Nkana unveil 55-seater luxury team bus

Share

Mopani Copper Mines on Friday unveiled a 55-seater luxury team bus it has procured for the Super League giants Nkana at a cost of $130, 000.

Mopani chief financial officer John Chiwele presented the new bus to Nkana chairman Evaristo Kabila during a ceremony held at Nkana Stadium in
Kitwe.

The Higer bus replaces the Rosa Minibus Nkana have been using since 2013.

“The purchase of a new luxury bus for Nkana Football Club has been long overdue. It is for this reason that as Mopani we are glad that
this has finally come to pass and today we are here to handover a brand new 55-seater luxury Higer bus bought at a cost of $130,000,”
Chiwele said.

Kabila said procuring a luxury team bus for the 12-time Super League champions was a dream come true.

“As chairman, I would like to thank Mopani for showing enduring commitment to supporting Nkana. This is a dream come true for Nkana,”
Kabila said.

Nkana are expected to use the bus on Sunday as they host Red Arrows in their opening 2015 FAZ Super League match at home.

  1. where is the bus LT.. efyo ba bipontela ba KUMA BLOGGERS BA LT.YA SHANI KANSHI??? SO IFII NI NKENCHE YA CICAYA THIS REPORT …KUWAYAWAYAFYE…

    • imagine ba mumbwe aba; we are all rushing to check out the photos of the bus ukusanga tapali…what kind of reporting yamuli kachasu is this?

    • Why don’t they buy buses in USA? $130,000 will be like 5 buses, including shipping.
That Nkana bus might have costed $30,000 but too many brokers and managers involved with commissions and allowances.

  2. Acquiring a bus is not an achievement that one has to make noise about. This is real poverty and that is why our football standards are low. The lowest paid player in the EPL can buy that bus from his wallet.

  3. LT, Is it how low Zambian standards have sunk such that a whole football club acquiring a new bus becomes big news to write about?

  4. Ba Wusakile! For us this is a very big achievement. We know where we’re coming from and also where we’re. We’re not in EPL but in Zambia MTN! Comparing bananas ne fyumbu?

Tusiyeni fwebene ni big milestone! Namumfwa

  5. Nostradamus

What type of bus would you get at $26,000? Bane dont think people at home are clueless. A decent luxurious bus of that capacity wont be less than $100k. unless you referring to those old school buses. We dont need that bwana,

  6. That is not even supposed to be news, only that Zambians are ductile and they will get excited at something of this kind. Those are supposed to ensure the safety of those team on the roads and offer them comfortable roadworthy transportation period. Next we want to see them living in proper houses not ku kapoto!

  7. That’s why i alwas saying the reason we Kalampa went into division one was we did not have enough suport.
Thank GOD mopani came in so will play the game to their expections so that their can have same confindence to our sister club.
On behalf of all Nkana family fans will suport our respected team in peaceful maner(no stones).
“Our eyes are on 13th title this season”.

  8. This is stupidity of the highest order and poor man thinking indeed, this is why our clubs will for ever be silly beggars this is likened to someone who is renting property and opting to buy a brand new Mercedes so he can brag to his neighbours.
Instead of being spoon-fed like a baby at least strive to be sustainable and self-sufficient, why not invent that $130k business to sustain your in the long term ie like replica shirts to sell to supporters or tangible investments ….when are we going to relies that a motor vehicle is a liability and not an asset.

This club never learnt anything from being wholly dependable on ZCCM.

    WAKE UP!!

  9. surely they could have even gone for a new Toyota Coaster bus from Japan or Rosa not that HYGA mwebantu costing $130,000 which wont even last, but pa zed. too much keeping up appearances,no wonder dstv subscription is increased because zambians pay even for stupid programming by multichoice!

  10. The chap claiming a bus is cheaper in us doesn’t know what he’s talking abt.$20 000 is the cost of a good second hand toyota corrolla. A luxury bus costs more than $120 000.
