Forum for Democratic Process Executive Director MacDonald Chipenzi has denied having any links to the opposition UPND.
Mr Chipenzi has also rubbished reports that he is seeking to stand for election as Siavonga MP in 2016 on the UPND ticket.
He said such reports are a creation of his enemies who are interested in diverting his attention from the constitution making process.
Mr Chipenzi said he has no intentions of going into active politics for now but that he will make it public when time comes for him to go into politics.
He stressed that his main preoccupation now is to fight for the enactment of a people driven constitution.
‘My detractors are trying to use some unorthodox methods to try and dilute my resolve as a person and that of the organization to fight for a new people driven constitution but I must assure them that on the people driven constitution, am resolved, regardless of what mud they want to through at me, what water they want to throw on me. My faith shall not be washed away by what they will bring on me,’ Mr Chipenzi said.
He added, ‘It doesn’t matter if I decide to go elsewhere. These reports about me and the UPNDS are unfortunate stories. If I want to stand, I will do that and I will appoint my spokesperson to speak for me.’
Mr Chipenzi clarified that the only association he has with the UPND is because of the fact that the party is a member of the Grand Coalition fighting for a new people driven constitution.
‘Before 2011, we all as NGOs supported the PF because they promised us a new constitution within 90 days. UPND is a member of the Grand Coalition and we are fighting this battle together, so we may join hands on similar issues but that does not mean I support the party,’ Mr Chpenzi said.
He said he has no interest in vying for the Siavonga seat because he does not even come from Siavonga but Chirundu.

Mr.Chipenzi, you are most welcome to UPND and so are all progressive Zambians. Those that want a good constitution, this that are against repression and for freedom of expression and assembly are welcome to the UPND. Those that are against the archaic colonial Public Order Act, are welcome to the UPND.

Just wondering…………. at the time of his birth Chirundu used to be part of Siavonga and I think Chirundu is politically still under Siavonga. To say he comes from Chirundu and not Siavonga is not a good enough reason why he can’t stand in Siavonga if he so wishes.
Have you ever head of anyone accepting any thing good? I thought it was in our culture, even when you are given some thing by some one and say thank you to him or her, usually they would say AA TAPALI, NEE mbubo, Iyayi Musakambe coco, AA Aki”cwalo. Arrest Chipenzi for actively engaging in xenophobia. “He said he has no interest in vying for the Siavonga seat because he does not even come from Siavonga but Chirundu.” This statement alone is evidence enough that Chipenzi is xenophobic against the people of Siavonga. His denial of being UPND cadre is hollow. UPND membership is ingrained all over his body. It is his trade mark.

What more proof do you people want that this guy has lined himself up for the Siavonga seat. He is just waiting for the UPND to start the process of adoption and he will apply. That is what he means when he says that he will announce when the time comes.

What this Chimpanzee is not telling Zambians is whether the constitution content will be different if enacted through parliament or referendum.

I have always said that these NGOs including my Caritas are now composed of people who have political ambitions. All they do is form or join a vocal group so that potential political groupings notice you. You become known so it become easier for you to be appointed by which ever party you prefer.
