Wanderers appoint Chewe “Bomber” Mulenga assistant coach

Share

Promoted FAZ Super League side Mighty Mufulira Wanderers have beefed up their technical bench after hiring Chewe “Bomber” Mulenga as first assistant coach.

Wanderers chairman Kenward Chansa confirmed the hiring of Mulenga who has joined the Manfred Chabinga headed Mighty bench.

Chansa said, without being specific, that Mulenga has signed a long term contract with the Shinde outfit.

Moses Kashimoto has been demoted to the role of second assistant coach.

“Mulenga is now the first assistant coach and we hope to stay with him for a long time,” Chansa said.

Bomber had a short stint as Konkola Blades head coach in 2008 when he took over from now late Charles Mwila.

Mulenga was an assistant coach at FAZ Division One North club Kalulushi Modern Stars before joining Mighty bench last week.

  1. This Mulenga guy is a failure in his coaching career!!!he failed badly at Blades together with Manfred Chabinga!!!i dont know if both coaches will last beyond june 2015 at Mighty!!!but good luck for them!!

  2. Lets see what he can do @ Shinde. He did not just leave Kalulushi Morden Stars he was fired for poor performance together with Fewdays Musonda. All goes with lucky, he may do well @ Shinde. Both Chabinga and Mulenga are CAF A trainers.
Thanks to young Moses Kashimoto. He has done alot for the team. My request to Wanderers executive is that send Kashimoto either FAZ D or CAF C.

  3. BOMBER MULENGA IS A SEASONAL COACH. HE IS A VERY EXPERIENCED COACH. HE HAS SO FAR COACHED LCC AS HEAD COACH, KONKOLA BLADES AS HEAD COACH, IN BOTSWANA HE COACHED A DIVISION ONE TEAM AS HEAD COACH AND FINALLY AS ASSISTANT TO FEWDAYS MUSONDA AT KALULUSHI M STARS. HE IS A FORMER INTERNATIONAL AND PLAYED IN ZIMBABWE FOR ALMOST 14 YEARS AND WAS TOP SCORER IN 1996 , 97 AND 1999. HE ALSO PLAYED IN CYPRUS FOR AMOST 3 YEARS.

  4. MULENGA BOMBER CHEWE IS A VERY EXPERIENCED COACH. THE COMBINATION WITH CHABINGA IS GOOD. THEY WILL PERFORM WONDERS. THEY EVEN PLAYED TOGETHER AT KONKOLA BLADES ALONG SIDE ESTON MULENGA. PLSE WATCH THE SPACE. VIVA MIGHTY VIVA.

  5. Upon being head coach in all the clubs that you have outlined, can you tell me how many accolades he has earned himself. We don’t want experiments at shinde this time around. We suffered so much in Division one.

  6. Looks like Mighty is losing it’s identity as a Mufulira outfit.
We are now a Chingola/Konkola extention. We should invest in our own to make sure the long tradition of Mighty is upheld. We need to have a proper succession plan at all times, Mwaumfwa?

    • Imbwili while I understand your fears I think they are not well founded. Remember one of our greatest players Ashios Melu was brought up by Konkola Blades? We adapted him and turned him into one of Zambia’s greats. Don’t worr boyi Chabinga has rescued us. From now we should focus on regaining our lost status.
