The opposition Zambia Direct Democracy Movement (ZDDM) has registered displeasure in the reportage of the privately owned Post Newspaper.
ZDDM Vice President Charles Kafumbo observes that the Post Newspapers in its reporting published and circulated articles that have allegedly injured some people in society with impunity.
Mr. Kafumbo says the opinions of the Post Newspaper could promote divisions.
This is according to a petitioned signed by Mr. Kafumbo released to ZANIS in Lusaka today.
The ZDDM Vice President urged the Newspaper to endeavour to report, preach, distribute and circulate articles on love, unity, reconciliation and national building since Zambia was founded on One Zambia, One nation motto.
“The Post Newspaper should endeavour to report, preach, distribute and circulate love, unity, reconciliation and above all national building,” he said.
He said as a people, we need to unite, to love one another and never preach hatred and disunite in accordance with the biblical teachings.
“I petition Post Newspaper Managing Director, Mr Fred Mmembe, Editors and staff to strive and preach love to unite the nation and not to strive to divide the nation,” Mr. Kafumbo stated.
By press time, efforts to get a comment over the matter from Mr. M’membe proved futile.

Mr Kafumbo, please ask President Lungu to fire that thugDavies Chama. Chama’s remarks are very demeaning to all Zambians. VP Inonge had said govt would issue a comprehensive statement and distanced herself from Chama. But nothing much has happened since the president returned from his medicals in SA. It seems Edgar has taken sides with Chama

It is the PF government that is clearly preaching hatred and division among its people. We have been one country with our brothers, the Tongas having their notable level of sacrifice for zambia, the benefits now being enjoyed by the likes of Lungu and Chama. If they meant unity, a simple sorry would have worked the magic; but the events suit their myopic strategy. I feel sorry for no Inonge Wina.
I never heard this chap condemn Chama for tribal remarks so he better keep quiet or he will also become a target of Mr M’membe and those of us who think his opinions are basically trash. just being polite.

What Kafumbo is saying is we give the other cheek for the sake of one Zambia.
Why not tell PF to govern the country equitably. After all they have the power to lead by love.
For as long as 60% of Zambians go hungry while a few are looting this country, some of us are resolved to fight.
If this current Zambia will have to burn so a new equitable Zambia is born so be it.
Great countries were born out of principled men & women who stood up for what is right.

It is not Mmembe it the people who are careless in issuing statements. The paper is only supposed to be reprimanded if they report wrongly. Chama has not denied that he said this. What the Post is reporting is real because some tribes have developed the arrogance that they are the only ones who can rule this country. This is real and should be discussed and reported correctly so that it can be stopped. I commend the post for this. The danger is not with the reporters but the one who issues the statements.
Miles Sampa issued a similar attacking statement when he said Tonga People should be marrying Bemba Women if they want to rule this country. That was in Parliament. Can you problem this on the Post newspaper? This is real and the people behind this should stop.
So please do not accuse Mmembe but the person who issued the statement. These statements are issued in the public so how can you blame the Post and Mmembe. That is being shallow.
Tell the thugs who issue such statements to stop and there will be nothing for the Post and Mmembe to report about. But if they can continue there is no need to stop reporting and let the nation know.
The post, when it used to report randomly and truthfully, was my best paper. Eventually I noticed that it became a tool for insults name calling and above all the opposition to one obvious party . The paper is blind to evils by other parties, societies, and is no more the paper that used to dig deeper. The people behind the tabloid must know that problems do not go away just because you ignored them. Now those problems are with them and need someone to lean on. And it does not need a scientist to know reasons why the target is that particular party. It is simply because the said party does not want to associate itself with the devil.
The Past newspaper is a no good source of news as in the posts of Joey Mwiinga and mercutio era. Mmembe now uses it to churn his poison mindset to the masses and tries to play ping pong with the readers. His negative energy is actually a blessing in disguise for the other tabloids to fill the void as Mmembe continues to spit in the wind.
