Former Chiengi MMD Member of Parliament Katele Kalumba has apologized to President EDGAR LUNGU and the PF for campaigning against the party in the January presidential election.

Dr Kalumba, who knelt down before Vice President Inonge Wina in Luwingu, asked for forgiveness saying he has regretted his action.

He told a gathering at Kaseya Primary School in Mushitu Wa Mboo in Luwingu that he was wrong to campaign for the UPND.

Mr. Kalumba, who was part of the UPND campaign strategy team, charged that he does not support regional politics and appealed to others to join the ruling PF.

Mr. Kalumba, who is MMD former Secretary General, observed that his party is no more and appealed to the member to join the ruling PF in order to foster development.

And Vice President Inonge Wina says the PF government has converted 1500 community schools into government schools since it assumed power.

Mrs Wina says the PF government is committed to improving the quality of education in the country.

The Vice President made the pledge when she called on Kaseya Primary School Head teacher Chistopher Chipepo in Luwingu District.

She said government has also embarked on a mammoth task to upgrade various rural Primary schools to secondary schools in a bid to make education accessible to everyone.

Ms. Wina however, bemoaned the poor sanitary conditions in most rural schools and pledged to change the scenario.

Earlier, Kaseya Primary School Head teacher Christopher Chipepo appealed for a 1 by 3 classroom block to help decongest the current classrooms.

  1. Good Lord! Why not just keep quiet and fizzle out of the limelight, Dr Kalumba give room to upcoming young Zambians to be heard than resurface at each given opportunity. I am sick and tired of by gone politicians who want to make believe that they are still a factor in modern dispensation!

    • Spot on! He has no shame & clearly he is looking for a Job. Why didn’t he see Regional politics then? His time is up he is better off running a farm with HH it suits them both with those boer shirts they re wearing.

  2. *****!!!!!!! Wizard!!!!!! Nfwiiti,u not welcome. Just stay there coz we need fresh and vibrant minds not old minds like u katele waumfwa!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. A year from now he will be appologising to HH. Lumba mus be feeling so embarrased or is it a business decision. Opposition is for real men. GBM,HH,Silvia,Mucheleka,Gary,Jack,Mutanga e.t.c. The others like KAKA, Pombo, Siliya tried and failed the test.

    • Yes we need the mentioned in opposition not in Government. It seems we don’t learn by using recycled politicians all the time.

  4. This Katele clown decided long ago that no low is too low for him. Just when you think he has sunk to the lowest possible level he manages to sink lower still.

  5. Ba Katele, you knelt before Chiluba, Mwanawasa and now Lungu. Don’t you think this is a bit too much kneeling for one pair of knees? Next year you will be kneeling before HH for kneeling before Lungu.
Where is your pride man? You are a PhD holder for crying out loud!!

  6. katele stop misleading people..What is regional politics?. A southerner comes to Northern to campaign you call it regional..??? Are you NOT all Zambians?

By next year you will be kneeling before HH.

  7. We knw yo maneurvers sir,plz stop tribal politics we are one, this time around we’re trying hh to see the difference btween northers/easters governance systems

  8. A hypocrite and opportunist such as Katele Kalumba should not worry anyone when he joins PF; in fact, that’s the party which suits him because he will be able to mingle with his fellow crooks.

  9. Ba LT, your reporting at times leaves readers in suspense. Katele is reported to have knelt before Inonge Wina and apologised for campaigning for HH in the last election. Did Inonge accept Katele’s apology or not? What did she say in relation to Katele’s apology? According to you, the apology is worth writing about but not the response. Is this fair to readers whose heads are left spinning?

    • @Saimbwende
I agree with your sentiments. Sometimes I wander when this high journalism will stop. LT needs to hire a qualified News Editor if they are to improve in reporting.
I love to read LT but most of the times it’s frustrating because of their crap reporting – Lift your game please.
I am not going back to the Past Newpaper.

    • @ Saimbwende & Bongo, Inonge (like most of us) now know what a clown & buffoon headman Katele is. The good lady just laughed it off & ignored him, she had a Headmaster to address.

  10. When is judgement day for this f.o.o.l we know he wants to be pardoned by Lungu when he goes in who is he fooling? All sense of pride gone I wonder what his wife thinks of him?

  11. Bo Inonge,
The community schools came in place for those kids who can not manage to pay school fees in public schools. It does not help turning community schools to government schools because kids will be sent home when school fees are due. Free education is not free because parents are still paying school fees.

  12. Ahhh, he is resigning from UPND to join PF for the 4th time? He announced 3 months ago and is announcing again? Njala imalengesa kuibala!

  13. Katele’s knees must be examined. He has done too much kneeling! Next year, he will be kneeling before HH, apologising for kneeling before Inonge Wina! As RB would say: “Njala yamunyokola”!

  14. What do we learn from such episodes? That most of our politicians live in a world of make believe. People were kneeling for Dr. Katele, now he is kneeling to, and begging whoever comes along as saviour. These are lessons to learn.

  15. Ukufukamina umwanakashi ninshi umwaume aChula yamunyokola kwena mwafweniko ba Chagwa. Mu Zambia namo! Nga PHD bakwata taibomba?
