa is PhD candidate as he call himself. I, a student in Masters studies cannot pronounce that misleading statement. This can be left to low educated people who say things like Chongwe no go area for PF, Western Province no go area for PF, N/Western Province no go area for PF. Southern Province no go area for PF. Northern Province no go area for UPND. These statements in Zambian politics do not work. Worse you say “by Larry Mweetwa”. When you know the implication. Or if they were other tribe you could have made them to make this pronouncement not you.
Just like you forged that Zambians in diaspora have endorsed President Hakainde Hichilema of the UPND you should have forged the name. e.g Larry Banda, Larry Mutale.
Anyway good luck next time do it…

  35. Larry, stop living in a fool’s paradise. I am in London and never endorsed HH neither of the people am in touch with in London.

Your UPND meeting/drink up was held at a pub in Hendon (North London) and didn’t have any official representation of other political parties as such the statement attributed to the diaspora and other politcal is a scam and shows a lot of desperation on the part of UPND UK team.

You ought to be ashamed of yourself for trying to seek dubious political mileage.

This wasn’t an endorsement but a solidarity meet up of a few UPND members and sympathisers.

  36. Dr. Watts was right after all. The mind is truly the stature of man. Of the two frontrunners, HH is the taller. He has ideas. He is able to articulate them. EL is a parrot. He only mimics what he has heard someone else say.

  38. Lol I wish Zambians back home knew how unimportant Nawa and Co are. This is a joke. It speaks multitudes if someone like Nawa stands up and claims that some Zambians in the UK have endorsed HH . Jobseekers are everywhere. I suppose he wants a way out of his miserable life in diaspora. Why a total loser.

  40. I may have misread the headline, “some Zambians in the Diaspora”, those who are not part of, “some” need not lose sleep.

UPND UK Branch has existed from Mazoka days and here there is freedom of speech and association.

I remember attending UPND UK Branch’s well organised dinner dance at Connaught function rooms Holbon, London back in 2000, English television presenter and former professional footballer of Nigerian John Fashanu was as guest of honour.

I was happy to be present at this year’s UPND UK Branch membership card renewal last night. I am not Tonga but found the event interactive and useful as we reflect on the forthcoming Elections.

I may be a small lone voice, poor, in dire straits but I endorse HH. HH faka speed mufana, HH faka malasha!

    • Thank you Zozi-A-Zozi most of these Edgar Lungu supporters don’t even understand English some of them even claiming that they have been living in England for 30 years. The head said “some” not all now these dunderheads who are just as dull as their must can’t tell the difference. I am sure if these people were in Zambia, they could have resorted to pangas.
      Viva HH.

  42. Please stop insulting us with these foolish statements. This is not Zambia where you assume control of news and start issuing wild statements. This is the problem with students, spend endless amount of time reading books and after the inevitable boredom sets in, start fantasising about being people’s voices or spokes persons. I am not aware of many in the UK who would issue such worthless and foolish list of demands, HH maybe doing this and getting away with it but that is Zambia, this is UK, these are two totally different worlds. Nobody says stupid things like this in the UK, people are far more serious about things,I don’t see us behave in the way you are portraying us. If you wish to behave in this way, go back to Zambia, you will find enough foolishness to your hearts content.

  43. Ni HH fye! If you want to vote on substance then Hichilema is your man. The other guy has no vision. Bembas have been voting for bembas for long time and no questioned them. This tribal crique won’t work this time. We have tried it for many years sorry!

    0

    0
    • What I fail to understand about UPND supporters is whether you do seriously want to win elections. I say this because you are constantly insulting Bembas while asking them to vote for you. I see no sense in this and no one is going to vote for someone who asks for their vote by insulting them and if you can’t get the Bemba vote, how in hell are you going to win elections?

  44. Endorsing is still going on really and making news! The endorsement from the zambians in the UK has got no effect, nobody is voting from the diaspora and their audience is just the bloggers.

  45. I suppose those of you in the diaspora and support the status quo don’t care what your relatives back home eat or where their food comes from. How can one support the PF when our farmers are being completely exploited by a government so indifferent to the suffering going on?

  46. Let me tell you something guyz. This election is for two people HH and EL and we all know that. Now,between these two anyone can win. It’s just that Lungu is commanding a larger part of zambia in terms of provintial representation and this we all can’t deny because in as much as you are condenming the PF, there are other people appreciating their works.

  47. Thanks Loadist, most of these people don’t care about the welfare of their relatives home. One Patriot abroad says that he doesn’t care as long as he is surviving in social welfare. Can you imagine a normal person saying that?

  49. @mobile phone Gondwe. I don’t know who in particular you are addressing in your comment but I will assume your are addressing the author. To be fair the author made it clear in in the body of the article that he is issuing the statement on behalf of those that were at the gathering he and some of the Zambians in the diaspora specifically in London attended. He never purported or implied that this statement was on behalf of all the Zambians in the diaspora. If any one is to blame its the editir who created or allowed such a missleading headline. Lastly please remember london is not heaven its just another place on earth.

    0

    0
    • London is not heaven on earth? You don’t say!!! There was me thinking I am in heaven! Off course it is not heaven, why do you even need to say that and what value does it add to your comment? Are you seriously presuming anyone thinks London is heaven or are you assuming everyone else is stoopid except you? Heaven or no heaven, these are two worlds that are as different as night and day. HH is not going to accomplish what he is promising, you must know that and if you don’t then there in lies the problem my friend. The UK works, the economy works, it is almost a full employment economy, people live long

  50. @mobile phone you closed your comment by suggesting the UK is not Zambia as though Zambia is dysfunctional per se and the UK is utopia. There areaspects of life that need improving everywhere no place is perfect. You said”I am not aware of many in the UK who would issue such worthless and fullish list of promises, HH maybe doing this and getting away with it but that is Zambia, this is UK, these are two totally different worlds. Nobody says stoopid things like this in the UK, people are far more serious about things,I don’t see us behave in the way you are portraying us. 51. “As though to imply that there is certain level of mediocrity that can be associated with zed and not UK.” Yes that is precisely what I am saying. You seem confused or surprised that I would say that which I myself find rather surprising. UK and Zambia are different worlds on the same planet, I can arrange for a two weeks holiday for you all paid for, through an intermediary off course so you may visit and get just a glimpse of what I speak of. Zambia is a banana republic, I am Zambian and I love Zambia but I have also seen better, to be honest it is not fair to compare the two coz Zambia is probably where the UK was 300 years go, yes actually come to think of it, when they were just experimenting with democracy.

    0

    0
    • Just to correct myself I meant 800 years, just realised the Magna Carta was actually signed in 1215. So there you are, the sort of “democratic” fussy you are witnessing in Zambia today was were and truly done away with 800 years ago in the UK, that is how far behind we are as a country, trying getting your heads around that.

      0

      0
  52. @mobile phone. That is where I have issue with your opinion. Just because Zambia is at a different stage in its evolutionary process does not imply mediocrity. Every civilization should be judged on its own merits. For a young nation like Zambia is we are actually ahead of the curve of achievement and we are doing just fine. I guess this is a discussion for a different forum and time.

I wouldn’t worry too much about that Gondwe character. He is a cyber bully and likes the sound of his sh.it falling.

Only a deeply affected individual would make such comparison. He only wanted to prove he knows something of the Magna Carter!

Just for the record, UK does not have a Written Constitution! And they change laws at the drop of a pin! In one respect we are ahead of them!

  54. @patriot Abroad. I think its a great idea that we can all gather in this virtual world and discuss issues. Ofcourse some will be serious issues while others may just be casual discussions. However when some people rise to appalling levels of arrogance I find it very disheartening. It is okay for us to respectfully disagree in some cases there might be some passion exhibited. I have no desire to pick cyber fight with likes of this Gondwe character just was giving him/her a chance to further expose his/her own lack of reason and shallowness. Thanks patriot I totally agree. I bet you he/she thinks they know English history andyet could not tell you Northern Rhodesia become independent without googling. Lol

  55. Dear, dear this is embarrassing! Not the endorsement declaration itself or the ‘diaspora’ claim that everyone seems to be worked on. Rather the wish list demands imposed on UPND. I didn’t that to come from the diasporas, let alone a PhD student. It’s all about spending, spending and more spending without any single suggestion on how to create the money to spend on this Santa Claus list. Surely I expected a declaration made by Diaspora to be something meaningful, proper economical and technical advice based on sound education and judgment. Demanding a free education without spelling how it will be funded is naive. Leave that stuff to my old grannies in the village and my street vendors folks with low education. I say this list is impossible to achieve.

  56. Not sure why so many people are agrieved by this article? If you live in the diaspora and have not endorsed HH, write your own article and send to Lusakatimes.com.
We have endorsed HH, so what?? Yes we are not going to vote but we’ve succeeded in influencing many friends and family members to vote for HH and we have the right to do so! HH is the only way forward.

  57. Meanwhile in a continuing development some students at the CBU have just been informed that they will not be able to sit for their final examinations due to non payment of fees. Some of these students are failing to pay fees because their parents are farmers and they are still waiting on government to pay them so they can take care of their responsibility of sponsoring their children. As it has been said these PF failures do affect people in very real ways. Please and again I say PLEASE SAVE OUR FARMERS VOTE HH! !!!

Can this fool tell us which NAREP members let alone other political party members he refers to supporting HH?
