Share

Zambia’s Group B rivals Tunisia and Cape Verde on Sunday drew 1-1 in their opening 2015 Africa Cup of Nations match in Ebebiyin.

Tunisia drew with Cape Verde just three hours after Zambia held DR Congo to another 1-1 deadlock.

Group B teams are now tied on one point each after Sunday’s action.

Tunisia led after 70 minutes thanks to Mohamed Ali Moncer’s goal that was cancelled by Heldon seven minutes later.

Meanwhile, the next Group B matches will be played on Thursday with Zambia facing Tunisia and Cape Verde tackling Congo.

  1. I watched both games. Tunisia vs Cape Verde game appeared to have been the stronger game. Hopefully Mweene will be in top form against Tunisia. He was quite shaky against Congo.

  2. I think Janza has failed us. Looking at what we watched yesterday, I see no ways that we can progress to next round. Kalaba was also lost. I saw very little of him.

  3. After the first game, how many are now convinced that the coach is clueless as I have been suggesting.
Zambia’s midfield was no where in the second half.As an experienced or knowledgeable coach,HJ was supposed to use experienced midfielders who would hold on to the ball and then pass those defence splitting passes.Katongo,Mbesuma ,Jacob or even chamanga would have done that job
Tunisia would top the group then Cape Verde or DRC.
For Chipolopolo sorry, the team is not technically compliant for this championship.

  4. I dont like making comments on soccer because i dont think I am a good analyst when it comes to soccer. However, I feel I can say something since Im Zambian. Truth be told, the Zambian team were running around the pitch like headless chickens. Here is what I think went wrong yesterday:
    1. For some reason, the Zambian team decided to camp in Johannesburg, which is over 3000km away from the equator. The host nation is, “EQUATOR”ial Guinea. Surely, they could have gotten a clue from the name itself. Even the Bafana team decided to camp in Gabon, which has the same or very similar climate as the host nation.

    2. The couch decided to drop all experienced players for rookies. The midfield was empty. He should have searched for a proper replacement for Chris Katongo. He switched the 2…

  5. We were just supposed to put the ball down because we are too short compared to Congolese ,but unfortunately the coach was not able to read the game.
