UPND Pleased that Government has reduced fuel price within their 7 days ultimatum

Share

Judge PF on last 3 years not last 3 days

We are pleased the PF have acted within the seven days ultimatum we issued to lower the price of fuel.

As UPND we have been calling for reductions in the fuel price for a long time.

Our call now is for government to immediately make sure this reduction trickles down to the ordinary citizenry by reducing the cost of transport for both short and long distances.

The cost of mealie meal and other essential commodities must also be brought down, as this is what we have been preaching for the past three years of PF rule.

We should not have had to fight so hard and so long for a reduction in the price of fuel. Government has a responsibility to its people to address the cost of living and ensure even its most vulnerable citizens can afford the basic necessities of life.

Such reductions should not be used as a pre-election give away. The reduction should have happened weeks ago, regardless of whether there is any election planned or not.

We appeal to Zambians to judge the PF on the last three years of failed promises and not just the last three days.

We are glad that so far we have already started giving critical directives on the management of the economy and national affairs from the opposition. We appeal to the Zambian people to vote for Mr Hakainde Hichilema on 20 January 2015 so that we can move Zambia forward together.

    • UPND you are good at providing checks and balances to the ruling party. We commend you to continue providing checks and balances to the government. U are a good opposition, please continue being so..the government needs you in the opposition and so do the Zambian people. Thank you

    • Pwa ha ha ha,kwena Ba UPND you’re sounding so childish….we all know that informers at ERB gave you data that the price of fuel was about to be released, and that’s how come you came up with the seven day ultimatum…same same na constitution road map,it was leaked to you by your informers at ministry of justice and you proceeded to release it as yours….ala mulekwatako insoni pantu ‘insoni ebuntu’. You tried it with the defense wing and they chose to ignore you….you tried it with ECZ and you ended up embarrassing yourselves when you failed to find the premarked ballot papers…same same napa 20th,EL will embarrass your HH. Vote PF.

    • Seeing this article has only pulled less than 200 views is a clear indication of how readers both online and off view UPNDs lies on their fake ultimatum..hopeless lies from UPND, HH in truth is crying because he and his relativeS in ERB have been manipulating and getting rich ofF the high prices just as he continues to exploit poor Zambians by selling off his meat products to exploiters like Zambeef..

    • dream on ba pf. hired pf guns blogging from without. what a nation of crooks and desperate party. what wrong is deeply hidden in their governance such that they cant afford to lose these elections? is it national funds they have misappropriated or something else? Is it the construction contracts that were being given in the bedroom of state house? by the way Mushota: where is madam Kaseba after losing to Mile Sampa, and after being dribbled by E.L. and the courts?

  2. Very well said UPND.

@ No. 1 what reasons can u give for voting for EL?? ….. is it because he has the nosiest kaponyas? or sharper pangas? i wonder … be issue based Zambians … WAKE UP!!!

  3. Just keep quiete.
Its unfortunate that there is no sensible opposition. No wonder pf is taking advantage.
As am talking lungu is making deligate list to include MUGABE on top

  4. The ERB CEO had long announced of a further reduction in fuel prices. It was on radio and TV. So, I wonder why SUNNY CHINTOMBWA is trying to take credit for something which is not his.

    • They like taking credit even on things that are beyond their control. Dull and confused party. So they don’t understand that the reduction of fuel in the SADC region ond other parts of the world is as the result of the reduced oil price on the world market. Backward thinking.

  5. Oh dear! Are they also responsible for BP cutting 300 North Sea oil jobs due to the plunging prices? Who writes these articles?

  6. Looking at the statements UPND make and the adverts they place in the post newspaper, one wonders why they even claim that they are intellectuals.

  7. thought this reduction was announced way back in december 2014 that by 15th january,2015 more reduction ll be effected. Whats hiha talking about.
