  1. My first job as a pupil teacher, I got a complaint from headmaster that I was putting too much garlic in kapenta. So I quit Kapenta. I started buying live chickens, from exchanging caps, jeans, and T-shirts.
The same headmaster complained of me having too many cocks, which where a nuisance to me and his hears. I gave him 2 out of 5, he stopped complaining.
That very month-end he sent me to go and collect our 7 teachers salaries, with his 21- year-old born-daughter, I was 22. When I can with all sealed salaries, including mine, he asked me if his daughter can be my room-mate and teach me how to cook Kapenta.
That is how you treat neighbors over chicken nuisance ….. don’t call the council police.

  2. Do we even have any enforceable by- laws? I believe we have become a ‘free for all’ society without any fear of consequences.Just to mention a few ‘do what you want’ –
    1 Unchecked street vending.
2 Throwing litter anywhere has become the norm.
3 Taverns next to residential neighborhoods further compounded with loud music.

  3. No one likes living next to an ugly, smelly mess. Keeping their environment clean will reduce the risk of disease and parasites and it’ll also keep their neighbors from complaining.

  4. That’s why I’m in no hurry to build a house in Zed with this all housing boom. Just because every one is erecting one does not mean I should. At least this time in my life will have to choose whether to have neighbours or not. A property on a bigger land with them a km away will be much better. None of them will be snooping around my house.

  5. … I feel sorry for families who have asthmatic children as chicken runs more often than not trigger asthmatic attacks.

I hope there will be a mutual understanding in resolving this issue amicably.

  6. We want to be self reliant we commit a crime. What is wrong with Zambians. Ms Nyendwa just cant raise Capital to start her own chicken run that is all.

  7. Given a choice between a prepackaged frozen chicken and and a yummy freshly slaughtered one dripping with blood, I pick the latter. Without hesitation.
