Kabwe youths advise others to create own employment

Share

Two youths in Kabwe have called on other young people to be creative and create employment for themselves.

Teddy Kabwe, who graduated from Kabwe Trades Training Institute, said self-employment has helped him build a house and create employment for five other young people.

Kabwe said young people should not only look at white collar jobs as the only jobs they could do but look at other avenues in the informal sector.

“I graduated from Kabwe Trades Training Institute in 2010 with a certificate in Metal Fabrication and I just decided to form my own company after facing challenges in finding employment,” he said.

Kabwe said he has since managed to acquire two plots and he is almost finishing constructing his first house.

“I have also managed to create jobs for five young people who are also looking after their families,” Kabwe added.

And Suzen Lano, an electrician by profession, called on young people to think outside the box and not wait to be employed.

Lano told a ZANIS crew that young people should use their skills to create employment for themselves.

“Job creation should not be seen as a preserve for government alone but also requires that other stakeholders, especially the youths who form the biggest share of the unemployment levels, participate in creating jobs for themselves,” she said.

Lano added that youths especially those who have gained some skills should start using the knowledge they have acquired to create jobs for themselves and other young people.

She also appealed to government to promote the learning of culture especially for the young people.

  1. If all young people begin thinking like the youth above, Zambia will soon be an economic force to reckon with. In sharp contrast to those loony ‘graduates’ who think it’s the govt’s job to secure them employment. They are not even able to see that the current govt is clueless and absolutely has no idea how to go about creating the needed jobs. There’s something seriously crackpot about these ‘graduates logic. They have been witnesses of the fact that since independence the govt has only managed to improve the numbers of poverty stricken masses from 60% to the current 86%. These pathetic stats should galvanise them to act and do something about their circumstances, certainly not wait for the govt to create a job for them. Hard to believe that our govt is a total failure, but it’s…

  3. Everybody I have talked to that has start using the Internet eventually asks the question: How can I make money online? And for most people, they never learn what they need to do in order to make a couple hundred to thousands of dollars online.

Everybody wants to make money online, but very few people know where to start. For most people it comes down to having to learn advanced skills that they never have time to master, resulting in the feeling of helplessness about making money online.

Luckily for me, I found an easy way around that about a year ago. Instead of trying to learn crazy web languages or graphic design, I started search for nontechnical ways to make money online. This led me to taking paid surveys online.

One of the great things about the Internet is that it can…

  4. Many people want to make money at home and they want to find a work at home job to do it with. Ultimately what happens is they become frustrated as they search from website to website looking for the right job. This brings up the question, why are work at home jobs so hard to find? In this article we will take an honest look at this problem.

    1. First of all you should know that most of the opportunities to work at home are not actually paid jobs. This is true because most employers do not know you and have no control over the work environment when you do it from the comfort of your own home.

If you realistically think about this, why would someone pay you an hourly rate when they do not know if you are really working or not? Therefore many of the opportunities to work at home are…

  5. There are many ways to make extra money in your free time, but there are very few that are as easy as filling out a couple surveys. A few hundred dollars a day can easily be earned just with the click of the mouse because your opinion counts.

Paid survey companies work with major corporations to organize and provide opinions from everyday consumers. As a result of your valuable feedback, you can earn quick money. Some questions are multiple choice, while others may require some writing. Either way, it is entirely possible with the right survey program to earn and extra $200 a day.

This is not difficult work. If you have a job with a computer, you can quickly complete a few surveys during your lunch break. If you don’t mind having a laptop in front of you while you unwind and watch…
