PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has urged Patriotic Front (PF) members in Southern province to be patriotic and love one another to strengthen the ruling party.

And PF Media Director Brian Hapunda has thanked President Lungu for putting the people of Southern Province close to his heart.

Mr Lungu, whose presidential jet left the airport around 20:30 hours, said also encouraged PF members in the province to speak out where they wanted solutions.

He was addressing PF supporters at Livingstone yesterday at Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula International Airport before his departure for the 2015 Zambia Open Golf Tournament to be held in Kitwe at Nkana Golf Club

Mr Lungu, who gestured a sign of his love for party officials in
Southern province shortly before leaving the airport, urged members to avoid being intimidated by anyone saying he was ready to listen to their grievances and offer solutions.

“I care for all of you and no one should intimidate anyone from joining a party of your own choice because that is democracy,” Mr Lungu said.

Earlier during the day in Livingstone yesterday, Mr Lungu briefly interacted with curio traders as well as tourists at Victoria Falls Curio Market where he bought a walking stick.

Meanwhile, Mr Hapunda thanked Mr Lungu for being passionate and loving the people of Southern Province.

In an interview at Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula International airport yesterday, Mr Lungu would be returning to Southern Province within a month to conduct the first ever countrywide party mobilisation tour.

Mr Hapunda said Mr Lungu disclosed this when he met PF provincial officials for Southern Province yesterday at Sun International Zambia.

“During the meeting, President Lungu promised the PF provincial executive in Southern Province that he will come back to the province in the next one month for a political party mobilisation.

“Mr Lungu has tasked the provincial executive to prepare for the political party mobilization tour. This is a wonderful gesture and we would like to thank the President for that,” he said.

The President will tour the whole country on the same mission but he will start with Southern Province.

Mr Hapunda said President Lungu assured the PF leadership in Southern Province that they would soon receive two vehicles for party mobilisation.

He said the Head of State called for harmony, discipline and hard work among PF officials in the province for the ruling party to grow.

The President reiterated his call for party members to embrace new comers and warned strongly against any PF member who would bully or discredit other members.

On the other hand, President Lungu said the country was prepared to mitigate the looming hunger in some parts of the country.

During the same meeting with party officials, Southern Province PF chairperson Charles Hamududu thanked Lungu for sparing time to meet the provincial executive despite his busy schedule.

  3. This no vision president of Zambia has to be serious with his responsibilities at hand… He’s now changed from loitering abroad to loitering locally burning the expensive JET A fuel for the challenger… This Lungu has to step up if he wants the Zambians to appreciate his presidency.. He can’t think that by gracing or rather accepting invitations to attend functions or games then the Zambian economy will improve.. No ways….. It’s like the man has no idea of confronting the challenges facing Zambia..

Zambians expect him to provide policy guideline on how unemployment will be tackled as well as an industrial policy of how industries can be created in the country…. Not going to attend a golf tournament… Aikoooona!

  4. A head of state must be seen to show keen intrest in all sports discplines in the country. The tournamet at hand is Zambia open bringing in foreign players and from my own understanding most golf players are business persons and business executives. This said the president could use this forum to woe in our much needed investors into our ailing economy.Keep it up EL.We know your enemies are chocking with envy with the successes you have scored in the short period of your presidency.

  5. There’s no way these Pathetic Fascists can love each other. There’s no honour and love among thieves.
