    • Beware of ZTE and Huawei. I sincerely pray the President is not being duped by Mukanga long acquired and maintained by Huawei to finally surrender our Telco market to Huawei or ZTE. Mukanga has been in on the payroll of these Chinese companies the President better watch his pushing. Our networks all managed by these 2 Chinese companies are already in a mess. Look at Zamtel, Airtel or MTN. These services are not worth paying for. Other than spying technologies, Chinese have a long way on telco technology. Its trial and error.

    • Ama Zambians twalitemwa ukujama. This reminds me of my first job and my first pay cheque. I went jamming to all the drinking places I could think of. I only went back to work when I got broke. By then it was too late….. I got fired.

    • This is in a province naiwe…He already met and shared with the Chinese President and was honoured to even inspect a guard of honour.

    • I would have liked the President to concentrate on inviting to Zambia manufacturers/producers and not marketing companies. I have said so because by so doing, the country like Zambia which needs a lot of production industries may end up creating even more jobs for the chinese in China and not in Zambia which will always end up as a consumer with cheap Chinese products. Until Zambia and Zambians started looking at quality and not quantity and cheap pricing, Zambia may end up as a dumping ground for these cheap products. In the same verne, GRZ should formulate strict quality assurance policies and guidelines which the chinese companies should strictly follow.

    • Could be disastrous if ECL fell from that plane onto the ground. Stop global-trotting. RB was global-trotting becoz ninshimbi. This is what you voted for, thank you na Zambia. Next the great European tour, India or Israel. Fyabupubafye ifi.

    • Why did Edgar let ba Ester follow him? Look at those slits in the chinese women, kulabundwinlako fye ba Edgar. Mwalabwelako fye no taste aya tuma chinese…

    • Lungu should just come back home. Almost the entire cabinet is following everywhere & the economy is in limbo.

The entire entourage of PF is going to beg for more Kaloba b’coz China needs its dues. Otherwise more copper to its drinking smelter.

A whole lot of a president begging on a telecoms entity is shocking, what’s the purpose of having diplomats’?

Just tell people if its a traveling showcase medical tourism, otherwise Lungu must go back home, the economy and kwacha with fuel shortages are waiting.

Even comrade Chikwanda, the economy & kwacha have rotted, meanwhile bandits are seeking for more Kaloba.
      Kamwendoz munjila ba mambala!

      The Skeleton Key

    • The president missed a big opportunity to entice the Chinese president to help as improve our food production technologies, general manufacturing and how to control climate change in connection to water harvesting and irrigation technologies. What does he want from telecommunications companies if not soliciting for spying technologies, to shield himself from public scrutiny and constructive criticism. Our problem is Hunger and poverty in General. Fellow Zambians we need good leaders who will not fear the media, but strive to reduce poverty which is number one enemy.

  1. He is already met the president of China. I feel this is good to meet the grass roots of China. And these are the people who drive the economy of China.

  3. HH speech in London was very intelligent. Watch it on watchdog. Ba LT when are you going to post a report about it?

  4. Some people will die without testing the leadership of HH. In case you have a little bit of hope that one day he will be president forget. There are beta people who can lead Zambia than HH. We voted for the clueless and visionless Lungu because his message was clear and true. Just take a closer look at Upnd empty promises and compare them to Pf and see which ones are putting good on people’s tables. This is just the genesis of things. What more….

    • Muli chipuba tata imwee-you must be living on another planet or you must be one of those brain washed pf cadres who refuse to see reality!

    • I am sure you know that this country is sinking down and you are busy posting rubbish here when in your own house you don’t have food. HH can fly anywhere using his money, EL cant because this chap is feasting on our money, time will come when those voting with closed eyes will cry forever and it will be too late,

    • @Spong bob like your name suggests, you are busy deceiving your self. Its Zambia and Zambians who need HH.HH presents practical entrepreneurial skills and knowledge based leadership. The net looser is Zambia ,HH is already worth . It not the Tongas only that will be affected by this economy, but all of us. Lets not be shallow in thinking to align everything to tribe, even when its for good of society.2016 will represent a new thinking among youths who will speak loud. The youths come from mixed families with names like kaite Moono,Chipego Lubinda and Chanda Mbewe ,these are the saviors’ of Zambia not ancient dinosaurs with ancient historical believes and values. They have remained backwards and think every one will join them in there tribal crusades. The reality is we the youths need…

    • These are tax payers suits. ECL could not afford any decent suit before Plot 1.

Admire Mulongoti, Chipimo, Nawakwi, and HH suits/houses if you have to be impressed.

  5. I hope the visit was not an exercise in futility. Let’s just wait to see the implementation of all the promises made.

    • Oh really? Are you sure this is true for every leadership this world has had? Pharaoh, Attlia the Hun, Vlad Tepes, Adolf Hitler, Pol Pot, Idi Amin, August Pinochet, Francois Duvalier, Francisco Fraco, Saddam Hussen and the like. These were brutal leaders and killers of their own people; and you say God had a hand in it?

    • There is a purpose for God to choose that leader. Either people to learn something or the leader to learn something. Even the brutalist leaders if God wants he could have removed him immediately but He so that you can learn one or two things. For example the Joseph’s brothers sold him, who new that the man will be in-charge of food security in Egypt? Genesis CH 43-50

    • To shoot your way killing fellow man into leadership is not the will of God. Not true. The Joseph story was a peaceful transition though trying, but he did not kill anybody. Make the difference, do not pass sweeping statements. I make this observation away from Zambian politics, if that is comforting.

    • @ 6 MIGHTY SHANSHA

Don’t pull God into everything that happens. He gave us brains to think and reason with. He expects us to use our brains to wisely select and choose our leaders. If we go to the polls and vote for a sick president, as we did in the case of Sata and later in quick succession, Lungu, we cannot turn around and blame God for giving us sick presidents. It only shows that we, ourselves are sick mentally. Otherwise, we would have stayed away from choosing a person who is already sick to be our president. In this respect, Zambia is like no other country in the whole world – the dullest of all people. What a shame!

  6. @Sponge bob: In politics, anything is possible. Nigeria’s opposition candidate ousted a SITTING president just yesterday. Do not underestimate HH. Nothing lasts forever.

    • Nothing lasts forever yes but mwana patali ukuwina HH this time around…..guess what I voted for UPND in the last election as a protest vote to PF’s misrue in the last 3 yrs but the last three months of EL’s rule wont even make look at the UPND…..Never.EL in the last three months has given me so much hope coz he has addressed all the issues that i personally disliked about PF…..The mine impasse……replacing that stooge of a BOZ gorvenor the TAZARA stand off upping the reserve ratio for commercial banks and finally putting us back on a good footing with china……by August the sun will shine on mother Zambia again…..And believe you me I am not the only one thinking like this……EL will just be like LEVY ….

  7. Are there no fashion pundits in Zambia who can help the first chair lady of chawama market? For goodness sake she is carrying the image of the country. or can she sit down with Christine Kaseba to learn one or two things on fashion.

  8. What’s the deal with the constant clasping of your hands Mr President?

Do we need a Presidential mission on anything to do with Telcos? This is a sector that is very ably handled by the private sector and has already seen massive investment in Zambia. The only reason I see wht government would want to be intimately involved in this sector is to ensure its ability to spy on its citizens. In any case this is what the Chinese are best known for when it comes in Telecommunications.

    • Kickbacks hence the reason for pushing for electronic voting and other advances…you just wait and see how GRZ will single source these selfsame tech contracts in the next coming months!!

  9. The president of a poor country with deficit in budget going around asking for more kaloba. surely when shall we be self reliant. I tell you me given a chance to rule Zambia I would make sure every person making money for a living. We can not afford to borrow when kaponyas are making tax free money at towncentre.
I have never seen or heard that Tony Abott has gone out of Australia for 1 week. There would be public backlash immediately. President should be home and leave commerce and trade minister/permanent secretary to look for investors. I have no issues with president traveling but this is miss management of resources.
The problem with Africa is that the president is like the master solver of every problem and that

    • Its called work ethic, Edgar is lazy just look at his CV..its only in Zambian where we tolerate such laziness!!

  10. SHAME !! WD!! SHAME!!! ECL looks dapper, neat, elegant, dashing, debonair, snazzy, sharp, name it. Ngawakana ninshi ulimwana wandoshi…..

    • That’s because you are now paying for his “dapper, neat, elegant, dashing, debonair, snazzy, sharp” suits and your sleepy docile self doesn’t even know it!!

  11. ECL should look at long lasting solutions in creating employment and alleviating poverty by doing more in sectors like agriculcure and tourism. We need planners and big thinkers (techies) in the agriculture and tourism sectors and not politicians.

    • You can take a horse to a pond to drink water BUT you can not force it to drink it…this man has no vision hence he is wasting time there when he should be urgently attending to the economy. Remember Sata’s visit to south Korea at Samsung what became of that?

  12. Mobile phone business. What a hopeless venture. People are not going to benefit from a mobile phone investment. People need investment in the agriculture , forestry ,energy generating schemes ,sewage and water systems not a bloody mobile phone industry which is just going to suck the people out of their hard earned cash.

    • All those schemes you have mentioned take time and planning for this very lazy man…its also very hard to get kickbacks from them where as mobilephone and telecom contracts its easier!!

  13. “The Head of State will have bilateral talks with municipal leaders and will be later joined by first lady Esther to attend a banquet that will be hosted in his honour.”

This is man is truly a very lazy visionless empty vessel, why is busy still wasting time in China, sight seeing…what bilateral talks is a president going to have with municipal leaders, shouldn’t the minister of local government or a mayor be doing this…this lazy man should have been back in his office by now. what are his priorities?

Zambians are going NOWHERE under Edgar Lazy!!

  14. ECL has been criticised unfairly for the following reasosn;
    1. it is too early, 2 months into power to warrant all this criticism
    2. I believe that past regimes were tribal in appointments and there was too much nepotism and this badly affected public services delivery
    3. ECL is trying to correct that. There was too much BEMBA in this country (I am partly bemba myself) but I firmly believe in competition to leadership and the best should rule.
    4. ECL will stop the nonsense at BURSARIES and from now on children should be considered on merit
    5. The appointment of Inonge Wina is no mean achievement. All of us who believe in fairness, this came at the right time. My goodness, some women are not happy!!! Be happy please. You will not get another ECL!!!! LoL

    • @otega,Do you expect anything good coming from people who are haters? I totally agree with you, its to early to start judging him. Let us not be critical and judgmental always. Let us also show love towards one another because we won’t get anything from hatred.

  15. Umuswema na ka Jay Jay …. who do you think you are putting ECL down. Ka muswema, what are your qualification and why didn’t you stand for the presidency? Ka Jay Jay I know ni diaper.com ku States

    • I do not know where you are or what, who is in your circle of friends but one thing I can tell you is that you have an old image and mindset of what people in diaspora are doing; one thing I can tell you is that what I put in hours in a week at my workplace is what you lazy president puts in in a month and doesn’t produce any results.

  16. Aba bonse against EL nibangwele bakalusa nakabili
PF is getting all the 3 MP by elections and 80% of wards. This give you where we are heading.
Zambians are not blind to be cheated by power hungry hyenas. They know that commodity prices have fallen including copper. Currencies of various countries have depreciated and Zambia is also hit. It is not our problem if you cannot see this. Mmembe is trying all sorts of mudslinging and very few are paying attention to him except the hired guns who also have no grassroots support lime Sondashi, Nawakwi. Come 2016, 2021, EL is winning. 5 =0 U5 lose again

  17. Why does Changwa always folds hands even when coming from a plane or walking. If he is to fall how can he protect himself? he says don’t dump products on Zambia and he is begging them to bring their use.le.ss phone products to Zambia. He just want to have them spy on our people as revealed by ZWD

    • He clasps his hands like that because docile people see that as a sign of humbleness but its a sign of being unconfident and unsure of your position; the man is visionless and you have put him in an office where he has no clue what to do, its like putting you in the captains seat of an Airbus A320 at 20,000 feet in a thunderstorm…you only see men acting like that in that posture when they are at the in-laws house.

  18. ?@sponge bob, did you know that LUNGU is maximising his chances of seeing some of these places, because as things stand now, he is a lame dack who can not be re-elected unless people are blind to see.

  19. @Rasco

If we are not going to vote for el we will vote someone else but not hh. Supporters of hh are the ones who have people to dislike him. You guys suck and yo comments are so hurtful and we will make sure that yu remain in opposition forever. HH stands a better chance if he left Upnd and joined Pf or other parties. Otherwise he will continue losing. What I ‘ve told yu is the fact.

    • @Sponge Bob if HH is not a factor why talk about him. Leave alone. If you don’t like don’t we don’t like him. We are also Zambians with democratic rights to vote. if Buhari has won and HH can win. So don’t be scared he will not chase out of Zambia, in fact you will benefit from his rule.Do you think PF will rule Zambia for ever? certainly not.MMD was there and it left just like might UNIP and PF is leaving next year for good.

  20. If you are elected as President of a country and discover that your predecessor did not leave any money in the coffers. Apart from that, your predecessor left a lot of debt and you are obliged to pay the debt . This is what you do
    1. If you are smart or clever you will want to find new sources of revenue at almost zero interest rates by duping or lobbying or pleading with foreign investors to bring in more cash and investment
2.Try to convince or lobby with resourceful local investors to invest more into the economy with good incentives given to them e.g mines or big farming conglomerates
3.Ensure that ZRA is efficient by collecting ,efficiently and adequately what is due to the state
    4. Cut back government expenditure.
I guess Edgar has done most of it apart from cutting expenditure

    • But what if you were part of your predecessor’s cabinet and you acted as president when he was away getting treatment and you stood on a ticket of continuity? What is your excuse then?

  21. Well,Mr President my humble opinion is that focus should be within when it comes to investment. What should we be doing to encourage the local investor instead of calling for outside help always. We have to be brave enough to sacrifice for year so we could be truly in-dependent.As it were, though competition may be good,we have enough providers in the sector heating the headlines.Better still we could support African and regional providers whose shares are held mostly by Africans.E.g.econet.Then again media can be exaggerating items. All I am trying to ask is that when are we going to start working for future generations and not inslaving them ?

  22. @ Sido Mark: Thanks for rubberstamping my opinion that nothing lasts for ever and Buhari’s election. Remind Sponge Bob that their is nothing humiliating as a sitting president becoming an opposition leader after being voted out. Its rather unfortunate to provoke other tribes simply because the president is from your tribe yet you are sharing similar problems. We are living in a new era opposed to myopic politics.

  23. @man kenya@sido Mark

Do you have any idea what led the opposition leader in Nigeria to win. It takes a revolution to unseat the ruling party not what we are seeing among opposition. When you hear us revolt against Pf thats when you should start thinking of a change in govt. For now forget. Try us in 2026.

  24. Someone please advise Esther Lungu on how to dress. She is embarrassing us.The husband looks smart but she has no clue how to wear clothes that will flatter her. That top and skirt. Especially the top showing love handles and stomach.
