NEW Revolution Party (NRP) president Cozmo Mumba has announced he will tomorrow file criminal charges against Fourth Revolution (4R) party leader Eric Chanda for defaming President Edgar Lungu.

Mr Chanda was quoted in the Post Newspaper last week saying President Edgar Lungu has no moral right to warn State House staff against clubbing because the first assignment he took after his election was to go to Mfuwe to socialise, club and play pool.

“First of all, fatherly advice should be welcomed by any citizen of this country but surely, everybody will bear me witness that comrade Edgar Lungu should be the last person to warn his aides against clubbing. Because it is not too long ago when he himself as President, as custodian of State House, went, in the name of a retreat, to Mfuwe to socialise and club, play pool and all sorts of things. But how will the youngsters, his aides that he is warning, how will they take the warning?” he asked.

Over the weekend Information and Broadcasting Services Minister Chishimba Kambwili said the police should pursue Fourth Revolution Party (4R) president Eric Chanda for allegedly defaming President Lungu.

“Government takes very strong exception at the unbecoming behaviour of people defaming the President with impunity, Surely, even if there is freedom of expression, can one go and say the President has no moral right to advise aides at State House. Can you tell your own father that you have no moral rights to talk to me? Gentlemen, I think we are losing it,” he said.

The eccentric Cozmo Mumba has since taken the mantle of pushing for a case against the youthful 4R president Eric Chanda for defaming president Lungu.

He posted on his Facebook page this afternoon; “Tomorrow the 13th of May 2015, I Cozmo Mumba president of the National Revolution Party will be at The Lusaka Division Police Command to officially open a criminal docket against Comrade Eric Chanda, president of the Fourth Revolution Party for defaming the character of the head of state. All media institutions are advised to be at central police awaiting my arrival at 10:00hrs. The police are already expecting me.”

    • What Cosmo Mumba doesn’t know is that if the President faked playing pool in Mfuwe, then the Presidential aides are also faking their clubbing!!!!

  1. The President has enough professional aides and is not incapacitated as not to recognize a matter that needs redressing. Cosmo go and moblise your party and stop wasting your energy and efforts on matters of state.
