MINISTER OF Education Michael Kaingu has cautioned civil servants against ‘hanging on’ to something that is not working, in reference to the United Party for National Development (UPND).
Dr Kaingu said the UPND has penetrated the Lozi people of Western Province through traditional cousinship which is lop-sided.
He urged public service workers to stop being competitors with Government, which pays them salaries.
Dr Kaingu said workers should be patient with the PF since it is a better government than the MMD and is making efforts to grow the economy aimed at improving people’s welfare.
“This government is better than the previous one, don’t argue because I also served in that government and the reason why we [MMD] lost was because of not listening to the concerns of workers but this government almost doubled your salaries. So why are you fighting a government that is doing its best to grow the economy and improve your welfare?” he asked.
“If it is you teachers, I fail to understand where the discontent is coming from because you now have opportunities to upgrade skills up to PhD level but if you have insatiable appetite for politics, join PF since it is safer to play politics with government of the day,” he said.
He said Government does not want public workers to be its enemies.
“But when you play partisan politics by supporting the opposition, you shall become our enemy and we shall not hesitate to terminate your employment because you are supposed to work with the government of the day.
“It is surprising that you are hanging on to something [UPND] that is not working.
“Open your eyes and direct your energies to our winning team,” Dr Kaingu said during a series of meetings with public service workers in Shangombo and Sioma districts.
He said opposition parties, especially the UPND, have become irrational in criticising Government.
“Whenever President Lungu travels out to woo investors, they complain as if they can provide the much needed investment required in developing the country. They have become very petty but the problem is with us [Lozi] since we have been supporting them and they have taken advantage of our cousinship but it is time to sweep them off,” Dr Kaingu said.
“President Lungu has shown us that he is humble and gave us a Republican Vice-President despite giving him zero votes,” he said
Well defined sentiments coming from the wrong person.
Until now, I did not know Kaingu was such a dull guy. What a load of manure! Contradictory manure, stinking to high heavens.
He tells civil servants that he worked in the government that lost.
He then assigns reasons why they lost
Before his lips even dry, he begins to scold them for lodging their complaints.
Then the id!0t tells them not to complain
Because they would be perceived as political enemies and have their employment terminated.

You think development can come with leaders who think like that.To him,appointing himself and Inonge in govt is development for western province.Rubbish.

Civil servants you have heard. It is safer to play politics with the ruling party because they pay you salaries.
However civil servants are supposed to be non partisan but only talks thru the ballot box.

Foolish thinking from Dr. Kaingu. How dull can he be and sinking so low because he has been given a post. If I was a president I would have fired him on the spot. Civil servants do not work like party cadres, they are professions regardless their political affiliation they will discharged duties without fail or favourite. I am ashamed to have Dr. Kaingu has a minister. Like Mr. Kaingu’ s thinking is what has brought Zambia in poverty. I wonder whether his Doctorate is useful to Zambia or just a paper for decoration. I do not expect that a doctor would absolutely sink so low to keep the job to please the master at the expense of the country. Most of you doctors have let down this country for the love of money instead of serving people sincerely.
Kaingu is married to two wives. And, now he is also “married” to two political parties. He gets pleasure of the soul from both I guess! Forget about development from such kadyas

Bo Kaingu am very disappointed with you how do you talk ill of MMD the Party on whose ticket you are MP and Minister please apologize to us MMD members. I know you don’t want NEVERS MUMBA to be MMD President, but you should spare the Party, genuine members of this great party are busy mobilizing themselves to remove NEVERS MUMBA and then after enter into a well organised electoral pact with PF for 2016, because you should not cheat yourself that PF on its own can win 2016 nipatali so please don’t insult MMD its your party. Even the young MMD MPs who joined PF govt long time of SATA have behaved well towards its party MMD and you were in forefront calling for their expulsion that time you were Vice to NEVERS, surely what has changed today for you to talk like that against MMD?
