MMD President Nevers Mumba has declared an end to the hostilities that have rocked the former ruling party.

Dr. Mumba says the holding of the MMD’s first ever National Policy Conference has marked the end of hostilities that had rocked the party in the last three years.

Dr Mumba says all repentant MMD members who committed gross misconduct during the January 20th presidential election are welcome to return to the party.

Speaking when he opened the MMD National Policy Conference (NPC) meant to reinforce the former ruling party’s founding principles and policies in Lusaka today, Dr Mumba has particularly asked former President Rupiah Banda who campaigned for the ruling PF during the January presidential election to support his own party just like all past republican Presidents had been doing after leaving office.

Dr Mumba however states that party members that will persist on fighting the party and its leadership should on the other hand consider forming their own party which they should call United Fighting Party for Zambia.
And Dr Mumba has disclosed that preparations for the MMD convention have begun.

Dr. Mumba says the MMD will immediately launch elections at branch level all the way to the national level.

He says contrary to what has been alleged by some party members calling for the holding of the national convention that he is afraid to go for a convention, he is in fact itching for the convention and is not afraid.

Dr. Mumba however states that the provisions the party constitution on the time to hold the convention will still be followed.

Among the notables that present at the official opening of the MMD NPC which attracted party National Executive Committee (NEC) members from all ten provinces, included Mumbwa and Ikelengi Members of Parliament Brian Chituwo and Elijah Muchima respectively.

MWAMBA YOU ARE A TRAITOR STOP USING VERSES FROM THE BIBLE YOU KILLER .
      BEEN EXPOSED .
YOU ARE VYING FOR KASAMA CENTRAL
      WE KNOW YOU

  1. If you want to have friends be friendly yourself. Nevers Mumba and his friends have taken it upon themselves to fight Mr. Rupiah Banda for whatever reason. What Mr. Mumba and his friends should know is that Mr. Rupiah Banda will never be president again. So is he not flogging a dead horse? If anything, his constant fight with Mr. Banda spearheaded by Mbulakalima and Nakachinda is becoming annoying and very irritating. This is a former head of state for goodness sake, let Mr. Mumba respect RB. For all his defiencies, Mr. RB helped Nevers out of poverty by giving him a job as Zambia’s Ambassador to Canada, surely he has not forgotten that? It is hoped he is making the statement above with conviction. Let him reinstate the people he suspended then he will be taken seriously.

  2. MMD can rise up strong if Nevas can step down and let the true MMD people take over, what he is doing is a sham, He has never been , nor will ever be MMd. Nevas is an oppotunist waiting for any party that will offer him an impresionable position. What happened to the party he formed? NCC died away like a bad smell on a windy day. Nevas has a calling from God to be a fisher of souls? I respected him so much when he had THE ZAMBIA SHALL BE SAVED CRUSADE, Nevas the Lord God ALMIGHTY shall ask of you, what did you do with the talent I gave you? I will answer that one for you. Your answer shall be, Lord I forsook it for greed of money and power.

    • Suggest anyone if there’s any Kubweta who can be better than Nevers in terms of leadership quality in MMD?The moment they choose to vote Nevers out, that will be the end of MMD.It will become a shadow of a party like UNIP.That ‘s one risk MMD should not take.It will be helpful Kubweta if you can come up with better solutions rather than talking for the sake of it.Please suggest anyone in your heart of hearts who you can compare with Nevers in MMD,a person who can stand the test of time and sustain MMD like Nevers as done.Nevers deserves a medal for the hurdles he has conquered for the sake of MMD.

  3. I’m with you on this one my president.Your time will surely come.It may tarry, but wait for it.Persistence overcomes resistance.Mupamapamo atulile ingoma!

  4. Once people lose confidence in a political party especially former ruling parties subject to public treatment during it’s hey days, rejuvention may be impossible. Read the signs of time and pave way for other parties. Beutifying them with new policies and slogans is a waste of time. We now live past that era.

  5. Imagine if during the convention the following showed up to contest
Mind you this is the original BLUE.
    Mbira Chitala
    Mbikusita Akashambatwa
    Godfrey Miyanda
    Edith Nawakwi
    Vernon Mwaanga
    Mike Mlongoti
    Dora Siliya
Just to mention a few, this Nevers Mumba will not know what will hit him.
    I have not included myself.

  6. It was preporstrously shameful for Nevers to manage only a total of about 15000 votes from ten regions of Zambia. In any case that arrongance which forced Levy to fire him persists.

    • You are short sighted on this one DM.There were a lot of factors that contributed to such a great loss and you cannot pin point your claim based on a single individual. You are a bit unfair DM.Nevers is the man of the hour.

  7. Nevers is finished and wasted. In any case there has been no start for Nevers in politics. All that he touches fails. You can imagine , where are all these thousands of Pentecostal churches during the last elections? Only a few voted for Nevers……

  8. Everyone takes him for a joker now. Even his fellow pastors did not vote for him. I wonder if Chitimukulu did!!!

  9. Leave Mumba alone, other presidential candidates have participated several times and failed. Mumba just stood once and you talk as if this is the fifth or so times. Watch his space

    • Mumba will stand 54 times but will still come out with 15,000 votes even when the voter register will be indicating 10,000, 000 registered voters.
