Rained-out Nkana-Zesco clash to be replayed on Sunday

Nkana and Zesco United’s 2015 Charity Shield semifinal clash will be replayed on Sunday afternoon after it was washed-out on Saturday.

A storm washed-out the semifinal game after 45 minutes of play at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.

The game was called off with the two teams scoreless on a waterlogged pitch.

“Because of a heavy downpour the pitch was assessed to be unplayable. The game it has not been abandoned but it has been aborted,” FAZ vice president Bonny Mwamelo said at a briefing at Arthur Davies.

Mwamelo said the match will be played at 14h00 and fans will be charge half-price of what they paid to watch Saturday’s doubleheader.

Mwamelo said ticket sales will start at 10h00 and that the decision to charge was made in the interest of security and crowd control.

He said the match will be played for the full 90 minutes and that all yellow cards from Saturdays game will be carried forward but that teams were obliged to change players for Sundays game.

Meanwhile, winner will face Power Dynamos in the final on March 7.

Power beat Zanaco 1-0 in their lunchtime kick off at the same venue thanks to a 9th minute goal from Jimmy Ndhlovu.
