Janza wants to continue as Chipolopolo coach

Share

Honour Janza has hinted that he wants to continue as Chipolopolo head coach despite Zambia existing the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations with a mediocre performance.

Janza’s youthful looking squad leaves the AFCON with two points after finishing bottom of Group B without a single win Equatorial Guinea.

He said he has gained some experience from the Africa Cup.

“If they give me the job as national team coach, I think I have tested what it is and the best is yet to come,” Janza said.

“I still believe we can do well,” he told journalists during a post-match media conference in Ebebiyin.

Janza says he still believes in his youthful squad despite Zambia’s elimination from the Africa Cup.

He assured that Zambia will bounce back.

“We are re-branding the team and the combination of experienced and young players is something that is giving us hope for tomorrow,” Janza said.

He added: “We are able to see light ahead of us.”

    • Janza, forget about the top job much like your cousin Janza Kumbele has. The performance in Equatorial Guinea was Horrendous – and i am being generous – for lack of a better word. I can not spend my tax money on such levels of crap! Your choice of players and game plan were pathetic!

    • No tribalising in football. Janza is the best qulified coach in Zambia. He is a FIFA trainer of trainers. But for sure he might have made a mistake by getting too many youngsters in the team, he must have been introducing them gradually. The team also needs to work on their physical strength, too weak on the ball zambias

  1. Tongas are slow thinkers. These people like HH are used to losing. Let us fine a better coach who thinks faster. He failed to read the game just like HH failed to read the elections and yet he still wants the Job.

    • NO THAT IS NOT TRUE TONGAS, BEMBAS, LUNDAS, LOZIS ARE THE SAME, OUR STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES ARE THE SAME…JANZA HAS BEEN WORKING HARD ALL ALONG UNDER VERY DIFFICULT CONDITIONS…BROTHER WE ARE ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION DON’T USE THAT KIND OF TALK I BEG OF YOU…

    • Isn’t this the tribal hegemony that the peoples of North Western Rhodesia refuse to be subjected to?

The tribalism of the Northern provinces is frightening!

    • Why being tribal here? Let us condemn Janza as an individual without bringing in tribe. Is he the first Zambian coach to have taken the team to the Afcon? Did the others bring the trophy? Of course Janza is not the right person for the job but lets leave tribe out of this. If we are not careful, we might just destroy our beautiful country.

    • Such comments in a progressive Zambia have no room. Kaunda taught us to be one Zambia, one Nation. Yes we lost the game, but you cant forget all that Janza has done. I also dont seewhy you should mentionhis tribal. Let us try to be level headed even when things dont go our way.

  2. With Chris Katongo in the team he could have scored from all those chances. This is why we need to blend new and experienced players together.

  3. Your perfomance was all crap. Surprising enough you seemed so BIG HEADED when you were leaving for the tournament thinking HH was headed for victory but alas the opposite occurred. Learn to be humble mdala coz you never know.

    • I say it again that it is this rank tribalism and condescending attitude of the Northerners that make those of North Western Rhodesia say NO to this apartheid attitude.

If you really think Northerners are superior, why dont you stay in your portion of this country. You will NOT survive. You have nothing to offer the North Western region but corruption and tribalism. Is it any wonder that Barotseland wants to be on its own?

  4. LETS GIVE JANZA A CHANCE PEOPLE THIS MAN HAS TRIED WITH VERY LITTLE RESOURCES BEING MADE AVAILABLE TO HIM BY OUR VERY DIFFICULT SPORTS MINISTER KAMBWILI..BA JANZA WE ARE FOR YOU BUT PLEASE BRING BACK CHRIS KATONGO AS A MEMBER OF YOUR TECHNICAL TEAM IF HE CANT BE A PLAYER AT LEAST LET HIM HAVE AN ADVISORY ROLE..

    • kambili the so called sports minister is nothing but a FAT FROG. he made everything very difficult the coach and his team. when did they leave for the E.guinea?

    • Are you crazy? The chap is clueless…..He is the waste coach Zambia has ever taken to afcon. Kalusha is another liabilty. We can do better please

    • @mpika man what are talking about worst coach?? Janza managed to get us to the Afcon..I blame the lack of resources in seeing the team being ready…also dont forget Zambia actually played better than Tunisia despite them losing..Rome was not built in one day..which coach are you going to get now? You want Jose Mourinho?? And when Mournho fails you call him useless as well..no, that type of thinking is useless we have Janza and he is capable of getting the job done, he has proven himself and to sack him would be a big mistake, how many times has Janza asked for more funds for the team and how many times has our Sports minister denied him??? I put the blame squarely on Kambwili..its Kambwili who needs to go not Janza…

    • Janza is a fool! He had the cream of Zambian footballers but he just couldn’t think properly! One has to have tactical awareness! team selection please! the right players! Honour failed us! So he must GO!!!!! Na Kalusha!

  5. @kci. I think this idea of always thinking in tribal lines will just plant tribal hatred in people.for now I think the best thing we can have is civil war so that respect can follow after.

    • And the Linyungandambo can warm up quickly. There are very few people from North Western Rhodesia who have settled in the North East. The NWR is awash with these ‘foreigners’ who are economic refugees specialising in looting the treasury. Corruption is from the North just like their relatives in DRC where you eat corruption in the morning, afternoon and evening.

If the Northern provinces think they are strong, by all means let the country split and then we shall start drilling for oil and mining for diamonds which to date we are not cause of the destructiveness and plundering of Northern foreigners.

  6. The best is yet to come?are you fuking kidding us now,or maybe you meant that the best mediocre performance is yet to come.
You are so fuking fired dummy, counterfeit, sham of a coach.

  7. It is a worry how some people who you would think are educated enough find satisfaction to demean others and even mock them for their farming and cattle rearing activities. Farming and cattle rearing are age-old industries in all civilised countries around the world but it is sad that it seems in one region of Zambia they are deemed as primitive.
From the past and for a long time Botswana has largely survived on it’s livestock industry and today it is a giant success story where some of those mockers go in their thousands for survival. It is easy to forget after you have filled up your belly with beef and nsima from SP and carelessly open your mouth.

  8. Honour Janza, North West Rhodesia has your back watched!! We shall defend you from The Zambezi Source right through the plains of the West and onto the falls and gorges of the Zambezi and Kafue.

If you do not get a long term contract, then there is big trouble!!

  9. Janza cannot win a national team competitive game He is good to be laid or on the technical support to contribute and cannot deliver a trophy at any competitive competition

Its a pity FAZ engaged the technical staff to beef the bench too late to marshall

Then Kalaba is not a team captain the Captainship should be given to able team leaders who can command and influence to attack like Sunzu or as seen by shouting in mweene

Janza should be dropped to technical staff and new coach like Patrick Phiri be appointed Janza is better in technical staff and not as head coach the team cannot perform

  10. Let this Southerner resign. He can go back to the land in Southern Province, we are fed up of this Tonga senseless boy that has destroyed our talent. All that we have worked for over the past years has been destroyed in few months by this Southerner called Janza. Thats why Tongas can never rule Zambia, because they can just sell Zambia in exchange for cattle and that would mark the end of Mother Zambia. He (Tonga boy Janza)must leave our National Team……. Tongas only know how to make noise, yet they lack the capacity to do the job. Nangu fye ba HH ni same same fye he cant manage to rule Zambia, bunda bwa pakanwa…Janza must go, we dont want ifyabupuba..

  11. This time no job for local coach its unbelievable the national team to comeback with such kind of performance, am very disappointed with janza big head but empty. No wonder why he drops all experienced players? Just because he was jealous of senior players like Chris katongo, Jonas sakuwaha, Jacob mulenga, Isaac Chansa etc. This are key players with experience. But he did fackoo

  12. Janza satana. What are you talking about. You failed to read all the games as if you are not the most qualified coach in the country. Thats why they say that theory is not the same as practical. You need a genius to translate theory into practice. Just join one of the sports academys and start teaching youngsters. We wont give you the job.

  13. when a country is divided, you don’t expect the country to perform better at international level. most of the countries in Africa that have internal problems features badly in competitions. just take a look at Nigeria, Egypt, Sudan, Ivory coast (since 2000) angola, and now Zambia.
HAVE YOU SEEN ANY REASON FOR ZAMBIA FAILING TO BEAT DRC, TUNISIA AND CAPE VERDE IN THE LAST GAMES? under normal circumstance all the teams were walk over for Zambia. But psychological disunity back home affected the outcome.
    ZAMBIA SHALL NEVER UNITE

  14. This is what happens when you elect a KOPONYA as President. There is nothing inspiring about him.I still do not fathom what u people saw in this Lungu. This is completely nuts.

  15. If FAZ want to continue with their new record of not winning an Afcon finals game for two tournaments now they should stick with this job on training coach. Simaata Simaata can make a better coach than this clueless man. Only Zambia has a national coach who has never coached anywhere.

  16. Zambians should learn to appreciate and give credit where it is due. First of all that physical education trainer pretty darn good. The players were fit and so the defense never allowed more than a goal. With this team there was too much madinyongo. Any injury on the field then it’s time to drink water kwati ni halftime. The stage was way too big for Janza.
