    • Sharpshooter & Pretty,

You sound guilty suspect, specially that your name is suggestive suspect. Could you be an accomplice to the act of killing, and now that you have not been arrested you boast?

  1. EVEN BEFORE IT FINISHES THIS ROAD IS RUBBISH. THERE’S NOTHING FOR THIS ROAD. ZAMBIANS MUST LEARN FROM BOTSWANA HOW ROADS MUST BE CONSTRUCTED. JUST LIKE ANY OTHER DUAL CARRIAGE WAY IN ZAMBIA ANY MOTORIST CAN AT ANY GIVEN POINT DECIDE TO MAKE A U-TURN. THAT IN ITSELF DEFEATING THE PURPOSE OF DUAL CARRIAGE WAY’S IN-BUILT SAFETY. THE ROAD JUST DOESN’T JUST LOOK RIGHT. BALEBUTA FYE. IT’S A SHAME IN ZAMBIA REALLY.

    • Where are Zambia’s top minds? Honestly our country is being plundered by Powerful foreign companies and our selfish politicians. Those trucks hauling out our copper are spoiling our roads. They take our copper cheaply and while at it damage our roads.Locals never benefit from the copper! Look at the roads, look at Solwezi and Chingola!.Then we pay some cheap chinese contractor to fix our roads and pay him huge sums of money. He the takes 2 years to complete less than 50km and by the next rainy season the road is dilapidated again! This nonsense must stop!!!.

    • Where is the PF Chief Cadre Gladys Kaseka who prays to Edgar Lungu instead of God? She must see this to understand that when her facebook friends commend her in her derogatory facebook posts, this is what she is saying is good for Zambians. She and her minions must realise that Zambians are far too clever to blindly follow cadres who are on Lungu’s payroll #TooBlindToSeeAnything real

    • See it with your own eyes. Once the road is complete it will have barriers all the way. Just as you leave chingola the barriers are in place. The blogger should have taken a realistic picture not these from the car. And more importantly most parts are concrete.

    • Peter,
Your concern about the state and quality of the Kitwe-Chingola RD has prompted me to respond in an effort to help put into clear context the images above:

As truly stated by LT, the pics were shot by an amateur—a blogger.

The pics were taken from the section of the road closest to Kitwe (I can tell from the forestry in the back ground and the houses behind the railway line near Mindolo sec sch.).
And the section shown, at the railway crossing, is the worst on the old road.

Paving (to deter those in the habit of u-turning anyhow) has already commenced. They started from the middle section.
The old road needs to be worked on; the new road is simply beautiful.
About 80% of the work has already been completed—I was on that road last in march, 2015.

      God bless you.

    • Peter its better to see the works yourself instead of issuing unsupported accusations. There parts which have not been fully worked on due to reasons such as infrastructure, streams, rocky mountains etc. These are mostly where this blogger took pictures. Like someone it would have done to take the photos from the sky.

    • @1.1 THE ANSWERS TO QUALITY ARE JUST IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD- BOTSWANA. GO TO BOTSWANA AND SEE HOW THEY CONSTRUCT THEIR ROADS (LET ALONE THEIR BEAUTIFUL BUILDINGS) YOU WILL BE AMAZED AND FOR ONCE THINK MAYBE YOU ARE IN GERMANY. BUT, THIS IS BOTSWANA IN AFRICA. IF OUR CIVIL ENGINEERS CAN’T DO WHAT THEY LEARNED AT UNIVERSITY THEY CAN SIMPLY COPY AND PASTE FROM BOTSWANA.

    • PEOPLE, PLEASE!! LEARN TO APPRECIATE WHAT OTHERS HAVE DONE. DONT BE LIKE SATAN WHO JUST SEES BAD IN EVERYONE NO MATTER HOW MUCH GOOD EACH TRIES TO DO.

LT: PLEASE KEEP SHOWING US SUCHLIKE PICTURES, ATLEAST. WE ARE TIRED OF POLITICAL NEWS OF POINTING AND BLAMING AND CONDEMNING EVERYTIME. WHOEVER DOESNT WANT TO APPRECIATE LET HIM BE. I FOR ONE I APPRECIATE WHATEVER EFFORT, EVEN LITTLE, THAT THE GRZ HAVE PUT IN. THANKYOU

    • These roads are constructed on the cheap at high price rates to simply skim off the profits. ..in Zambia a dual carriageway is merely two double lanes like rubbish on GER from the KK airport roundabout. ..even looking at that top layer on from the photo I see that its poor…advertise tenders to everyone especially the European contractors and they will set the template for us

    • How do you compare Botswana to Zambia? It does not attract heavy and abnormal loads as Zambia does due to its mining activities and moreover its population is less than 2 million people.

So if you have nothing to say please shut up and let us TUBOMBEKO. We know you chaps are now feeling the true heat of PF under our able leadership the President Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu.

Nafuti nafuti ni ECL mu 2016, pa bwatoooooo fye……

Go and stand as a councillor in Botswana and we will gladly offer you.

      Jealous imwe ba pungwa.

  2. Who killed Ruth Mbandu? And why was she killed? These and many other pertinent questions need answers. The Zambia Police Service should tell us their findings after promising the nation that will do so after their investigations. As a nation we need to know what transpired considering the bizarre manner in which Ruth Mbanda was murdered. All we are asking is a report on what really happened.

    • Is it the nation or it is your family which need answers? If your family needs help from the Zambian citizens, then we can help you.
A nation is a mob, and you disclose the truth to a mob.

  3. …Al the bloggers that are really concerned and interested in the matter, we should continue asking the cops on this matter regarding Ruth Mbandu because the Police have the records and for Kampyongo and the team to say that they will spill the beans, they know something.

We challenge Kampyongo to come out clean!!!

  4. Well, I guess its a plus for the Government. Is this road completed or still being constructed? Who took these pictures? Not professionally done. Maybe you should have used a chopper for better aerial photographs. The photos are terrible. I can only see the detour, but I can hardly see the actual free way.

    • There is no yet “actual free way” contrary to number of statements. Still “work in progress”.
By the way, when 10 or so kilometers of Great East Road are going to be completed? Awaiting inauguration of next President?

    • The first step in solving a problem is acknowledging that there is a problem. People seem to be in denial that the road works on Kitwe chingola road have taken too long and that the road is in a deplorable condition. The contractors were last seen mid last year and their work is erractic.Lets not be blinded by povery and think we deserve such poor quality roads.

  5. Appeal to ZP in Kitwe/Kalulushi. There is a Nadir car Reg ACR …. green in colour which is driven by a policeman from Kitwe to Kalulushi. This car has no lights both rear and front on the left. Can the O in C tell this chap to fix his lights before he causes an accident?

  6. There must be burriers in the middle to keep traffic from opposite routes from colliding into each other.

  7. Why can we not have a two-lane track going one direction away from the other coming back? Does it always have to be dual carriageway in this fashion? We must begin to put up off-ramp structures that will also allow better city and town planning. That said, it is good to note that there is some work being done to alleviate the dangers on that stretch that some weak minds were always attributing to the supernatural – er – the malevolent one!

  8. I wonder what this blogger was trying to achieve. Discredit his country or what oh the PF? The road is still being constructed and some segments have been left out albeit temporary due to obstacles such as existing infrastructure, rivers and rocky mountains. I am just wondering if the members of the opposition have run out of ideas to discredit the ruling party. The road has not even been opened. The segment where you see a truck is where you have to cross the new road to access the Chambishi Copper Smelter Plant. So you wonder what the intention is.

  9. Lord this is boring! This road has been under construction for 3 years now. The last time I used this road was in August, 2013 and it still looks the same sure!

  10. Who killed Ruth Mbandu? And why was she killed? These and many other pertinent questions need answers. The Zambia Police Service should tell us their findings after promising the nation that they will do so after their investigations. As a nation we need to know what transpired considering the bizarre manner in which Ruth Mbanda was murdered. All we are asking for is a report on what really happened.

  11. l. drive in this road. the damaged road is not yet touched.it is a kaunda generation road. please wait for the contractor to complete the project.the other new lain is almost completed.avoid propagandas.but advise simuusa to work on roads in chingola.

  12. The shoddy works have now stalled and it looks like it has been abandoned by the Chines contractor possibly for non payment. Kitwe/Chingola dual carriage is an eye sore and those pf cadres claiming “work in progress” are part and parcel to the destruction of our road infrastructure because of top heavy corruption in the pf govt. Zambia is bankrupt and if it was a company it would have been under a receiver.

    • The contracor is working from Nchanga hospital to town centre where the road has become impassable. Dont just talk be factaul!

  13. I cannot see the road but trucks and wheels. What kind of photography is this?
You want to show us mediocrity in road construction through mediocrity in photo journalism. ZAMBIA starts with Z and ends with A, which means we are going backwards from Z to A.
Going backwards in EVERYTHING. We have the worst laid out Online News in the world, the worst grammar in news reports, the worst news presentation. EVERYTHING is just so bad! Bloggers are also just awful!

  14. Ba LT, that is why His Excellency the President Edgar Chagwa Lungu is thinking twice to pass the freedom of information bill, because of such kind of journalism. You have the responsibility of reporting the facts not all that comes you way and you consider it as news. I traverse that road every week. The section which was taken by the UPND cadre is the old section of the road which has not seen any works which near the rail crossing. The right side of the road if you are going in northern direction, is a new road under construction and it is not even in use. Be responsible with your reporting before you lose your relevance in the media fratenity

  15. saviour-katewa The Kitwe-Chingola dual carridge road is not 80% done.I used it on 9th may.Chambeshi-kitwe is just gravel with soil eroded by heavy rains.Halfway from Chambesi to Chingola is gravel. The bridge at mufulira turn ofF is abandoned and soil is eroded too.I dont think you are normal PERSON to call the road nice. The pictures are a true reflection of the road.Infact the pictures look better than the actual situation. The old road is UN EVEN AND POTHOLED AND ITS DEATH TRAP.

    • @inonge,
If your conscience is not charred as with a hot iron, you will be ashamed on the day the Kitwe-Chingola Dual Carriage Way will be commissioned.

And live up to the standard of that pretty name you’ve got; I really appreciate your name sake: the Vice President of the Republic of Zambia.
      She is a shining star.

      God help you.

  16. zAMBIA IS WHERE IT IS BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE nemwine and saviour who think the new kitwe-chingola road is 80% done is nice.At the moment theres only a small portion which is tarred the rest is gravel some areas washed away by rains.I drove on this road last started and I was disgusted. It appeared like the contractor is not on site may be not paid.Work very slowly.fRON 2013 UP DATE NOT MUCH CHANGE.The old road is uneven with potholes. Most people in Zed have never seen good roads and anything which looks like tar they get excited.I really weep for mother Zambia.

    • @peter,
Reserve your tears for day the Kitwe-Chingola Dual Carriage Way will be commissioned: it will hurt really bad. Trust me.

    • @peter,
Reserve your tears for the day the Kitwe-Chingola Dual Carriage Way will be commissioned: it will hurt really bad.

And LT on that day will upload the professional photos I know them for. What will you say?

  17. Abalekopa nabo! No creativity. Balafumako namulimotoka. Amateur photographers where iam put in a little bit of effort
