PATRIOTIC Front (PF) president Edgar Lungu has promised to improve the agriculture sector in Kaoma through timely provision of farming inputs and finding markets for the farming products.

Mr Lungu has also urged Zambians not to vote on tribal lines on January 20 because Zambia is bigger than one tribe.

He said at a rally here yesterday that farming is the backbone of Kaoma and it is only fair that farmers get the best out of the sector by finding markets for their produce and prompt provision farming inputs.

“I know that farming is the mainstay of Kaoma and if you vote for me on January 20 I will make sure that a lot of emphasis is placed on farming especially to the farmers here. My Government will provide farming inputs on time and find markets for your goods,” Mr Lungu said.

He said the PF government will build processing plants for products such as tobacco, maize and cotton which are farmed in Kaoma.

Mr Lungu said improving and investing in the agriculture sector in Kaoma will result in the creation of jobs for the local people especially the youth.
He also promised to improve roads in Kaoma by constructing new ones and rehabilitate the already existing highways.

Mr Lungu said tarred roads will help citizens to transport their goods and services easily.

On tribalism, Mr Lungu said it is unfortunate that some political parties and politicians are urging Zambians to vote on tribal lines.

“Tribalism should come to an end because we cannot rule the country based on tribes. To successfully governing the country a leader needs people from all the 72 tribes,” he said.

Mr Lungu said Southern Province minister Daniel Munkombwe should be ashamed of himself for promoting tribalism and urging Zambians to vote based on tribe.
He also condemned the United Party for National Development (UPND) for allegedly causing violence against the PF.

Mr Lungu said Government has released the Constitution roadmap and the opposition do not have anything to talk about on the constitution making process.

He said former President Rupiah Banda has decided to work with him and the PF because he has seen leadership qualities in him.

“Eleven candidates are taking part in this election but Mr Rupiah Banda has chosen to work with us for a simple reason that he has seen knowledge and wisdom in me. He was once President of this country and he knows what it takes to rule,” Mr Lungu said.

  2. Zambians take another look at Lungu, the man has no style, no confidence, no credebility and most importantly no vision. Is this the man you want to represent you in meetings with Obama, Cameron, Merkels etc….?

  3. too late ba chimbwi no plan (cnp). you should have done so in the last three years, not now during elections. its election corruption, you chimbwis. its an open electoral malpractice. where is ecz on these matters? is it also a compromised institution?

    • Pf has done more than UPND in their entire existence. UPHD will just bring tribal wars to the country. UPND has no track record in governance

  4. I hope to see this man back as an ordinary MP next week. Ati minister of chief justice and democracy. Please protect the vote, vote for the right person, HH

  7. Can a parent send a child to untrained teacher? voting HH is more like sending your only child to untrained teacher. Runing business and govt are not the same. Which leader in the world is coming from cash book to presidency?

  8. This is the moment for the PF to finish what was started and open up the Country so that it becomes easy to market our products without the impediment of bad infrastructure. The road network make life easy for movement not only for goods, services but people also.
    God bless EDGAR C LUNGU.
    Vote Wisely.

  9. This is an insult to the Zambian people. So they think we can believe them on this? For three years, govt has mismanaged the agric sector worse than any other govt in Zambia. These people we are foolish hence the courage to utter such lies. The truth is the entire PF govt does not know how to manage the agric sector. Those who have never done serious farming can argue but on an illogical stance.

  10. Its an insult to farmers and voters for Lungu to say anything about agriculture and the PF in the same sentence. No party in the history of Zambia has caused more suffering for farmers like the PF. Even in this worthless rhetorical speech he refuses to take responsibility for his party’s FAILED AGRICULTURAL POLICIES.
    PLEASE REMEMBER OUR FARMERS
    SUPPORT OUR NATIONAL TEAM
    VOTE HH! !!!!

  11. This government too this farmers for granted. Remember how the farmers would rather burn their cotton than sell at the rock bottom floor price.

Remember how our farmers have were promised total purchase of maize by Guy Scott only to turn out that they would only pay under the pressure of an election. Remember the politicalization of maize marketing. Fertilizer distribution is a mess.

Remember how PF would make threats to millers.

Save our Farmers for Paya Farmer.
