  1. PF have failed to work on the roads now forces the mine to work on the roads. CSR is not a forcing matter.Solwezi Municipal Council is given mineral royalties which have made them mad. They cant plan and invest the money wisely. We need a proper Govt.Kafwaya be ready to face the people in less than 12 months. How can you bring the grader at the station to hip waste stones from kansanshi and you say it is worth ZMK800,000.00 You are joking with your PF.Wait

    • Ka Lungu always begging. Kansanshi mine is nt obliged to provide community services on your behalf. It’s your job to do that. Stop wasting resources on useless trips abroad and a bloated cabinet and invest the money in community services instead. You want to be enjoying your corrupt life at the expense of others

    • LUCKY DUBE WAS WISE WHEN HE SUNG: “IF U CANT SAY SOMETHING GOOD ABOUT SOMEBODY, JUST SHUT UP..”! MANY ANTI-EL COMMENTERS HERE JUST EXPOSES THEIR IGNORANCE ON MANY SUBJECTS– SEEMS TO THEM EVERYTHING IS “BAD TOMATOES” EVEN BEFORE THEY LOOK TO SEE… TOO BITTER AND UNDULY OPINIONATED… BETTER U SHUT UP

  2. Is this all EL went to do and say when he visited the Mines? Begging? I expected more legal substance in the comment from this Lawyer President. A CSR without a legal contract is just begging. The First Quatum Director of Operations key role is to do what his Job title says, and do it at a profit and in compliance with the legal contractual agreement with GRZ. He is answerable to the Company share holders who are only swayed by contractual agreements.

And looking EL’s body language, is he nervous? you would think he has been sent there by someone, and yet he is the State President.

  3. Its gvts duty to provide services. If you’re asking private companies to do what you’re supposed to be doing then you’re admitting that you have failed. So you want companies to be doing you’re work so you can concentrate on stealing money that you borrow in secrecy. By the way how much tax do you pay on your minister of defence job? You should not be receiving any salary or allowances for that position. You’re very greedy and selfish. Zwa!

  4. When you elect empty tins this is what you get, they have absolutely no clue what CSR is…for your information Lazy Lungu it is a form of corporate self-regulation integrated into a business model you have no idea what a business model is as you have never run a business and what goes into it especially for a global conglomerates like FQM; you can’t tell them to up it like you recklessly manage the GRZ budget.
Why don’t you just concentrate on collecting a fair share of tax and delivering front-line services…these companies didnt come to Zambia for CSR.
    Wake up Lazy Bum Lungu!!

  5. At times i wonder the way some of you guys you say things. We who are in the mines knows what it takes here. Grading the station, is this politics? Yaba. zambians if we continue talking likes without thinking, this country shall surely remain the same. Even if hh comes in he shall have enemies of this kind who talk even in sleeping mode like lighting plant.

    • Which miner,What is your level of qualification? Google and understand the Term CSR. Why CSR on President Visit. The Mayor saying ZMK 800,000 by council will spent. You are useless with your PF. Mines gives Tax ,where do you take the money,we still have dust. Then you say Pawato pawato……………..

  6. You cannot ask a business entity to do you favor. They are not obliged. And even if they said they will help you would not penalize them if they defaulted. The most effective way for multinational companies to participate is through a rigid tax regime. Right now Lumwana is laughing at Lungu’s call for a pie from heaven! Stones wont give you value however you shouted at them. You got to crack them and put them to use.

    • We know that they are not obliged that is why we are reminding them that greed should supersede social responsibility. There is nothing extraordinary that the president is asking of them other than reminding them that we are watching. Sometimes it helps to think rationally than just mere parroting of dislike of ECL.

  7. Please read about CRS before you write. Most the writers here seem not to have done courses which discuss CSR. Read, read,read…..

  8. I think there is a lit if empty drums on this media. Was reading thru comments and still no one seems to know the social responsibility of an investor in the area they operate from. It’s sad to see the low lever of thinking by Majority bloggers. That’s what you become when you are a SERIAL negative minded person , dull literate.

  9. Government should investigate how Solwezi Council uses the huge levies paid by FQM. Govt will be shocked.
