PATRIOTIC Front president Edgar Lungu’s marathon campaign for Tuesday’s presidential election has entered the home stretch, with the candidate selling his vision anchored on unity, continuity and prosperity.
From Zambezi in North-Western Province where he held a rally yesterday, Mr Lungu proceeded to Livingstone and addressed an enthusiastic crowd in the afternoon until dusk.
Mr Lungu said the PF understands the unemployment problems Livingstone has and pledged that if elected president, he will turn the city, in particular, and Southern Province, in general, into an industrial hub and thus create new jobs and reduce poverty.
He reaffirmed the goodwill that was behind President Sata’s decision to turn Choma into the provincial capital of the province.
Mr Lungu said it makes a lot of sense, practically and financially, to have Choma as the provincial capital largely due to its central location which makes administration much easier.
He condemned tribal politics as allegedly championed by Southern Province Minister Daniel Munkombwe, saying the PF is a national party that embraces every Zambian regardless of their tribe.
“Anyone who is championing tribal politics like some parties have been known to do shall be censored. We want peace and love in this country and not tribal politics. The PF is above tribal politics.”
He has also condemned political violence and called for the arrest of perpetrators, regardless of their party affiliation.
Mr Lungu also assured the crowd that patiently waited for his arrival from Zambezi that he would be a listening president who does the will of the people.
Mr Lungu is today expected to address more rallies in other parts of the province.
Earlier, in Zambezi, Senior Chief Ndungu of the Luvale people assured Mr Lungu of support from his subjects.

There is a leaking intelligence report which is suggesting that the UPND President Hakainde Hichilema may be declared winner of the next Tuesday (20.01.2015) Presidential Elections.
According to the classified document, our President Edgar Lungu may lose due to violence which most Zambians now believe is instigated by our carders.
The report indicates in parts that HH may win mainly because of the violence and Boko Haram Tag that Hon Lungu has been forced to wear.
I now call on all PF Members to do anything best to reverse this eminent lose.

EL is Zambia’s God given thread of national unity, stability, humility, reality, peace, development and servant leadership. He is a testimony that God is no respecter of persons. He anoints those he finds truthful to his precepts and virtues. God can raises a king and rulers for his people even from those with the most humblest background. As such EL’s divine appointment is captivating every Zambian even from the most poorest family who now see hope and a place for them in Zambia than being insinuated by UPND that leadership is just for the elite and economists.

Seems UPND have perfected the art of information leakages, which a basically a polite way of saying theft of information. Some good campaign messages are “leaked” by UPND before Edgar gets to announce them. This is to create the impression that Edgar is “me too” as you can see from UPND bloggers, but you can see the shallowness of the UPND messages compared to the detail of the Edgar campaign. True. UPND are the ones stealing PF’s plans for Zambia. A classic example is that of the Constitution Roadmap. Where is UPND’s integrity here? Everywhere they go, they talk about PF’s plans. If it happens that there is a crash in plans, PF are the more likely to implement them than UPND for the following reasons: 1) PF own the budget which was already approved, any other party will have trouble implementing anything, 2) UPND does not have numbers in parliament, and this will make it very difficult to pass any laws if they are to win (God forbid).

Lungu with no shed of a doubt has scooped the Presidency. UPND has equally realised this fact. The very recent character assassination on Lungu by UPND has produced the opposite results as in the eyes of ordinary people who are in fact in the majority and moreover identify with Lungu, see this as an assault on them hence choosing to batch with Lungu. Under the stables of UPND HH can never win the Republican Presidency. The most tribalistic tribe in Zambia are the Luba Lunda cluster. GBM, Felix Mutati, young Patrick Mucheleka ( former chola boy of Amb.BSK Chiti) can never be considered to be the clusters gatekeepers. This cluster in the history of the Zambian Presidency, had to give consent to the all 5 Presidents that has ruled Zambia. They’re responsible to RB’s raise and fall.
Lungu’s campaign team and strategy in comparison to the UPND’s has been supreme at all fronts this is even more impressive considering genesis of their campaign. Theirs has been efficient and effective begging a question of is a good team player and planner. It must be of concern HH’s judgement in the way he has assembled an impotent campaign team that have hastily sunk him in political quick sand.
Who ever wins next week, should NOT turn Livingstone into an industrial hub but only a tourism city. Zambia cannot afford to have a polluted tourism destination.

Livingston could have been an industry hub a long time ago. The PF people in charge of running it have no skills or qualifications and why it does not work and will not work. You need someone who knows tourism inside and out, and a university or college graduate to turn Livingston into a global phenomena. When people think Africa the first country to come to mind should be Zambia. Most nations don’t even know Zambia exists and if your marketing people know what they were doing we would be recognized. The truth is there is not enough promotion and marketing should be done daily not when ever someone recovers from Vodka. With the internet there are no limits when it comes to marketing Zambia as a destination. Zimbabwe is more known than Zambia and the question we should really ask is why?
