PATRIOTIC Front (PF) president Edgar Lungu has warned investors against ill-treatment of Zambian workers.

And Mr Lungu says Zambians should shame tribal politicians by voting for the ruling party in tomorrow’s presidential election.

Speaking when he addressed a rally at Kitwe’s Wusakile ground yesterday, Mr Lungu urged Zambians to vote for him.

“I have heard that some investors don’t have respect for Zambian workers. Those that will be mistreating our people, we will deal with them, we will talk to them first and if they become troublesome, we will chase them away,” he said.

Mr Lungu said Government will ensure that investors give workers good salaries and other conditions of service.

“I have a small body but I am very big and powerful. If I fell on someone, they would not get up. I will not allow investors to abuse Zambian workers,” he said.

“I will defend the rights of our people, I will listen to their problems and do what they want.”

Mr Lungu said he is a humble man but that humility is not a sign of weakness, and that he will work hard to better the lives of the people.

He assured that Government will reduce the price of essential commodities such as mealie meal.

He said Government is committed to empowering young people.

And Mr Lungu said Government will give the controversial ‘Black Mountain’ to youths as one way of empowering them.

“We will give the Black Mountain to our people. The copper we have is ours and we will ensure that youths are empowered,” he said.

Mr Lungu, who is a former pupil of Kitwe’s Mukuba Secondary School, promised to go back to Kitwe and visit his former school and class.

And Mr Lungu said Zambians should shame tribal politicians by voting for the ruling party in tomorrow’s presidential election.

Addressing a rally held at Kaunda Square grounds in Chingola yesterday, Mr Lungu, who doubles as Minister of Defence and Justice, said late President Sata disliked tribalism and embraced all Zambians in line with the motto ‘One Zambia, One Nation’.

Mr Lungu said his government is going to carry on with Mr Sata’s vision and foundation to enhance development.

He cited education as one of the sectors that require massive infrastructure development.

Mr Lungu also said his Government will dialogue with Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) on how best some of their dump sites can be turned into a small-scale mining areas.

Meanwhile, Mr Lungu has commended the electorate on the Copperbelt for conducting peaceful campaigns
.
Mr Lungu said this in an interview on arrival at Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport before proceeding to Kitwe and Masaiti districts for political rallies.

“I think it is important that we sustain peace that has been exhibited on the Copperbelt so far. Going by the reports we have received, the Copperbelt has shown exemplary love for one another,’’ he said.

He said it would not help to shed blood or destroy each other for the sake of voting.

Mr Lungu said the electorate on the Copperbelt should remain as an icon of peace.

Meanwhile, Mr Lungu has called for tolerance among all Zambians regardless of their divergent political views so that peaceful co-existence continues to prevail after tomorrow’s poll.

Mr Lungu said in a statement yesterday that the cherished peace and stability that has attended Zambia’s democratic enterprise for decades must not be endangered by differences of political opinion.

He said his confidence in Zambian people’s resolve to uphold the tenets of democracy has grown even further following his recent extended tour of the country as he campaigned for the presidency.

He said the PF’s commitment in the years ahead is to keep Zambia a bastion of stability, united in peaceful commerce across all facets of national life.

Mr Lungu urged Zambians to reject all forms of behaviour that has the potential to undermine the country’s stability today and after the election.

He said it is the responsibility of all political leaders to appeal to their supporters to observe civility in the remaining hours before the nation goes to the ballot to freely elect their leader.

  1. he looks like a comedian in play circle not a presidential material with this dental so uncared for,if he cant look after himself what more about the country there must be a better candiadate than him among 11 aspiring ones sure

    • Can someone remind me, how did Lungu get his PF presidency? How many votes did he get? And how many votes did the other 10 losing contenders get? Open your eyes Zambia the man cannot follow his party’s Constitution how can you trust him to follow the Republican constitution? Is this the man you want as Republican President? No style, no confidence, no plan, no brains, and no vision.
Vote HH for a better Zambia

    • Our President the People’s President continues to layout the roadmap for his administration for the nation to hear and what a great plan it is…That is a specific warning to the likes of Zambia Sugar, Zambeef, Mopani, KCM, Game stores, Shoprite and other imperialist minded businesses that are just milking Zambia off, learn to pay and treat your workers humanely..our Dearly beloved HEMCS wanted to bring such businesses to book but sadly his ministers failed him however under Edgar C. 2. How come PF didn’t see these investors who mistreat worker in 3 years not even in the 9 days if campaigning, they had the power to protect these poor employees, sorry the mandate ends in 2 days, go dream. Vote HH and see how a commoner will be respected in their country. This not a foreign land, this is our country where we can even go to exercise our right of speech because one of your family member has a panga or knife. Give us a break vote HH. Scott tried to put these pangas and knives but was told by the cabinet to leave that alone.

  3. Take a black man and imprint a doctrine of belief into his dull brain and cultivate it with fear of the consequence of not imbibing it, and you will have easy control of his miserable life. A black man thinks based on what he hears and sees not what he feels from his neutral perception.

The major difference between the white and the black is, one is adventurous and inquisitive (want to know why) while the other is subservient and conservative, little wonder blacks were stark idol worshipers before the arrival of Europeans. Many lives are being lost to religion everyday and people are still committing themselves to it blindly, well, they want to go to PARADISE after death. Life after death, life after a decomposed body, so much for a bamboozled brain indeed.

  4. Flight HH2015 missing in the mogoye river was hearding for State house all on board including Munkobwe gone to their farms after a succesful rescue by PF ubwato. Vote wisely fortune knocks once!!

  5. He wants to try Sata’s threats on Chinese maybe it can also work for him. Me Too mentality. Nothing original from this man. Wow! PF made a serious blunder to allow this man to manipulate the selection system using the panga formula. This election would have been easy for PF if they just were sincere. But they wanted to use donchi kubeba again.
