TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
One translation of today’s verse says, “Love looks for a way to be constructive.” In other words, love looks for ways to improve someone else’s life. Love brings out the best in other people. Don’t just get up in the morning thinking about yourself or how you can make your own life better. Think about how you can make someone else’s life better.
Ask yourself, “Who can I encourage today?” “Who can I build up?” Someone in your life needs your encouragement. Someone in your life needs to know that you believe in them.
I believe God will hold us responsible for the people He’s put in our lives. He’s counting on us to bring out the best in our family and friends.
Are you improving the lives of those around you? Are you giving them confidence? Ask the Lord to give you creative ways to invest in those around you. As you sow seeds of encouragement and bring out the best in others, God will send people along your path that will build you up, too and help you move forward into the blessing He has in store for you!

Father, thank You for loving me. Thank You for believing in me and always building me up. I ask that You show me creative ways to encourage and build up the people around me. Help me to be an example of Your love today and always in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Ethiopian Israelis clash with police in Tel Aviv

Tel Aviv – Israeli mounted police charged hundreds of ethnic Ethiopian citizens and fired stun grenades on Sunday to try to clear one of the most violent protests in memory in the heart of Tel Aviv.
The protesters, Israeli Jews of Ethiopian origin, were demonstrating against what they say is police racism and brutality after the emergence last week of a video clip that showed policemen shoving and punching a black soldier.
Demonstrators overturned a police car and threw bottles and stones at officers in riot gear at Rabin Square in the heart of Israel’s commercial capital. At least 20 officers were injured and a number of protesters were arrested, police said……..

Israel sees migrant tragedy as validating policy

Jerusalem – Israel said on Monday the drowning of hundreds of Africans off Libya’s coast was tragic but validated its own policy of having buffered its land barriers with Africa to keep migrants away.
Yisrael Katz, transport minister in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s outgoing cabinet, called the deaths in the Mediterranean a “tragedy that shocks all humanity” which also showcases Europe’s difficulties in handling the migrant flow.
“Look at how correct the [Israeli] government’s policy was to build a fence along the border with Egypt to block the way to labour migrants from Africa from reaching Israel,”

The gap between the world of the believers and the faithless is so deep and profound that it really marks a rift in the species, a biological differentiation between the thinkers and the drones. Everything in our modern world from space travel to electronics to modern medical care is a result of the rational thinkers, the people who have ceased to believe in and use God as their guidance at least long enough to function productively according to rational thought. The sky won’t come crashing down upon us all when we challenge the authenticity of religion and beliefs.

Please note that contemporary science actually acknowledges the existence of the supernatural, in order to try and understand the the natural. From nanotechnology to the observable universe. Since 2013 it has jailed hundreds of more than 40 000 African migrants, many of them having fled from troubled Eritrea and Sudan. Human rights groups charge this policy coerces many people eligible for refugee protection to seek repatriation at personal risk.
In addition to those held in a desert detention centre, thousands have received temporary visas and live in crowded impoverished parts of Israel and its business hub of Tel Aviv.
Israeli law grants automatic citizenship to Jews. The authorities have denied most Africans residency, shunning them as “infiltrators” seeking jobs rather than refuge.
