We have trust in ECZ, but not the PF Government-Dipark Patel

Share

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
OFFICIAL STATEMENT
12 January 2015

I wish to appeal to our supporters to remain calm and committed to raising any concerns or grievances regarding the election process through the correct and official channels.

The ECZ has our full support and we will continue to work with them to address any such concerns in the appropriate manner. Queries and requests for verification during the election process are natural and legitimate, but these must be raised in a manner that does not cause undue disruption or have the capacity to unsettle.

The ECZ is doing a commendable job. I wish to make it clear that it is not their actions that have aroused mistrust and suspicion. Rather it is a result of the fact that the Zambian people have too often had the truth hidden from them. The fact that the PF candidate regularly sneaks out of the country to undisclosed locations during the campaign period has been one such source of concern.

During the campaign we have not only been overwhelmed and humbled by the support for our candidate across the country, but also the conviction and energy with which our supporters are actively campaigning and calling for change. As we head in to the final days of the campaign we wish to remind and reinforce to our supporters that our campaign must at all times be a peaceful campaign, that violent acts will always be condemned in the strongest terms by our leadership, and that the way to overcome the violence against us is through the ballot box.

Dipak Patel

    • Why this Patel, is it related to the truck impounding or to let ECZ workers vote early? UPND don’t need more endorsements. It is not easy for PF to move from 25% vote. Just chill, and concentrate on inviting head of state to inauguration.

    • Mr Patel, too bad for you in this election because you another loss awaits your candidate. People do not like HH, you will prove it on 21st January.

  1. It would be naive and folly to trust the PF govt. PF is infested with happy liers and crooks. All dangerous criminals who are released from jail are in the PF govt. This explains the violence being perpetrated against fellow citizens in the UPND.

  2. Have you heard of Mr phiri o mwale in india in an indan news paper condeming the the rampant rape cases in india or talking about traffic jam in mombay

    • @Zabwino Palibe (ZP.)

You too can do it, by first emigrating to your favourite foreign country, become a citizen and participate in it’s political and cultural life. The fact you have never heard of a Phiri or a Hamududu being a political heavyweight in India or Podunk is scarcely Dipak’s problem. You are probably a product of a society that thinks choosing to be a citizen of another country is a treasonable offence. That’s the impression the dead thug Sata created in Zambians. It’s wrong to think so narrowly. The whole world is our home, all you do is choose your favourite location to live. If my ancestors didn’t have a pioneer spirit we would still be in Katanga (DRC) and probably you would still be in kwaZulu or Mozambique. Imagine if all Adam’s children refused to leave…

    • @ Zabwino Palibe
You are a true reflection of Pf mental incapability & inability to reason properly & articulate issues. Your statement looks like one that comes from a disciple of vision-less Lungu. If Patel shouldnt participate, What about Scot your president?

  3. Politicians are just recycled just the same as cadres. They are same politicians and same cadres and same ideologies. Same things to me any way.

  4. That is right PF can not be trusted, they are now saying that farmers will be paid on election day, proof of PF vote mandates a payment. Protect your vote, PF is up to no good.

  5. PF was born in lies, sustained by lies (90days), self destructed with lies and dying while lies go round (leader is healthy and fit), that Zambia is developed when its all lies.
Who can trust PF, its good riddance…….kuya bebele.

    • BaMumena! please twapapata. Stop this discriminatory language. These are just elections. they will come and go. the wont even recognize you. stop inflammatory language.

  6. THIS ORGANIZATION ADVISES PATEL TO SWALLOW HIS PRIDE AND COME OUT CLEAN BY APOLOGIZING FOR WHAT HIS THUG CADRES DID TO INPOUND TRUCKS WITHOUT TANGIBLE PROOFS.
PATEL IS JUST MEANDERING WITH WORDS ISTEAD OF BEING STRIGHT FORWARD IN APOLOGIZING. THE ACTION BY HIS CADRES AND TERRIBLY DAMAGED THE REPUTATION OF THEIR PARTY AND THE RATING.

  7. One week to go Ladies and Gents! You are you gonna chose? The choice is yours. I am a Voter, are you? I take it empty tins make noise, so the more noise you make on this blog spot, the more empty you are. Empty of a Vote. Exercise your Right! Your right to employ a president. Isn’t that beautiful? Ohhh! the sound of voting, what a wonderful tune!

  8. How does the PF figure in this whole ECZ trucks saga? PF folks were not even present when you people were busy acting like rabid dogs inspecting ECZ trucks. So what suspicious things have PF done to cause such anxiety about these elections? And how come it is only UPND that is so worried about this issue? Is it because the chief rigger, V.J. Mwanga, is in your camp and knows how it is done? Now see; he just made you get embarrassed for nothing.

I thought Zambia has an independent and neutral organ that runs elections—so whats the problem? I think Depak and his UPND goons just want to smear off the EGG IN THEIR FACES by trying to claim a high moral ground which they have lost. How about growing a pair and accept responsibility for once. And please stop being paranoid!

  9. Mr Patel, Sir, logic demands that you nyaaa first then shinda pa last. Imwe you start by wipping you backside?
No wonder you already won the election & PF stollen your votes. Plz, start by inculcating wisdom in HH. It will permeat to the grassroot

    • when there is suspicion, it has to be cleared. There is nothing wrong in clearing your suspicion that chaps are carrying wrong items by checking what they are carrying. Why should you PF *****s stress? Even the police, when they suspect that you have stolen, they will search you and establish the truth. What is there to be ashamed about? You just do not have what to say and you come to insult here. You don’t have the logic you want others to have and so its you who has shindad even before you have nyaad.

  10. A simple, “we are sorry for the over-zealousnes and loutish behavier of our cadres over the last week” will do Mr. Patel. But then the cops should have taken appropriate action against the louts for hijacking and commandeering the trucks and forcibly opening the contents. One Dante Saunders should be brought in on charges of terrorism.

  11. Words of wisdom from the Mighty UPND Team.

However, democracy is more about transparency and freedom. If ECZ is not transparent in their conduct, it will attract unnecessary suspicion like recent incidence.

Good job guys. Jan 20 is yours.

  12. Look, Patel, you will lose these elections. A man who moves from being a member of one political party and joins another like yourself, lacks integrity.

  13. DIPAK, YOU ARE DESPARATE, YOU WILL SOON BE MENTIONING PF IN WHAT EVER YOU SEE! I WONT BE SHOCKED TO SEE YOU POINTING AT THE AIR BLOWING ATI NI PF IJA!

  14. You have lost it you paki Patel with your tribal Tonga UPND. By engaging in illegalities with regard to the ECZ material you show quite clearly to the majority of Zambian voters that, indeed, you don’t deserve, and will never, ever merit their vote.

  15. Patel, what have you contributed to uplift the lives of Zambians? Just shut up and go grow some chillies. Don’t your know that ECZ is a wing of Government?
You send thugs to harass innocent truckers and when disappointed you try and twist your case?

Edgar is sharper than you chaps, he has taught you a lesson never to be forgotten.

  16. That is nonsensical, Dipak.

No one expected you to trust the PF, that is the reason why you are UPND.

Now, just let ECZ do the work they have been doing all these years.

  17. After this election there will be very serious problems in UPND that might break up the party because they will now realise that UPND is not going anywhere and will not win the presidency with HH as its president.HH messed up a long time ago when he said “UPND IS ME IAM UPND.I WILL BE THE LAST TONGA STANDING”These words cemented the fact that UPND is a tribal regional party and it will take a long time for this tag to go away as long as HH remains president of UPND.HH is a bomb waiting to explode and I do not know why UPND supporters cannot see this.HH has maintained the UPND presidency because of the money he has and nobody can challenge him in UPND for the presidency.Next week HH will cry again.Wanzelu,Nostrodumus, etc prepare for crush landing next week!!

  18. Dipak Patel, please crawl back to your banana island in Siavonga and stop irritating us.

    Ifintu Ni Lungu!!

Vote for Edgar C Lungu on 20 Jan 2015 for peace and sustained devlopment!!!

  19. One would be forgiven for thinking we have not lived with our Asian families for centuries…

There is nothing more abhorrhent than reverse racism except for racism itself.

Look up the Siddi in India and reflect on what a global world we live in.

  20. To the fool talking about recycled politicians should know that a goal can not be scored by sitting on the bench. Participate in politics to displace old politicians. Coward hynas in politics will always be spectators.
Patel is doing fine. Stop sleeping and be counted.
We all want a free and fair election.

  21. Patel leave politics to idigneous zambians you foreigner. We allowed in 1991 that was then twalicha nomba if you want politics go to India

  22. Patel please spare us with your simple logic,if I am not mistaken Pater is a Tonga indian from southern correct me if I am wrong if so I rest my case

  23. Patel, just go to the point. Just condemn your unruly cadres. Why are you going round the issue. The issue is that the way the UPND cadres took things was wrong. The channel airing their concerns was not followed. That’s what you should do. And go further to apologize both to ECZ and the Zambian people.

Spare us more embarrassment of yourself and your party?
