President Edgar Lungu is on Sunday expected in Angola –Luanda for the Extra Ordinary Summit on the International Conference on the Great Lakes region.
The Conference is expected to focus on the growing concern of peace and Security, as well as the Humanitarian Situation in the region.
Zambian Ambassador to Angola, Barbara Chilangwa says the summit is crucial as the Heads of State share ideas and consult one another on the situations in the region.
Ms. Chilangwa also stated that the happenings in Burundi will also be part of the Agenda of the Summit.
Ms. Chilangwa was speaking in an interview with journalists in the Angolan capital, Luanda.
Meanwhile, Foreign Affairs Minister, Harry Kalaba is expected in Angola on Friday, where he will join other foreign affairs Ministers from the region for a meeting ahead of the Summit of the Heads of State on Monday.
The Ministers meeting will feed into the Summit of the Heads of States which will be held on Monday.
President Lungu will be expected back , in Zambia on Tuesday, 19, 2015.

This is the job of whoever took over from late Ambassador Dr Siteke Mwale (MHSRIP) only our president has insecurity issues of recognition and acceptance thus the reason it seems he has to be at each and every regional grouping!
Such interactions that President Lungu is evolving mean well for Zambians to appreciate the economic benefits of our people in the region. Zambia has a lot of agricultural products (sugar from Nakambala, chicks from its Hatcheries, palm oil from Mpika, Coffee from Kasama and Maize from Southern and Eastern to provinces) which we can sale to Angola and the Great Lakes Region.
Hence Zambia’s presence at such international fora, spearheaded by President Lungu, is a vital strategic investment.
Lazy Lungu in a space of 7 days he has flown from Livingstone to Lusaka need to North Western province …then now will fly to Angola …the lazy bum has never spent a 14 straight days in office or hosted a press conference even after 100+ days in power. President Lungu is spending to much time out of office. This is not good at all. How many times do the Obamas and the Camerons travel out of their countries? No wonder their countries are developed because they spend most of their time in office solving national problems. You can’t run a country remotely through others given the problems Zambia is facing. Only 2 presidents travelled to L/stone last week out of 10 because others are busy about running their countries rather than touring Africa.

The meeting in Livingstone had only three heads of states the rest sent representatives as were financialy broke we can save some resources va Lungu.

I have concerns when people like Ngurunguziza selfishly want to stick to power and the nationals revolt and then we have to have others (like Mr Lungu) abandon responsibilities at their homes to go resolve the so called great lakes region problems.Leave them to so out their own problems. Personally I have no problem with him going around the country to inspect projects-as long as he is not politicking
Lungu needs to sit down and work for his pay. This constant vacationing and jet set life needs to be checked. He has fewer days remaining for his term of office and needs to concentrate on matters on the ground.
