President Edgar Lungu has sent a message of condolences to his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah Sissi, over the killing of more than 30 people in a terror attack.

President Lungu said he learnt with deep sorrow the cowardly acts of violence against the people of Sinai area in Egypt.

Mr. Lungu sent his message of condolences in a letter to President El Sissi, the Egyptian people and the bereaved families on behalf of the Zambian government and the nation.

This is according to a media statement made available to ZANIS in Lusaka today by his Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda.

President Lungu desired that the friendly and brotherly relation that exists between Zambia and Egypt would grow from strength to strength for the mutual benefit of the two countries.

He went on to assure Egypt of Zambia’s support in the country’s effort of combating terrorism.

The Zambian Head of State met President El Sissi on January 29 on the side-lines of the summit in Addis Ababa where they discussed several bilateral issues including bilateral cooperation to combat terrorism.

    • Ba Lungu & your Press aid……handle it nicely,”you rash you crush”. Where did Edigar meet the Egyptian President ? Yesterday you ran a similar article but to my dismay there is mismatch in information. Sisi cancelled the AU meeting due to terrorism at home ? Where did Edgar meet him as per your ‘yesterday’s article’ or MAYBE its me with WRONG INFORMATION?

    • This jack of all trades business is just to much. Sometimes it helps to be quiet. Egypt has been in turmoil for years now because of the coup, Mubarak era etc. have you looked at the appalling human rights cases in Egypt today. Unlawful imprisonment of Aljazeera journalist, etc. Then there you go with your eyes shut condemning something you don’t even about. Your ZAF failed to fly the ballot boxes because of a storm in the teacup, poor equipments and you think you can fight terror. You support blindly, tomorrow they will be here in Zambia and see how you will react.

    • Does Edgar Lungu really understand these attacks?? It better to keep quiet or invite religion you don’t belong too.

  1. As much as I liked my Sata, MCS never had this professional credence that one edgar has. He is building on Sata’s dream while shinning with his own.

    • Nyau, I know you love HH, it is refreshing to note that even you have seen the great wise steps president Lungu is taking. Working as a leader always should.

    • my dear good friend Mwanawakwitu
Thank you. But be advised that I hold no patent on my beautiful name. The Nyau you are responding to here is probably not the Nyau you are referencing. So if you are asking the opinion of this Nyau, I can tell you honestly that there is no love lost between me and ka Lungu. That is a euphemism for saying that there was never any love between us to begin with.

  2. EL is the Man. I’m so confident that we have a unique African leader. Watch this space ba ngoshe. Ifinitu ni Edgar. HH you have been consigned to the dustbin of “also runs”.

  3. if ka Lungu is going to start sending these messages of condolences to the the middle east he better pre-print thousands of cards already. He will need them.
