The Patriotic Front (PF) has scooped the Malambo and Petauke Central parliamentary seats and is heading for victory in Mulobezi constituency in yesterday’s by-elections.

Dora Siliya of the ruling PF in Petauke Central has reclaimed her seat by polling 12, 830 followed by Allan Zulu of the UPND who got 2, 331, while Ignasio Phiri of UNIP polled 259 votes.

Ms Siliya, who was re-contesting the Petauke Central seat under the PF, was announced as a winner at around 02:30 this morning.

Petauke Central constituency has seven wards and 53 polling stations with a total of 46,635 registered voters.

And Ms Siliya has told QFM News via telephone that she knew that she will win the by-election.

Ms Siliya says she is delighted that the people in Petauke Central Constituency will once again have representation in parliament after two years of not having a representative in the House.

And (PF) candidate Jack Shuma has scooped the Malambo parliamentary by-election beating his other contenders.

Mr Shuma polled 5,566 votes beating his closest rival of the United Party for National Development (UPND) candidate Peter Phiri who got 3,842 votes with a difference margin of 1,724 votes.

Independent candidate Florence Mwayopa was third with 438 votes with Jailous Mchenga of UNIP only managed 181 votes in all the 35 polling stations dotted across Malambo’s Mambwe District.

Malambo Constituency returning officer Oscar Musonda who announced the official results at 03:52 hours said out of 10,133 total votes cast only 106 ballots were rejected.

Speaking immediately after being announced winner, Mr Shuma congratulated his three competitors from UPND, UNIP and independent for giving him a good race in the parliamentary by-election.

“First of all let me congratulate my opponents who were competing with me in this by-election. I am really happy to them as a new Member of Parliament (MP).I also thanks the people who voted for me in the by-election,”Mr Shuma said.

He pledged to foster development in Malambo constituency as well as addressing the issue of human-animal conflict.

Mr Shuma’s deputy campaign manager who is also Sports Minister Vincent Mwale thanked all the participating political parties for being peaceful and urged other constituencies to emulate the peaceful atmosphere that characterised the Malambo by-election.

When contacted for comment, Mr Phiri had earlier said he would accept however said there was a lot of voter intimidation from the ruling party.

Mr Phiri said he had now shaken Malambo constituency and he would continue with his ambition of becoming an MP in the area.

Ms Mwayopa said she would continue supporting any development project which the Government would foster in Malambo because the country was a Christian nation.

The people of Malambo elected Mr Shuma after two years absence of representation in the Parliament after then area MP Maxwell Mwale lost the election results due to the alleged malpractices exhibited in September 20th 2011 general elections..

And in Mulobezi Constituency, out of the 15 polling stations counted so far, the PF Candidate Patricia Mulasikwanda has polled 1, 678 votes followed by her closest rival Hastings Sililo of the UPND who has polled 1, 515, UNIP’s Alfred Mandumbwa has managed to get 32 votes, meanwhile Esau Mwanza of the Green Party has polled 18 and Collins Mbangu of Alliance for Democracy and Development (ADD) got 8 votes.

From the 15 polling stations counted so far, a total of 3, 251 votes were cast and Mulobezi constituency has six wards, 32 polling stations and 13,662 registered voters.

The Mulobezi parliamentary seat fell vacant after the nullification of the seat which was held by UPND’s Hastings Sililo.

  1. This is to those who blog vote thinking they will take their kachema to state house. SLAP IN YOUR FACE. Infintu Ni Lungu. How else can you explain in even in Mulobezi, Dandy crazy now play your song…KOLOPA .COM.

    • It’s only in Zambia where most people vote on belly’s dictates. If you compare the two HH and EL there miles apart. In USA or UK people there would never have voted for EL for dodging presidential debate. EL knew could not compete himself with HH. Come next year we are going to show them the exit.

    • All three seats are ripe for nullification. In Eastern Province we all watched President Lungu encouraging tribalism, wako ni wako he shamelessly said. He went on to tell the electorates that he will not bring development to their areas if they voted for the opposition as if he alone pays tax. In Mulobezi where PF had no chance of winning they used violence.Shooting opposition supporters in broad daylight. This is no victory for PF. it will be short lived. Judgement day is coming.

    • Careful with that powder one of you will be poured with Anthrax powder or something else.
Who even brought this kind of celebration where people have powder on their heads. Careful with people. People are more dangerous.
Congrats to all cadres in PF. Nice run UPND.

    • Analysing the picture in this article carefully. Why is Dora wearing a picture with a picture of Edgar Lungu not Micheal Sata .It shows politics in Zambia has lost it’s moral bearings .To put it in another way it has gone to the dogs . The looting and plunder of tax payers money will carry on the Liato way.

    • If you were not so narrow minded you’d have noted that out of 32 polling stations only 15 have been counted and “Patricia Mulasikwanda has polled 1, 678 votes followed by her closest rival Hastings Sililo of the UPND who has polled 1, 515” the lead is rather too narrow to call considering the number of polling stations remaining. And about your tribal remarks, all I can say is, when you call out the tribal card look yourself in the mirror and you’ll see quite clearly who the tribalist is… by the way, what would you call the voting pattern in Petauke… tribal or as the PF like to say “strong hold”?

    • PF can win and will probably even win the general elections next year, but brace yourselves for things to come around the economy, nepotism, corruption, and you name it! Welcome, indeed welcome to Zambia on its knees! Learning you surely will do, but it will be too late to do anything. Look at Zimbabwe and Greece … Cry the beloved country.

    • You can celebrate victory, we understand. Avoid using tribalist remarks like “kachema”.
Zambians have a track record of denial just like we denied to challenge Kaunda for 27 years, MM for over 20 years and now with the PF. It is no secret that HH would make a good president. It is a matter of time.

    • Analysing the picture in this article carefully. Why is Dora wearing a T shirt with a picture of Edgar Lungu not Micheal Sata?It shows politics in Zambia has lost it’s moral bearings .To put it in another way it has gone to the dogs . The looting and plunder of tax payers money will carry on the Liato style.I dont care what anyone thinks ,Dora potrayed a picture that she could jump off the cliff of the Muchinga Mountains than being PF or joining them. What has changed now?

The love of money is at play here not the people she pretends to represent. Now that people have been blinded to vote for her,she will drive away for Lusaka and live them without water from the taps and flashing toilets since independence .She will earn a fat salary in Lusaka but go back during election time for more .

    • The education challenge has a lot of consequences exhibited across the country! There are deservedly elected leaders and there are those that the education challenge has benefitted.

Time a minimum level of education was imposed for parliamentarians to attract quality discourse in the house. My suggestion would be a post high school diploma. If one were to assess the education levels of parliamentarians in the southern Africa region, I would not be surprised that Zambia would be first from bottom!

  2. Agony to that NGO upnd which is just popular on-line! Iam told hh slept in the cow’s kraal just to get a sympathetic vote, what has happened? Thank you great people of Mulobezi, you could see through such deceit!

  3. Corruption is back and soon Dora will be a minister if not VP to spearhead the corruption while Zambians are in darkness due to loadshading

    • The quality of the Returning is very low. They could not find a more decently polished Returning officer. Is the training officer a football hooligan of Malambo bullets? He needed to dress decently probably have some make up on. Are the three guys looking at the same number that we are being told?

    • My Wife Dora is a transformed person dear. Never shall you hear any bad news against her! Congrats Mama!

  4. Mmembe, HH and Kabimba should now stop talking about LUNGU THIS LUNGU THAT and may be try farming.
Come 2016 they will be truly humiliated. Mmembe’s vitriolic and toxic gutter paper is actually campaigning for PF

  5. this is good for the ruling part,it shows that our message is clear and the people of zambia have the trust in Edgar Lungu

thank you people of petauke, mulobezi and malambo

  6. Well done PF. The electrolate have spoken. Lets learn to give credit where its due. UPND has also exhibited penetration in PF’s Eastern province at a notable scale.

  7. I told you UPND dreamers that expect 2-1 or 3-0 in favour of PF as mighty PF is still very popular!!even in 2016 PF will easily retain power!!!ONLY A LUNATIC WOULD WANT TO CHANGE A HARD WORKING GOVT!LATE PRESIDENT CHILUBA SPENT MONEY ON SUITS AND OTHER PERSONAL ITEMS,BUT PF USES MOST OF OUR MONEY ON DOING ROADS,HOSPITALS,CLINICS,SCHOOLS,PAYING POOR VILLAGERS SOME CASH,ETC,SO WHAT MORE CAN A VOTER EXPECT FROM THE GOVT?i always say that only the opposition want change so that they can employ themselves and not that PF is not performing-no!!WE WAIT TO HEAR FROM HH NOW!!!GO PF GO!!

    • Eddy why can’t you write like a person who knows what he is talking about. Its not lunatic for one to want change. Every person has the right to belong to a party of his or her choice. We all said No to ONE PARTY STATE during Kaunda’s time, why do you want to drug us back to the one party system. No stop calling names to the people who are in the opposition. We need the ruling party as well as the opposition parties.

      Thank you.

    • Just like someone bloged, the people in UpeNd cannot see that Hypnotised Hyena(HH) is a liability. Anyway that works out well for my PF! Please keep HH at the helm of your party for as long you cadres want! Oh how I miss Great Anderson Mazoka MHSRIP!

  8. All the dreamers have been put to shame. Yesterday most us predicted a 2-1 victory for the PF. But UPND die-hard thought we were dreaming not knowing they were the ones dreaming. Instead it will 3-0, what a shame. Wake up guys, PF will whitewash you in 2016. Sad.

  9. Pobo, Pobo, Pobo, Pobo, Pobo, Poboooooooooooo. This is how it will be even in 2016. For as long as you knuckleheads continue insulting us, we will always show you our true colours during election time.

  10. @Imprezza:you say “come next year we will show them(PF) the exit”.HOW?ARE U GUYS IN UPND OBJECTIVE?CANT YOU SEE SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOUR PARTY AFTER LOSING ALL 3 BY ELECTIONS OR 6 SINCE JANUARY 2015?in 2016 where will you get those votes to defeat PF if can even lose in Mulobezi?honestly even a lunatic can accept that something is wrong with your thinking!!BEFORE LATE SATA DEFEATED MMD,HE STARTED BY WINNING BY ELECTIONS AND MAJORITY VOTERS BELIEVED THAT FOR SURE SATA IS NEXT PRESIDENT AND VOTED FOR HIM IN 2011!!now its opposite with HH.even those who may like him may not vote in 2016 since they know their votes wont outnumber PF votes!!SO THE BIGGEST LOSEE HERE IS HH AND UPND!!2016 WILL 100% BE FOR PF-MARK MY WORDS!!

  11. and these upnd keep on singing that 2016 is for hh??!!!!!!!! dreamers!!!!!!! where is hh going to win from????? anyway we all know from were!!!! but those usual votes these upnd prefect gets all the time shall never be enough to take him to state house. please iwe hh try yourself to stand as ward chairman may be you can win.

  12. HH this is the end of yo political carrier. HH is now very confused. You see the violent strategy did not work for you

  13. Ladies & gentlemen, with all the intimidation, UPND has done well. I supported Dora when Sata’s regime nullified her seat. dora was always going to win even if she contested it under UNIP. We just need a new constitution and even without a new constitution, PF is in trouble in many places including the Copperbelt

    • Does anyone have a breathalyser?
This airport cabinet needs a test.
He is so inebrieted that he if failing to see the truth on the ground.
HH is being wiped out politically.
But it is not the end of his road.

    • Kekekekekee! @ Kakolwe yaba KK Airport Cabinet should be charged for DUI, no his case it will be WUI (Writing Under the Influence)!

  14. This is the time to do a deep and reflective audit of the upnd leadership and party as whole.First it was kakoma losing a seat to a fuel attendant, the vp resigning, now losing all parliamentary elections. These are just a few calamities that have rocked upnd.

  15. HH must resign and come out the slamber and self denial. He is no match to H.E. Edgar Chagwa Lungu and i see PF taking 9 Provinces in 2016 both at Presidential and Parlaimentary levels.
ECL is simply to sharp for the opposition. Mr.Kapita, you have shamed those blind followers still clinging on to the dead UPND leadership. Come 2016, lets bury them deep.
Ba Sata is resting peacefully that his student is performing more than his teacher.
Nomba ka price kabunga eko tulebombelapo to bring it down and infrastructure development continues at an accelerated pace.

God bless Zambia and its leader ECL and PF.

    • If he is no match for EL, then whether he resigns or not should not make a difference te? Why do you people always want HH to resign if he is not a factor? What are you scared of?

  16. Keep talking, Zambia has been auctioned to the highest bidder. They are making money for their bellies while you just comment, wish you all the best!

  17. Whenever you see voter apathy, know that the ruling party is winning. In 2016 if there is massive turnout, know that the ruling party is leaving. Thats just how it works.

  18. WATCH THIS SPACE: ” KAMBWILI DROPPED AS MINISTER OF INFORMATION AND DORA PROMOTED TO MINISTER OF INFORMATION”

    • Totally agree, Dora Siliya is a more sensible person than Kambwili. Trust me Kambwili is going out whether he likes it or not. This guy is very unstable in his head. Time to get rid of him, he is devisive; going by his behaviour in the past few months. Kolopa.com. welcome Dora to the cabinet.

    • This might actually happen. He might not be brave enough to do it now but after the 2016 elections, Dora will definitely be minister

  19. The people have spoken, the people on the ground, not the bloggers. The PF total sweep totally contrasts the anti-PF propaganda that has lately taken root on internet media. The weakeness of propaganda is this: the propagandists become so boxed up in their delusions they actually end up consuming their own falsehoods more than any one else. I hope this defeat jolts them from their slumber or they had better brace for sad days in 2016.

  20. Ndekolopa kolopa ndimukule wancito. Lol

So, its true UPND are the real perpetrators of electoral violence. How come in the 2 by-elections were they had a slight chance of winning, we have records of violence????

  21. hunger knows no boundary. you can continue singing PF! PF! PF! but your relatives even those who voted had no breakfast, they don’t know what they will eat at lunch.

Come on guys don’t hate someone because of tribe, you will not eat tribe, you will not dress tribe, you will not work tribe. the truth is plain the economy is moved from prospect to worst under PF. And you are not ashamed of even saying ifintu ni lungu. The debts are souring high beyond redemption. when this country plungs into abject poverty it will not spare you. You are busy bloging rubbish instead of analyzing issues. PF has no direction and it is fast leading this country into degradation and spoils.

    • What a dull analyst, and you think HH will put breakfast or just plain three square meals on each and every table? That’s the problem with gullible UPeND vuvuzelas, busy promoting an unsalable product! Simply put school has not done you any good!

    • And yet those fuuus are ruling the intelligent? Kolopaling them even in their backyard?
Use your intelligence to note that your leader understands business. Not leadership.
Try Nkombo, I just may think of damping PF.

    • @Kakolwe
Isn’t Nkombo a Tonga? Would you not still accuse UPND of being tribal by replacing a Tonga with Tonga & yet another Tonga? I mean from Mazoka, to HH & now foolishly you suggest Nkombo? Why Nkombo of all people? Even BaMazoka in life was always accused of being tribal but posthumously teasingly praised as a great leader by your likes. What will stop u from teasingly praising HH as great leader once he leaves the political scene?
It seems you are stereotyped to think UPND is for Tongas. In your blog why not suggest like “Try someone else, I just may think of damping PF” than saying “Try Nkombo, I just may think of damping PF”. By your suggestion aren’t you being tribal yourself? I’m now made 2believe ure comfortable with any Tonga without financial muscle leading UPND…

  22. I am still looking for @mbinji who was day dreaming yesterday. I told him this is Zambian politics. And 2016 is not even that far for things to dramatically change. UPND should start looking for a another leader. HH has failed too many times.

    • Mau is a ”Nyanja” word which simply means, something like a speech, some corruption of vernacular. So when one says am mauless it simply means speechless. Where did you grow up from?

  23. DORA SILIYA should now give use a speech about the State of the Economy and the legislature’ position. DORA you are either magnetic or candid. How you’ve quickly got a grip of ALUNGU is anyone’s guess. You have PF under your spell already as if you personally formed the party 10 years ago. I am mulless and numb just now.

    • Dora is a tactician, real politician, I feel sorry for Kambwili. He is almost on his way out, mark my words.

    • @Analyser
what is mulless? I can’t find it in Oxford Advanced Learners’ Dictionary or in Ms Office 2013 Word synonyms? Ms Word look up suggests Mule’s, Mules, Mullets, moles, etc.
I have heard it many times in vernacular but can’t figure its exact meaning!

  24. Well done PF HH is not a politician he must start from local government as a councilor and then MP not just from the blues he wants to be a president it can’t happen.

  25. I miss Mazoka, HH is taking UPND nowhere. He has all the money and what not, but ha has simply failed to endear the electorate to his political project. About time he re-strategised for 2016; kneeling for votes merely evokes the Sata 90-days banter – and we hated it and still do. Going round combonis lifting mealie meal, and helping to cook nshima mu ma market isn’t just working. Avulike wire!

  26. Ba Milupi instead of organising your party busy making noise in Lusaka you cannot go to campaign for his candidate losers

  27. YOU SEE WINNING BY ELECTIONS IS EASY COMPARED TO WINNING A GENERAL ELECTION,YOU PF CADERS I ASK YOU AGAIN,IF EDGAR KNOWS HE IS WINNING THE 2016 ELECTIONS,WHY IS HE SCHEMING TO DEFER THE ELECTIONS TO 2020?

    • PLEEEEASE! For the umpteenth time!! Get out of your make-believe convictions and strategies on real issues for once. How is it that you upnd are always beaten by your constant concentration on frivolous issues? You spend time arguing on what Lungu Said, what Chama ate, when power was cut, what Dora said 10yrs ago, what Kapita stole. In the meantime, your friends are dealing with the real electorate on the ground and not in the blogworld. I need you to reorganize. You are the ONLY opposition party around, so DON’T lose it! SHA!!!!!!!!

    • There you go again Mbinji! Who said Lungu wants to defer elections? The problem with you guys is you take anything that is forced down your throat by the useless and gutter site, the ZWD run by HH and his cohorts!

  28. Hildah Malama ndiwe chizende. VIVA DORA and thank to the people of Petauke, keep the same spirit in 2016.

  29. @MUSHOTA
You are the one who is STUPID because you dont win elections by using remote control but by participating in the elections through voting to which you dont vote. Think before you open your dark mouth full of dirt saliva.

  30. on watchdog and lusakatimes one may be misled into thinking UPND is very popular…whitewash nafuti nafuti! kekekekeke

  31. These losses are too much and we do not know why President HH is silent about holding NC before it is too late.

  32. Kolopa.com well done ba PF…….HH,Membe,Mucheleka,Mulongoti and ZWD should be ashamed because the people of Zambia have spoken. The people of Zambia are clever and you cant influence their thinking thru slander in a news paper or online.

    • Bonse aba niba fikala (Mmembe, Mucheleka, Mulongoti, except HH I can’t call him as such, still respect him a bit).

  33. True the UPND national management committee is not doing it’s work. We need new people from across the country us a matter of urgency.

  34. 2016 IS A DIFFERENT BALL GAME ALTOGETHER BECAUSE EACH ONE WILL BE FIGHTING FOR HER/HIMSELF.IF EDGER IS POPULAR AND SURE OF WINNING IN 2016,WHY IS HE SCHEMING TO DEFER THE ELECTIONS TO 2020?

  35. I feel pity for the double loss of UPND members who were shot. The party need’s new leadership in all party structures, from branch to NMC.

  36. UPND staff at the secretariat have become big headed and not performing. Need complete change in order to move the party if we are to win in 2016.

  37. How unprofessional of the ZWD. They have run this story in a very short paragraph. More like comment from @mbinji

  38. This is la bish!you people why are you voting for this party, for what reason. This party has no vision, this party has no heart for this land.Look at the economy, look at the cost of living, nothing is making sense in this land. Now they are bring Bakabolala Mushibila nsala People like Dola,Banda, former head of state inga uwatwele umulandu ku court, uwatwele Dola ku court.P>F has lost the step under the readership of Lungu. We have no head of state no ministers nothing a country with no readership qualities.

    • Don’t worry. Keep those qualities in the opposition because they make us give a semblance of multi-party democracy. Yet deep in our hearts we know that opposition ended when Mr Sata got into govt. Opposition shall rise again when someone with charisma and friendly person rises out of Zambia. Between now and then, we need you, the leadership quality opposition leaders, to continue making eloquent, wise, visionary, rich rhetoric. In this way, we keep the donors at bay.

  39. These are elections from rural areas, they don’t understand what suffering PF has subjected us to.For Petauke to vote for Dora shows how tribal easterners can be. No wonder the kwacha is losing value on daily basis.

    • That’s a very dull comment there from Chatasha, supposedly from someone in the urban area! These rural guys are the people whom the pangs of hunger have become a part of their daily life! But in their own way they have developed survival tactics! It’s things like medical, school, water facilities that they crave for most, of course with good road infrastructure to transport their produce easily! Your comments about rural voters whenever you loose speaks volumes of you guys being elitists! Kulibe kwamene muyenda with that kind of perception about the majority poor! You think you can get to Plot 1 with votes from Kudu Road only?

  40. This is an indication of what is coming in 2016.UPND under HH will never be in power.HH has no direction and must give up now otherwise he will be embarrassed again in 2016.HH has no heart for Zambia, he is tribal, too selfish, power hungry and a dictator. If he has any manners he should give up and surrender the UPND presidence to someone else.As long as UPND is led by HH they will never form overnment! The PF is now taking seats from the UPND strong holds. This is a sign that HH is a failed politician.EL and PF are miles ahead of the UPND and their perpetual loser HH.Shame on HH shame on UPND.Where was Muvi TV ? Shame!!

    • Muvi was not present beacause Costa Mwansa this time around did not get the ZMW2,000,000.00 for him to conduct those fake opinion polls! I guess the ka boy with a hard shiny forehead has realised that the HH guy is not salable whatever the tactic!

  41. @1 Twende in …..the UK, they’d be slapped with a wet slippery fish, proper!

UPND and it’s analytical, ‘youths, ….erm Yobos’ ……futuristic(honestly one of them called themselves that), need to join the rest of ‘serious’ Zambia.

We mean business when we pick our Leaders. We want a steady and peaceful environment to support growth of our economy. Loud mouths need not apply! Please go flash your cash elsewhere!

Welcome Hon. Siliya you are a much needed addition to PF and a good Parliamentarian. Please keep on the serious side of People Representstion this 2nd time around.

  42. UPND, all you need is to re-brand the party. You need to make a choice, whether you like UPND or HH. HH is not a party, UPND is a party. If HH is not leading the party to victory, he is not fit to lead. Remove him and re-brand.

HH will keep on giving you false hope. He made a mistake tom accept leadership on regional grounds. This matter will not go away. HH will drag the party down with him. There will be no UPND beyond 2016.
