    • ba councillor bakalabombe inshi mwebantu? I think there will be no difference from RB when it comes to commissioning. RB was commission even a single chicken run…

    • PEOPLE SOMETIMES ADVISE YOUR OWN BRAINS IF U CAN. IF HE WAS A “SOME OF US” LIKE HH, YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING ATI “BOASTING”. THE MAN LOWERS HIMSELF HUMBLY TO EVERYONE’S LEVEL ATI “LIKE WARD COUNCILLOR”. NINSHI FINSHI MUFWAYA AI? DO U EVEN KNOW WHAT U REALLY WANT IN LIFE?

    • YOU THE ONE SAYING “EL IS NOT PRESIDENTIAL MATERIAL”, WHAT MATERIAL ARE YOU YOURSELF? ARE U EVEN HUMAN MATERIAL YOURSELF OR ANIMAL MATERIAL? LIMBI ULI KONI MATERIAL!! WHO TOLD U THAT THERE’S A MATERIAL CALLED “PRESIDENTIAL”? WHO MADE SUCH A MATERIAL, YOURSELF? PRESIDENT MUNTHU NGA IWE NA INE MAN!! NO BWALI NA KAPENTA ALALYA, BELAMIBEPA BA HH, ATI “PRESIDENTIAL MATERIAL” YABA!!

    • He can be humble and still maintain the integrity of the presidency. Well, in this case we are talking about the kind of projects that should cal for the president to commission.

I think the president should wait for pedicle road, Mansa-Luwingu road, Kitwe Chingola dual carriage way, Itezhi tezhi power plant, Bottom road, Mungu -Kalabo road, new KKIA terminal and many others that MCS started.

Why commsiion a toilet that is not of national character and “importance” so to say? Leave those to the Home Affairs minister or better still the local councillor

    • The Chief sponsor of violence.

During elections he promised to beat up UPND supporters.

After elections, he is emboldened and now threatens to chase away, humiliate, set police on and crush brick machine like his detractors! ICC prosecutor begin taking note of the mens rea this Lungu threatens on 58% of the populations that didnt vote for him.

Markets and compounds are now slaughter houses for any opposition supporter.

    • Wake up Zambians, don’t we have names in our own languages? Why John Howard police post? come on ,bukaca lisa. Go to Europe if you will find you names there, even our famous Kaunda can not be named .

    • Chikubabe you are right. That is why Robert was renamed to Chawama. We should do away with some of these colonial names. For example, before colonialism, there could have been a prominent Soli chief or person in that area whom we can the area after.

    • @1&3 photos – operative in a dark suit. Typical rural officer with his thing bulging from the pocket. Kulibe ma holsters?

    • ECL and his boys, the PF thugs. Big mistake these CATS have made to sideline Dr Guy Scott. Hey, I’m not your TAX PAYER anyway.

    • Chitomfwa, true to your name. You a spoilt chap. Too bad you even have to celebrate such a useless status and demean yourself publicly and think its is being clever.

The mistake you made was to elect HH as UPND leader on tribal lines. This mistake will hunt you, haunt you, humiliate you in elections and inflict so much pain on you that you continue to lose elections. You shot yourselves in the leg.

Open your eyes to reality and stop accusing the Zambian people who preferred EL to HH. It was their choice. All you need is to respect it.

The PF guys are not thugs but victors and rulers of Zambia. That is reality. Think about that!!! I feel like whistling all the way with joy while others are in deep sorrow. EL is saying “Catch me if you can” can you? No mwachepa!! Ha ha ha ha

    • Nothing wrong people in such areas feel his part of them remember majority literate are minority electorate so I think his representing us the poor well….Many presidents wear down to earth dress code nothing wrong

    • He needs a stylist and image maker. Where did he get that shirt? EL you’re not just being seen in misisi, you’re on the intnl scene the moment you step out of sh. Remember that.

    • I’ve already given up on our president getting an image over-haul. Now my main concern is that red short baton he is carrying

    • Yebo Nkhosi,
That’s what scares me. I have no clue. In my time I have seen these goons carrying a white handkerchief, an animal tail, a walking stick but never a short red baton!

      ha ha

    • What are you afraid of thats my question. I believe that the hat never scared you because it is Western. We are still African despite the high levels of Western influence. It is normal in our African traditions for leaders to create a sort of identity. This could be wearing or carrying some regalia, fly-whisk, headgear, walking stick, etc.

EL was given that short stick by some chief in Luapula and a walking stick by the Litunga. This was to honour him in some way. I have huge respect for traditional leaders that gave EL these things because traditionally they meant well.

As an African, I value my traditions and really, I have nothing to get scared of but pride in being African. If our leaders can display our Africaness, man I enjoy that and give a thumbs up.

  1. …Tatina Cholera!! drinking tap water from Misisi where faecal matters are bare for all to see!! I wonder what the protocol officers were doing!

    • President Lungu is down to earth guy, nothing wrong drinking water direct from the tap,he has tested the same water before and some of us we have been drinking water from the tap for years but we are still moving and fit at the same time, yet people who were drinking water from Paris are buried at embassy park.

  2. Hey which Rapper is that in a bowler hat and purple floral shirt. Is it EL Cool Jay? And whats the story with the short wooden stick? Bali kuti ma Image Makers?

  3. Zambia had only 2 presidents . Mwanawasa and guy scott and cared for the economy and people . Zambia economy is weak and his busy in chawama. While that’s PF people who voted . Shake Shake BA lungu

    • @6 Jacob

Guy Scott has NEVER been President of Zambia! He ACTED in that role and gov’t was dissolved to allow for elections of a new President following HEMS passed.

Stop deluding yourself. That is a wet, White South African dream.

  4. That house in the first picture spells ‘hopelessness and desperation’. Maybe it’s time the electorate stopped chanting slogans and made their leaders accountable.

  5. Great pictures…this how presidents should be – down to earth right where the people are. Not this business of suits, ties and hotels when you cant taste the rough water people drink!!

Lungu is setting a very high bar for presidential aspirants. Bane leading people is being with them where they are so that you can take them in a new direction.

    EL is a lucky guy!!

  6. This is the man who has told Zambians with views different from his to leave Zambia. He has also said he will use the police to crush those who oppose him.
Zambians being what they are will take these statements lightly and will only wake up when some citizens start disappearing mysteriously like in Zimbabwe.

  7. I am starting to like this guy. Here’s a president who for once puts his suits aside to mix with the ‘common man.’ A rare breed in Africa especially.

    • iwe Banmupasa kamutenog kaja by some chief in Luapula! so pasopu!!!! he also has one from the King of Barotseland. he is highly blessed and loved by the common man!!!!

  8. EL is a politician, a good one for that matter. You link up with people where they can see you and where it matter. It is a simple image building tactic and it will make popular with the masses. We have other politicians who because they think they are rich, they detest mingling with the commoners because they consider them unclean. Remember, these are the majority voters and EL is focusing 2016.

The opposition instead of laughing at EL for what he is doing, should see this a signal of another bashing in 2016.

Your condemnation will not work but only waste you valuable time to do your own stuff to win the confidence of the people.

  9. He can be humble and still maintain the integrity of the presidency.

  10. If you can’t see that ECL went to Chawama with one eye on the coming bye elections showing people that he was an effective Chawama MP then you need political education. Call it early election campaign if you like.

    • ZWD, Let it pain you very much to the point that you go hug a ZESCO transformer. remember to put the live wire in you mouth. It works better.

Hi guys, where are those people shooting rabid and unsecured dogs? here is one called ZWD!! It has rabies!!!

Well, We are enjoying it very though and our hearts are at peace. Sorry there is nothing we can do for you heart ache. It must be terrible!!! I can only imagine. We can only pray for your healing.

      Well EL is President. Period.

    • @Yebo Nkhosi

This is where Lungu laid his philosophy on anyone who dares challenge him. He will, according to his own words:

      i. beat them up (already happening in markets like Soweto)
ii. abuse his Executive authority by ordering police to sort them out
iii. crush them into smitherins (pulp) and ultimately
iv. make them stateless or refugees. Lungu will chase citizens!!

Lungu is not ignorant of the law. He is a senior lawyer. It is everything to do with his bad character and poor judgment.

Give a man power, then you know him. This man is a d1ctat0r. Kamuzu of Zambia. He is worse than Sata and Kaunda combined.

    • Please put my in the loop between President EL having visited Chawama constituency and him being a dictator. Do you tell commissioning projects and shaking hands with people in that area makes him a dictator? I thought it was part of his duties. You say EL knows the law, can you tell me then what he has done that is unlawful? Is visiting Chawama unlawful. Please educate me.

I am having difficulties to make sense of your outbursts. I merely responded to the ZWD post in relation to EL Chawama visit, which to me does not make sense. Then you too come up a similar post. Please spare me the chafe, I need some impressive substance in your posts.

Kindly convince by substantiating what you consider President EL has done wrong by visiting Chawama, Misisi, etc. May the grace of God be with…

    • Oh yes, this is where he laid out his philosophy of beating, crushing and chasing Zambians from their homeland.

No opposition allowed for Edgar. He is surely the Mobutu and Hastings Kamuzu re-incarnate and Bob Mugabe friend.

Such you call one plain word: dictat0r.

    • If you say “Where he laid down his philosophy..” what do you mean? in Chawama? What was the verbatim in that philosophy which made you conclude think he is a dictator?

I asked you to justify your claims that President EL is a dictator like Mugabe, Kamuzu, Kaunda and others that you have mentioned. You have not done this. You have only repeated what you said earlier.

Without you substantiating your claims, your claim is then Zinjathropical by conception. Period. Remember the “Nut Cracker Man”?

Iam not after you giving list of your so called dictators, but describing EL’s dictatorship. Can you do this simple thing.

If you cannot, please do not waste my time. You have lost in round one. Next subject please!!

The Bible says, “My people are dying for lack of wisdom”

  11. Picture 13, His Excellency is reasoning with guide. ” look, I can’t be expected to duck down to enter that cell door, it’s the wrong height for me!”

Picture 17, ” look, I’d need to be this high to get in that door.”

  12. This is what Zambians will be getting now..Puctures,Press statements, Lungu warnings and firing. Ifintu ni malabishi yeka yeka

    • You need to calm down. You have never contributed anything sensible on Lusaka Times. Even when there is good, you have to comment negatively. There is nothing wrong with the President commissioning works in his constituency. You should remember that Chawama is his until the 15th of next month when a new MP is elected. I am Nawakwi and general Miyanda all the way, but I know when to attack the government in office when the err.

  13. President unveiling a police post ? MHRIP i wish Sata can come and see what is happening, how Zambians are being threatened to leave Zambia.

  14. Red carpet in a sub par village?

I bet this village of mediocrity is full of Bemba tribalists and panga fighters ready to kill those of us from smaller tribes .

  15. No 8 so you think the Presido should be in suits, what colonial thinking. I have seen some officials going to tour a farm in suits. Wake up Lungu is like us and he is gaining more popularity. So please continue putting on suits and think that how Presido should be , mwaitaya apo. Lungu in tune with us the masses. Our late HEMCS was fond of putting chitenge shirts and people loved him. Suit people mwaitaya. Go Lungu.

  16. disheartening, the conditions our people live in, the haves and have nots will always be part of human existence, however, for Zambia, the gap should not be this big – too few people, an abundance of natural resources but unfortunately with a govt run by people only interested in enriching themselves

    • Right, ask HH to give away some of his ill gotten wealth. Have you asked him to do that first before he seeks another election? Let him show us how he will do it if we elect him.

  17. @chikubabe, unfortunately we were colonised by the British that’s why you find such names like ” John Howard”! Take it or leave it
