Zambia in make-or-break All-Africa Games decider

Zambia and Nigeria Under-23 teams’ clash in a 2015 All-Africa Games qualifying decider at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka on Sunday.

The two sides are scoreless from the final round, first leg qualifier played in Abuja on March 22.

Fighton Simukonda’s team need a win on Sunday afternoon to book their place at the All-Africa Games that will be hosted by Congo-Brazzaville from September 4-19.

“Nigeria is a good side, they have a good record but my players also know the importance of this game and what is at stake,” Simukonda said.

“We don’t want to sleep, all we want is to defeat Nigeria and qualify to the All-Africa Games slated for Congo Brazzaville.”

The pressure is very much on Zambia to win.

This is after they failed to qualify four years ago when they broke their qualification cycle for the 2011 Games in Mozambique under Lucky Msiska after previously participating in each of the previous four tournaments since 1995; winning silver in 1999 and finishing fourth in 2003 and 2007.
