Kenya international defender David Odhiambo is thrilled to have grabbed a brace when Zesco United thumped Power Dynamos 3-1 in the Samuel “Zoom” Ndhlovu Charity Shield final on Saturday.
Odhiambo was instrumental at Nkana Stadium as Zesco bagged the first silverware on the local football front after he scored two powerful headers off John Ching’andu’s corners in each half.
“It is a good feeling as a player considering that I am new to the league. I know I will be there,” he said.
Odhiambo hopes to score more goals for Zesco.
“God willing you will see more goals,” he said.
Odhiambo added that Zesco’s win over Power is a major boost ahead of their 14th March, CAF Champions League match against Kaloum of Guinea set for Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
“It is a big boost and we are going high knowing that we have come from a win. We are playing at home so there is no other option but to win,” he said.
