The case in which two Patriotic Front Members (PF) in Kitwe are charged with obstructing a police officer from perfuming his duty contrary to section 250 (b) of the Penal code Cap 87of the laws of Zambia, has been adjourned to August 18, 2015 for commencement of trial.

This was when the duo ‘s lawyer, Chitala Chali appeared before Kitwe Magistrate Ikechukwu Iduma in Kitwe today, and asked for an adjournment for him to get full instructions on the matter from his clients to prepare for trial.

Mr Chali , of G.M Legal Practitioners , submitted that he had received the appointment for the trial at short notice as such he needed time to get full instruction from his clients and prepare for trial.

He argued that the prosecution in the case would not be prejudiced as a result of the adjournment because it was the first time the case was coming for trial.

Magistrate Iduma obliged to the request and adjourned the case to August 18 for commencement of trial.

The two are Steven Kainga 49, who is PF Copperbelt Provincial Chairman and Stanley Chandindi 48, the PF provincial youth vice chairman, respectively.

Facts are that the duo whilst acting together on unknown date recently did allegedly attack the UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema in Kitwe for un explained reasons.

No one is above the law. Those suspected of having broken the law must be held accountable regardless of the social, economic or political standing in society

You are Dull and you will die Poor with your Zambia.

  3. The mystery of the PF thugs we saw under Sata carrying chains and various weapons remains unknown. The case the State Vs against Katele Kalumba has stopped moving or has been shelved and is now gathering dust. The same applies to the case the state vs Dora Siliya. This is going nowhere under this clueless and corrupt government .
