TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy.”
(Psalm 126:5, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

The Scripture talks about seasons of sowing and reaping in your life. In Psalms, it talks about sowing in tears and reaping in joy. That verse is saying that the sowing seasons are usually the most difficult. It’s hard to keep a good attitude when all your friends are being blessed, but you’re not. You may feel like they don’t work as hard as you do. You may feel like they don’t give like you do or don’t deserve the blessing. That’s a time of testing. It’s hard to go through disappointments and stay positive and hopeful. These are seasons of sowing.

If you’ll do the right thing even when it’s hard — when you sow in tears — you will always reap in joy! Have a new attitude toward what God has placed in your heart. It may be taking a long time, but God still has a plan to bring it to pass. Don’t give up. Your time is coming. It’s never too late! God is saying, “This is your season. Keep your faith stirred up.” Keep sowing because in due season, you will reap the bountiful harvest with a song of joy in your heart!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Heavenly Father, thank You for another day to serve You and sow into the lives of those around me. I ask for Your strength today to do Your will and keep a good attitude. Help me recognize my season of sowing so that I can be ready in the time of harvest. I love You and bless Your holy name today. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

  1. What kind of sowing is the Psalmist talking about? I would like to understand more what “Sowing” means here. Thankyou

    • Tithing is just a scam. The crime is so carefully crafted and executed that most church goers will yell AMEN!

The crime? Pastors teaching that God requires Christians to tithe to the church. With tithing, the victim is so ignorant of the truth, they have no clue they’ve been a victim. And if and when the tithing scam victims realize they are victims, there is really nothing they can do about it. The scammer keeps the money.

    • “Where Was “God” During The Rwandan Genocide ?

When over a million people died in a period of 100 days where was “God” ? Why didn’t he protect them ?”

    • Joel & Victoria Osteen there live in a $10m mansion and rake in millions a month from your ignorance whilst you are there digesting these selfsame soundbites and foolishly responding Amen Amen.

      Wake up!!

    • There is no such thing as heaven…

This is the BIG LIE the europeans and arabs used to keep on oppressing us, the Chinese dont believe in heaven, they reason…

suffer now,,,enjoy later in heaven.. jeez…..lol.

      HAHAHA…

unbelievable, the lie is still working till today…Yaba!!.

    • Good question. And the honest answer is “No one human being on earth knows the answer to that question just as no computer or smart phone knows and understands human beings on their own accord.”

    • Cactus,

Humans did not say, “Let’s make smart phone in our own likeness.” Otherwise they would know.

Human beings are taut themselves as the highest form of life on earth, yet they are the only ones who exhibit the highest form of stupidity: Want to rely on a book for guidance on how to live well on earth, when not even a fly requires a manual. Nobody teaches a mosquito how to suck blood and from whom!

      Nobody!

But mighty man, made in the image of God needs a book.
That goes to show you how BOOLSH!T the god proposition is.

  2. Some pastors are good at bastardizing the job eh. Tomorrow he will want you to sow a financial seed while he’s busy sowing organic seeds.

  3. According to Osteen, God wants to pour out his “immeasurable favor” on his human creatures, and this requires a fundamental re-ordering of our thinking. “To experience this immeasurable favor,” Osteen writes, “you must rid yourself of that small-minded thinking and start expecting God’s blessings, start anticipating promotion and supernatural increase. You must conceive it in your heart before you can receive it. In other words, you must make increase in your own thinking, then God will bring those things to pass.”

There is nothing really new in this message. Anyone familiar with the New Thought movement and later books such as Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich will see a persistent theme. The important issue is this — Prosperity Theology is a false Gospel.

  4. The problem with Prosperity Theology is not that it promises too much, but that it aims for so little. What God promises us in Christ is far above anything that can be measured in earthly wealth — and believers are not promised earthly wealth nor the gift of health.

Instead, Osteen focus on happiness and God’s “immeasurable favor” to be poured out on all people, if they will only correct their thinking.
As a thought exercise, let’s just limit the consideration to those people who have identified as Christians throughout the centuries. Does the Osteen message come close to their experience? Would it even make sense?
Just consider the fact that most Christians throughout the history of the church have been poor, and often desperately poor.

  5. They were not hoping to move into a suburban mini-mansion, they hoped to be able to feed their children one more day. That picture is still true for millions upon millions of Christians around the world today.
And that is just the start of it. What about all those who are even now suffering persecution for their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ? What about the loved ones of the martyrs in Mosul? What about the Christians forced out of their homes and threatened with genocide? What about the children of Christians slain in Iraq and Syria just in recent weeks, or those martyred by Boko Haram in Nigeria? How does Prosperity Theology work for them? Can anyone look them in the eye and say that God’s plan for believers in this life is to know Your Best Life Now?

    Wake up people!!

    • You are such a retard. If you dont believe in God just shut it. i see you have too much time on your hands. Invest your time in school.

  6. Good message. Life has seasons. It teaches and reminds us to do and say to others as we would like them to do and say to us in all seasons of our life cycle. It builds good character. Keep it up ba LT.

  7. I think it is a principle of work before pay being Proupounded Here. It is not only about money. It could be even to do with training before a big game or even studying before an exam..why people see money in everything preachers put out is beyond me

    • Why don’t you ask preachers the selfsame question…its not rocket science why there are more churches in black communities than they are libraries or Gyms.

    • In America alone Black Churches Have Collected $420 Billion since 1980, where is the money? If we had Africa that amount will double…

    • The church itself is a scam.

      This shouldn’t surprise anyone.

The Catholic church used to sell ‘indulgences’.

      Pastors today sell prayers.

      Nothing new here.

  8. “[Lack of religion] can give you a greater clarity about right and wrong, because you’re more likely to base it on empathy and decency than a guaranteed spot upstairs come Judgment Day.”

  9. ”When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion it is called a Religion.”
    – Robert M. Pirsig

    • @Jayjay, you are spot on about religion. It is actually religious people who crucified and killed Jesus Christ.

  10. @9.2 Jayjay,
LOL, as usual Jay jay you have failed to find fault with the core message, and that upsets you and are hence vainly trying to deflect the subject to ‘money’, or something which you can then sink your teeth in and feel good about. Its a Sunday ritual with you.
The other laughable aspect about you is how a self-professed Atheist like you can hastily quote renowned writers with a strong Biblical foundation like Napoleon Hill in trying to support your Atheist views. It takes the term ‘contradicting yourself’ to a whole new level.
I think deep down you are NOT seeking for truth, but seeking attention. Unfortunately, if truth be told, you are making a very bad job of it. But I have to admit you are an entertaining Atheist, who freaks out when a man of God speaks out.

    • My dear friend,
Christianity is just a belief system that I don’t share.
I am human, and a member of a community first, before any belief system.

    • @Cactus
I don’t blame you for thinking again that I’m an atheist, I blame religion indoctrinated within you as you need to pigeon hole me into that for you to have a debate with me just like my aunties, parents and elders at home do as there is no training manual for you guys to respond to someone who is neither religion nor atheist. They never covered this topic in Sunday school so it awkward for you, its easier for you to label me that. I am what your ancestors were before they were corrupted.
As for making references to Napoleon Hill, yes I refer to him and I have his books in arms reach on shelf for daily reference as they are more of motivational books for business and everyday life which even my friends who believe in other faiths like Islam also make reference to.

    • Yes, Sunday is a ritual for me to enlighten myself and read more about self and also to use it an opportunity to enlighten others, to some Sunday is a ritual to dress up and sit in front of a preacher man and be indoctrinated more of the selfsame slave master’s religion.

I won’t tell you to wake up as you have been indoctrinated to a point where you are out of your mind.

  11. It is okay that you are programmed to think within the “box” and only follow/believe what someone tells you to believe, opposed to thinking for yourself. You clearly “overlook” facts in pursuit of attaining your own idea of what you think is “Truth.”

  12. “Until you have learned to be tolerant with those who do not always agree with you; until you have cultivated the habit of saying some kind word of those whom you do not admire; until you have formed the habit of looking for the good instead of the bad there is in others, you will be neither successful nor happy.” Napoleon Hill.

In other words “Do and say to others as you would like others to do and say to you in all seasons of your life”.

LOL Dress code on Sunday, you made me laugh. The Church I go to belongs to a group of Churches called ‘New Frontiers’ (Google it and find out). The dress code you describe is not part of New Frontiers, that’s one of the reasons it is called New frontiers. Scripture says ‘come to me as you are’. So we actually go as we are, i.e. in Jeans, T-

    • Con’d… T- shirts,… comfortable. It’s fun, multi-racial & welcoming to all ages. We are a mixture of all professions, from Doctors, Engineers etc.. to job seekers and students. On first name basis or parental title like ‘Dad’, and Our 20 year old young adult reminds us about Church day before. That’s how attractive it is. A lot of depth in scripture and relates to contemporary living etc.. There are no slave masters, but a rainbow family of Christians.
In 2014, three of the four marriages that took place were interracial. Race is irrelevant. Gives a glimpse of the future that awaits young intelligent people like you Jayjay, if you choose to live in the present, as opposed to the ‘racist spiritual Apartheid’ of the 1950s you advocate for.
      BTW, friends, rational thinking and…

    • You can brand your church whatever name you so wish and inter marry all you want… congratulations with that but that will not change the truth or the fact that our ancestors never openly embraced this religion called Christianity or islam it was forced on us, do not insult my intelligence by telling me like one “street bible basher” who told me Christianity had evolved…how laughable is that evolved like the versions of the bible.
If this fictitious character Jesus were to be a black man the white folks have to worship, do you honestly think Christianity would have survive up to today?

    • The Pathological Effects Of Slavery and Colonialism; The subliminal worship of a white man clearly evident in our society where European standard of beauty is championed among the numerous things to point out.

To care for the relics, words and images of the ancestors of those who worked so diligently to destroy our ancestors is utter treason.

Time to wake a hell out of your ignorance. AND please do not dare to me label me a racist, my fight is not with white people my fight is with white supremacy.

When you understand that there is a big difference between religion and God will you wake up…everything else is hollow noise.

Religions take away our languages religion take away our great stories and traditions, religion made us hate ourselves religion made us slaves (modern…

    • Religion has been the greatest tool ever used to conquer and convert the minds of Black people. We are mostly at war with each other because of religion, there was a reason why the great Patrice Lumumba and Thomas Sankara were against religion as they knew its poisonous effects.

Our Ancestors where not a religious people, they where spiritual people do not forget that. There is a big difference between the two.

Enjoy your week till next time!!

  13. The Religion destroys the morale of the people and implements an unquestionable, patriarchal, God over their head. Biblical verses used by Slave Masters to justify Slavery:
Ephesians 6:4-6: Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but like slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart.

Ephesians 6:9:And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.

    • Colossians 3:22:Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord.

Colossians 4:1:Masters, provide your slaves with what is right and fair, because you know that you also have a Master in heaven.

Titus 2:9:Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them,

1 Peter 2:18:Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh.

    • Slave owners would read these verses to slaves as part of the worship services that they allowed (and controlled) as a means of encouraging the proper attitude among their slaves. Based upon these isolated verses, slave owners claimed that the Bible supported slavery and taught slaves to be obedient to their masters.
This is the selfsame bible our people would kill over …really laughable..a roll of tissue paper in my bathroom is more useful to me.
Wake up people and read more about self your our children’s sake!!

  14. @Jayjay /Maxwell, the racist Atheist Sunday entertainer.
LOL happy now after throwing tantrums like a toddler to seek attention? LOL.
