MMD Mourns Mazabuka and Kafue Accident Victims

Share

Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD) Party Spokesperson Mr. Raphael Nakacinda has expressed profound sorrow at the tragic loss of 49 lives in the 291 road traffic accidents recorded over the just-ended Easter period in Mazabuka, Kafue and other areas of Zambia.

He said that on behalf of Party President Dr. Nevers Mumba and the entire party membership countrywide, the MMD extends heartfelt condolences to the families of the affected victims and wishes them God’s comfort as they go through this very difficult time of their loss.

He further said that was particularly sad that during the Easter period when the whole world was celebrating the giving of eternal life to humanity through the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, some were faced with the unfortunate loss of lives of loved ones.

Mr. Nakacinda indicated that the accidents were a wake-up call for the authorities to double-up efforts to assess and make structural changes to the many accident black-spots in the country such as the Mazabuka Shoprite junction to avert any potential loss of life in the future.

He further indicated that it is the hope of the MMD that government will make prudent use of the Euro-bond that was apportioned to Zambia Railways and the additional loans they have recently acquired to include modernization of railway crossing signals and barriers along the entire railway system from Chililabombwe to Livingstone to avert any future accidents such as the one at the Kafue railway crossing.

  1. PF government has never been emotion or care about the suffering.
They never even mourned Sata, they were busy suspending each other. Even to Nsanda we had to force Edgar to fly to Kitwe, 2 weeks after burial. Fi bantu fyashani kanshi, as if they don’t have a first lady to advise them of how to treat ifililo.
MMD has a culture, Chiluba, Mwanawasa, RB and now Mumba all mourn and weep in public.

    • Zambians have to start respecting rules; there’s no way people can be driving at 160 KM/h in a two way road with so many pedestrians. Had the driver been following the rules, he would have known rail crossings, whether marked or not, need to be approached with caution. The solution is just revoking driver’s licenses and de registering bus companies.

  2. Indeed that traggedy has left a deep scar of sadness to the bereaved family, may God be with their families in this trying moments.

  3. Good response indeed to MMD over lost Zambian lives. Where is PF? They are only quick to speak when it involves money or their personalities, shame!Honestly,if satan would feel remorse over his direct evil acts on mankind what more human beings or his agents!
