Charles Musonda’s wife attacks FAZ, ends sons eligibility debate

Share

Wife of former Zambia midfield star Charles Musonda, Angela has launched a scathing attack on the Football Association of Zambia describing the country’s football governing body as dysfunctional.

Angela whose family is now based in the United Kingdom says her talented sons Lamisha, Tyka and Charles Musonda Jr. are not able play for Zambia and alleged that FAZ is dysfunctional.

She also added that the Republican Constitution did not allow dual citizenship making it difficult for her sons to play for the country of their birth.Angela who was commenting on an unrelated Facebook post by her husband said her children were Belgian nationals.

She however maintained that both herself and husband remain proud Zambians. “Excuse us, wrong post to talk about our sons here,” she stated.”Apparently they are Belgian citizens and cannot play for mother Zambia.”

Angela then followed that statement by attacking the performance of FAZ.

“Don’t turn a blind eye on the dysfunctional FAZ and the country’s constitution which does not allow dual citizenship.

“Not even our decision if at all everything was fine but the boys’! We will always be proud Zambians ourselves. No one can take that away from us,” she said.

    • We appreciate Angela’s comments but I would appreciate her toning down a bit. Zambia is bigger than a collection of 3 individual talents. We certainly appreciate what Charles did for Zambia and we will always wish him and the three talented Belgian boys all the best. We wish they were able to adorn the great colours of our land but its not possible. Why should we cry for foreign nationals to play our game? I believe Zambia has enough great talent, notwithstanding the fact that Faz is dyfunctional. After all, we managed to win the 2012 Afcon without the help of that super talent!
      Ba Zambia, iyeeeeeee, Chipolopolo!!!!!

      Mngoni ngaye ngaye wakwa Mfuleni!

    • Young Charlie is winning trophies at chelsea, learning from other huge talents like Charlie snr, Belgian stars like Hazard, Benteke, Lukaku…..he is better off as a Belgian.

    • Please let those boys be. Their parents are Zambians but those boys are Belgians. They are not obligated in any way to play for the Zambian football team. Granted the boys can never ever vote in a Zambian election or contest in one so why should people keep insisting on them playing for the rubbish, useless, untalented Zambia national team?
I can only compare this to a father who leaves his family for a mistress. Once the mother educates the kids to be successful human beings, then the ungrateful imbecile comes back throwing the ” am the father card”.

    • This is the most preposterous thing I have ever heard. FAZ actually wants Belgian nationals to play for Zambia? When did Zambia introduce dual citizenship? Am confused.

    • We all know Musonda Sr was ever pa Bench, kalu achieved a lot , jealous will kill you madam , what ever you were told ku bedroom by Charles is not true. Anasila kudala mambala and he has ever being jealous of the GREAT KALU Africa player of the year 2008.

  1. What has this got to do with faz we know y your husbard hates great kalu and pliz tell him that he will never even come near to the achivements of great kalu and stop behaving like a hole and shut up pliz we dnt need your sons

    • Kalu hates Charlie too. Kalu would rather have his daughter play for Chipolopolo instead of fighting to have Charlie’s talented sons help Zambia. Apparently, Kalu wants all the fame to himself.

  2. In as far as I agree that the FAZ of Galu is sht, we do not need three kids to save our football. Zambia has a lot of talent and we should not allow anyone to grow balls whether Galu, Angela or whoever. We are not destitutes when it comes to talent but are silly when it comes to chose administrators.

    • You have spoken like a rational man. Did we ever go crying for the Musondas to play for Zambia? Never! So why bring up the topic? Does Angela just want the limelight?

    • Sophie you are dull. Angela was responding to questions/comments on FB regarding her children playing for Zambia.

  3. ZCCM made FAZ tick. Most administration and logistics were done by ZCCM employees such as Jim Pasqual, Ernes Mate, Obed Majimela, Benet Simfukwe etc. As such there was no visible cash to tempt any one. Today most of the people who go FAZ just think of how much they take out of FAZ; foot is a far third in their minds.

  4. The current constitution is part of the hindrance according to the mother. The constitution does not only affect politics, it affects ordinary citizens even more

  5. Leave Kalu alone, where you a toddler when we lost the gallant nation team in 1993 and what followed later. Your husband has never supported the Zambia national Team and given a chance there is nothing he can do. He was a let down to mother Zambia. When we needed a draw against morocco in 1994 for the world Cup qualify that’s when he appeared and after that he disappeared into oblivion. Actually, it’s your husband who is dysfunctional otherwise he could have done something for Zambian soccer. You don’t necessary have to be in FAZ to be recognized. I will urge you to shut up and leave us alone. Moreover your children are Belgians, what has that to do with FAZ.As for Kalu, will always be grateful that it was during his tenure that we won our first Africa Cup.He has left a mark.

  6. Great Galu (oh sorry I meant Kalu) hates Charles Musonda. Actually Galu would rather have his recently wed daughter play for Chipolopolo instead of fighting to have Charlie’s talented sons help Zambia. Apparently, Galu wants all the fame to himself. Madam Charlie is right to say that FAZ is dysfunctional. She’s actually referring to Galu.

  7. Ba Angela Mwiponta mukabwela. …home is home…just because you are vyalos doesn’t make your sons any better than ordinary Zambian kids….sha

  8. Their parents don’t want them to play for the country, they are Belgian citizens, our constitution does not recognise dual citizenship, FAZ is confused as an organisation (corrupt) so why waste time. Angela is 100% correct. Leave her alone.

    • I don’t understand the fuss here, Charles musonda was never there for Zambia, was Kalu the coach? Fat No! Like rightly pointed out he only came in 1994 only to come and lose his tooth during that match. Angela should not complain but rather fight for the constitution to be amended. Whether one likes it or not “you can’t bring a great man down.” At least Kalu can point at things he has achieved like wining the Afcon during tenure. He is also in FIFA now Angela’s husband is still like a ball boy organizing Chelsea dressing room.
So Mayo ba Angela direct your frustration to the constitution.

  9. Angela you think you are all that iwe hule ya munthu…Just don’t get anywhere near Kalu iwe…sha

  10. Angela. This is what is called UKUTUMPA in Mufulira where you came from. Belgians! My foot they will always be second class citizens. That’s the unwritten reality when you are a foreigner but accorded citizenship. Also us Zambians should stop crying for these boys. Does Chelsea have a strong youth academy. I doubt it. Barcelona and Ajax are the destination for quality young talent. Anything else is average besides there is enough talent locally where the Father came from.

    • @Ndine
      You said right….ati “Belgians”
Angela is talking as if she is cleaning..akamba monga awamya….wait till she gets old in the Diaspora that’s when she will remember Zambia

  11. well Angela, your talented boys will one day make a decision. They may be Belgians but as long as they have not ye played for the Belgian national team, they can change nationality and play for their mother land. The issue has nothing to do with FAZ. All of us owe something to Zambian, we need to make better for posterity. You are what you are today because of FAZ and Zambian football. Let Charlie (your husband) mend fences with Kalu and see how they can both contribute to the development of football. Put the past behind. Kalu has done a lot for Zambian football. He may have his own shortcomings-but who doesn’t have?

    • Spot on Steve! If at at those boys play for Belgium they won’t even last in the national team. That is the truth.

  12. We all know Faz is dysfunctional but the issue is law doesn’t allow dual nationality and will certainly not change to accommodate your children full stop!!

  13. Here in the UK when I introduce myself as a Zambian to fellow Africans ( of a certain age), the first thing they utter is “KALUSHA BWALYA, THAT GUY WAS A GREAT FOOTBALLER”. But Zambians blame him for everything – including dual nationality ! I feel sorry for him.

    • Correct even here in Sweden when you talk of Zambian football they will ask for Kalusha and in politics about great KK

    • An Ethiopian I had asked to show me the boarding area at. Washingtons Dulles airport asked me about Kalu after finding out that. I was from zambia

  14. Who cares .the kids are niggars whether they play for Zambia or Belgium.monkey chants will follow them wherever they go.silence is golden and a sign of maturity.this angela should realise that one should never insult the crocodile before crossing the river.much as i agree with the faz issue,i don’t know how this helps her cause.even fifa has serious issues of corruption.Zambia won afcon without those kids and the same faz you are insulting.to this faz has the bragging rights as the best so far for winning afcon and kalu as ethe best zambian footballer ever.

  15. Angela is right. She has hammered the nail on the head. Lets just deal with the reality and accept it as it is. even I would do the same thing if I found myself in that situation with my kid(s)

  16. Twalibelela ukuwina no kulusa we are comfortable even without them.Drogba talented as he is was left in national team but the locals lifted the cup

  17. God bless those kids and their talents, but we don’t really need them. Zambian football has made it this far without Charles Musonda, so what difference can those 3 make??

As for Angela, just shut up we know you wanted Kalu to chop you and it never worked out, you silly “Belgian”.

  18. Angela was a Zambia open and that is how she married his illiterate husband who could not even speak English. leave great Kalu alone after all we all heard what your husband said at the airport while waiting for the remains of our late national team

    • Jealousy ibi. She may have been a ” Zambia open” but she saw opportunity in illiterate Charles and married him and produced three great kids who are millionaires, which means Angela and Charlie are millionaires. In British pounds not kwacha. While Kalusha is leaving off FAZ and his wife. Who is laughing now!

    • Ba Dalitso, who told you they millionaires do you know what it takes to earn a million pounds? They are just comfortable for now.

  19. Empty vessels make too much noise- the adage goes. Angela and her husbands seem to belong to those vessels that are full of nothing but but emptiness. You mean that family can not find some thing better for their kids to do in the whole of europe, but CRY BABY to their mother country. let them educate their children, then all this cry will be over europe provide the best chances for one to identify his her talent. They should not let their children be like them with humble education.

  20. Dear Angela, right or wrong, don’t allow emotions to consume you and your family. Consider the bigger picture … 40 – 50 yrs from now, would you come out the way you have just done? We’re all here just for a season and gone the next … for posterity sake, how I wish your hubby and your talented boys were participating in Zambian football while their chance lasted … which is NOW!

  21. Angela is right. As parents, they want the best for their kids. They want their sons to succeed. If you were to ask me, can the boys succeed if they choose Zambian nationality? Possibly, but the incentives that come with being an EU citizen e.g free movement can make a huge difference. This does not only apply to those in sport, but to other professions as well. Imagine you are working in Scotland and you want your kids to choose either Zambian or British (Scottish) nationality. The issue which comes to every parent in that situation is; if the child takes up Zambian nationality, it means he/she will pay £15,000 to £20,000 in tuition fees in Scottish Universities as opposed to £0 if they choose Scottish nationality. Making such a decision is a no brainer!

  22. Kalusha deserves a lot of respect for his commitment to zambia. He is the only person (as player and head of FAZ) that has put zambia in the spot light. Remember the Olympics of 1988? Or the nations cup of 1994? Or the year 2012? This guy never complained and worked so tirelessly to do his country proud.

What has Charles done for his country? Learn to appreciate please.

  23. Haters will continue to hate Kalu but will never even be half of what he has been or done for Zambia. If a man deserves praise give it to him now, he will never read his tombstone. Kalu was loved when he used to score whenever Zambia were down, or when he inspired many to show the talent Zambia had but armchair critics want to pull him down with their “PHD” syndrome common in Africa.

  24. Imwe mayo ba Angela, batila ekowashika imfuti takwalinga kulila mumbwe! You may be a proud Belgian today but remember. mwakulila ku Ndeke ‘kumaikulile’ ku Ndola please tone down mukabwela.Mukesa mukunwa amenshi yamu chishima ku Ndola.Don’t just blame faz, find solutions if you re proud zambians as you Clame.

  25. Ifi Angela atikama pamenso efyabipa nomuntima wakwe. Who cares about the musondas. We know where to tap talent in areas like mwansabombwe, jumbe, kalomo, chotomalimba, katete, wusakile, lwasobe, mwinilunga…….

Thanks to kalu. He has done a lot to Zambia and he even used to pay for his air tickets just play for Zambia. Charles never did that pantu ichikashi ichafimba ifimilomo chalemukanya.

  26. Madam Musonda, where was your hubby when Kalu and Jonson Bwalya stepped up to assist the Nation after the Gabon disaster?! What was his contribution

  27. Chi Angela chased Bilton Musonda, the young brother of Charles from Belgium ati kuno waisa takwaba ukwakula so mailo bulendo. That’s how Bilton left with a lot of clubs having interest in him. When he asked his brother Charles he said ati nifyofyine ba madam nabalanda.

  28. What has Charles Musonda done for mother Zambia? he even refused to play for Zambia after the Gaborn disaster. useless Wife. Kalu has done alot and he is well known by FIFA president S . Blater.

  29. Enact dual citizenship so that our relatives abroad can be part and parcel of activities in their homeland especially the upcoming registration on voters and 2016 elections. The government should go ahead and amend what is needed to be amended, otherwise a referendum is a pipedream for now. Angela is speaking for thousands of Zambians abroad. The constitution issue has been under discussion ten years ago and is still raw. Tefyo bekala. Bushe finshi fyashupa kanshi? Ala abapanga ifyongo pali constitution is a small percentage of Zambians. They can be ignored at this stage otherwise we will never move forward.

  30. lol….No 3 players can be bigger than the chipolopolo . Everybody in Ghana talks about Kalu or Katongo and now kalaba , Charles never really did much for Zambia . just as Zambia won the Afcon without the musonda sons . we believe Zambia can make it to Russia if the get a good coach! without the Musondas !The have Zambian blood not Belgium.

  31. Abasungu nshabomfwapo ukulanda ati ” my sons who were born in Mufulira when I was mine captain there are Zambians. They will never represent England ” Twalo muntu kubulaya ninshi lyonsefye ni ” Ifwe tulibasungu my sons are Belgian ” Yaba! mwati ama inferiority complex yesu tukashika?

  32. Take the Boateng brothers for instance……they were both born in west berlin, one plays for Germany and the other pays for Ghana..

No parent of them ever disputed about there nationalities..

    Umublack ukutemwa ukuba umusungu,,,,,awe bwafya!!!!
