Pending purge grips Nkana players

Share

An air of anxiety has gripped Nkana players following speculation of a massive purge at Wusakile.

A list with over nine players appeared on social media on Tuesday allegedly containing names of players axed in the July window who include crowd favorite Tony Odur of Uganda.

The situation comes a week after new coach Aggrey Chiyangi hinted that a clearout of underperforming players was imminent following a poor run by Nkana

“To tell you the truth none of us have been told anything or letters given to any player,” one player on the list said.

“Some came for training on Wednesday morning but others didn’t even bother. Its just confusion.”

Nkana officials have distanced themselves from the great purge list although it seems there is smoke but the source of the fire has just not been located.

Some of the names allegedly on their way out of Nkana are Joseph Sitali, Claude bwalya, Kamuzati kabwe, Perry Mubanga, Felix Nyaende and Odur.

Djunes Kanda and Josphat Kasusu who joined Nkana this season together with Nyaende, Kamuzati and Mubanga, are allegedly also in the line of fire.
