The Patriotic Front (PF) has described the attack by Chongwe Member of Parliament Sylvia Masebo on President Edgar Lungu as shameful.
PF Member Charity Banda said the attacks on President Lungu by Ms Masebo clearly show that the Chongwe MP is not an inspiration to women in the political arena especially to young women intending to join politics.
Ms Banda said it was uncalled for conduct by Ms Masebo when she was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday to publicly attack the Head of State is not inspiring.
In an interview with ZANIS in Lusaka today, Ms Banda said Ms Masebo has continued to dent the image of the political arena in the country because she has failed to consistently work with one political party.
Ms Banda has however advised Ms Masebo not to resort to showing her political frustration and instability but instead account and take responsibility for her alleged misdoings.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday arrested Ms Sylvia Masebo and charged her with two counts of abuse of authority of office when she served as Minister of Tourism and Arts.
ACC Acting Public Relations Manager Dorothy Mwanza said in the first count, it is alleged that Ms Masebo cancelled a hunting concession for the Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA).
Ms Mwanza said in the second count, Ms Masebo is said to have abused her authority of office by terminating contracts of employment of some senior ZAWA officers.
In March last year, Late President Michael Sata dismissed Ms Masebo as Minister of Tourism and Arts.

What is shameful is how lazy, spineless and shifty Lungu is as a President. While Sata could hardly spend a night away from State House, Lungu seems scared of spending even one night in State House. Is it haunted? What is Lungu scared of? He has no time to deal with national issues like load shedding or closed universities.
With the security the Zambian head of state has can a person manage to attack him ? If it happened I hope that it was not so bad that he dropped his waist beads.

It was Sata who fired Masebo and NOT Lungu. It was William Harrignton who requested for the tribunal to probe Masebo and NOT Lungu. So Masebo should not involve president Lungu in her court cases.

She is the only one who has denounced violence. PF survives on violence. Wait and see the blood battle that you will soon witness between min bus drivers and PF thugs. You cant see it now because the drivers have coiled their tails and they are paying the thugs money each time they load. Time will come when they will say ‘enough is enough’. PF leadership know to well that bus stations have become torture chambers. So let us wait and see.

I’m very positive the toothless ACC would not have dared to arrest. Masebo if she was. In good books pf president. Dora siliya’s case she is facing will not go any where because she is in good books with the those in power.
ACC like the zambia police force is part of the pf department. I’m not against arresting wrong doers not at all but I’m totally against selective arresting. ACC and police should work independently instead of receiving instructions of who to arrest and who is not supposed to be arrested.

Courts are not just for the poor but the rich and powerful too. Masebo should not start throwing mad at Edgar Lungu as if he is the one who made her to be in this problem. Lets argue and criticise within context. We are tired of comments that are made without basis all simply because one hates Lungu and prefers Nawakwi or whoever. Lets point to facts. If I was a visitor to Zambia and read the criticism heaped on Lungu I would be inclined to believe he has been leading this country for a minimum of 20 years!. Yet he has been in office for only 9 months. This is not right and not fair.
The more these crazy insults and unbalanced criticisms are presented the more people decide to continue with Lungu in 2016. People who do not respect fellow leaders do not deserve to lead.
