Lusaka Province Police Commissioner Charity Katanga has warned UPND cadres that she will use maximum force to ‘wipe’ them out of Lusaka if they continue provoking the police.

On Wednesday, some UPND cadres clashed with police and burnt tyres and attempted to block the roads after police detained Chongwe Member of Parliament Sylvia Masebo for over 42 Hours.

But in an interview, Mrs Katanga accused the UPND are trying to turn Lusaka into a political battle field.

She said will deal with the UPND if they continue with their violent behaviour.

‘We wish to warm them again, they should not dare the police and think they will attract lawless, we will continue arresting them,’ she said.

Mrs Katanga added, ‘if they want to be wiped out of Lusaka, we will do exactly that, we will not condone any lawlessness. They want to turn Lusaka into a political battle field which is very unfortunate and will not be tolerated.’

  1. LT, why has it become difficult to post comments these days on this site especially from desktop. Even when you’re successful, comments only appear after about 30 minutes. I’m sure other bloggers will agree with me. Most of us love reading comments, they make our day.

    • @ Chosen One… Kikikikiki desktop?? You are so damn behind, 30 minutes!? You so backwards like the UPND burning tires, tires take so long time. Best UPND can do is to blog and make calls to Charity, not burning tires, is bad for environment.
Yes Charity send the Police to wipe-out all burnt tires, trash and former Chawama PF thugs who now in UPND. Clean Lusaka, it is too dirty.

    • Nostradamus
Kikikiki!! Where would LT be without your comments and that of Ndobo. You guys are funny.
By desktop, I meant viewing and posting comments from a none mobile or portable device. I have no problems posting or reading comments on tablet or mobile phone. But when I open a browser on my desktop or laptop, I simply can’t see the comments, neither can I post. This has to do with LT’s recent update I guess. I’m sure your colleague Ndobo will agree with me. Lol

    • Warning to Katanga!

Make sure you amass a lot wealth before the sun sets on you soon mune.

Katanga is an unprincipled overzealous police woman without morals at all. When PF id10ts run riot and kill people she does issue such threats but instead she hides under her desk refuses to answer questions and wets her self.

If she is tough as she has vomited, why has not managed to have the PF killers arrested. One PF PS in central province is running away and is afraid to perform her duties because of PF thugs are threatening to kill her and yet the same stupid Katanga and her colleagues are mute on the issue.

All these bad eggs like stupid Katanga in the Police need to be rooted out after 2016 when UPND take over.

If Katanga carries on being arrogant like this, Lusaka will burn…

  2. Just shoot them on site and pretend not to know anything. UPND is a very violent party and they need not to be near state house and even if it means rigging so be it. They can bring civil war in this country if you gave them power

    • You are right Beautiful Moma……, if UPND were to rule that will mark the beginning of civil war in Zambia, nobody will cough, remember the statement: Zambians are fools for not voting for HH!

    • She is protecting innocent people and properties from these hooligans in upnd uniforms and you say she will regret. People have now stopped thinking right. How can a normal person support violence sure. This desperation in upnd will cause them to start moving naked because their leaders are brainless

  3. Lawlessness should not be promoted by anyone. Deal with those that think they will gain political mileage from this scourge . Why are they affecting peace loving zambians because of one corrupt individual . moreover they are the same people who dragged masebo to the courts for her corrupt activities and today they turn around and say govt is harassing masebo. Under 5 party will never cease to amuse me.

  4. What is happening in Zambia is a page out of the Cartoon series Asterix! It appears that whenever someone shows a different stance against his/her leadership the opposition quickly rallies. It is both ludicrous and ridiculous. Now I understand why it makes comical reading for UPND VP to still claim PF membership and why it is that far left or far right in political parties are hounded out of their parties. What a comic relief Zambia is.

  5. The Public Order Act is the main problem, it gives the police tyranic power against anybody deemed to be a threat to those in government. If you are members of opposition, you can’t meet three or more and walk down the road together, especially if you’re putting on your party’s regalia. Seriously, in this day and age, people who think alike can’t wear similar clothes and walk together?! Today PF is misusing this law tomorrow it will be misused on them.

  6. I have been trying to understand all this. Is Masebo UPND? If Masebo is not UPND why does it take the Up and Downs to protest for her. The answer is simple. This childish under five regional tribal party likes seeking attentions by crying all the time. They are babies who can only be heard by making unnecessary noise. Come 2016 we will show them how it is done. kolopa

  7. You are a useless woman whose days are numbered. If you as tough as you pretend to be why not do the same to PF cadres then we will all respect you. Next year you will be history in prison for abuse of authority and power.

  8. we are tired of this minority group called UPND Anything its to sick sympathy to the public but thing is that every one knows them

  9. Charity Katanga is the type of law enforcing and patriotic citizens we need to deal with thugs. UPND chaps must firmed dealt with. They are thugs who think they can just start burning things and supporting even finished politicians like GBM, HH and Masebo.
Lusaka cannot be allowed to be turned in a kraal by these kachemas. My Iron Lady Charity Katanga, every peace loving Zambia is in support of you. Deal very firmly and hard with these UPND thieves. Bring the Mobile Police and Commandos and Lilayi boys to teach them a lesson.
Let them know that the mandate for PF is up 2021 and we more than happy to send these thugs in our jails where life is very good indeed.
Keep it up because yours is to keep law and order and no one should ever underrate your powers.

  10. Interesting . Yes….. but where was she when PF guys were carrying Axes in town even blocking roads, Is this woman protecting citizens or her Job, Anyway for any top Government official A strong opposition means joblessness , even those working for diplomatic missions, like most online PF caders it means coming back home if UPND wins, Sad story

  11. Pf and this Charity girl will soon loose out more than what they are trying to protect and save. UPND may be hunted like animals today as the pf police sees fit in pleasing their master but one day their master may not be there and they will need the same people they are haunting for jobs and help. So this Charity girl must be wary of what she is doing today to others.

  12. well said madam Katanga. Please teach these UPND thugs very good lesson they would never forget. How come today they make the same noise they made when taking Masebo to court. Its UPND that took Masebo to court and now since Masebo is not in good books with PF, the UPND turns round and start protecting Masebo the one themselves took to court. No wonder HH is called a Under5, he has no credibility .

  13. From reading the above comments the only violent people I see are the police under charity and the pf supporters who say police must “shoot them” , they must “wipe the *****s out”…..can you belive this is happening what happened to one zambia one zambia, the peaceful nation. She, charity is just making noise about nothing again !!!!

    • Nosense of UPND. You took Masebo to court of law coz according to you as UPND Masebo had a case to answer, how come now you have made a u-turn and say Masebo has no case to answer and you start disturbing peace in the country about it? Is this not typical behaviour of the Under5 politicians who want insipid attention from the public? If I were Katanga I would whip them in the moslem way in public so that they stop being sttupidy. Shame on UPND.

  14. Kikikikikiki …Mrs Katanga added, ‘if they want to be wiped out of Lusaka, we will do exactly that, we will not condone any lawlessness. They want to turn Lusaka into a political battle field which is very unfortunate and will not be tolerated.’……kikikikiki

Charity Katanga, you are cute, alert and professional.

I feel safer in Lusaka knowing that you are there to protect us innocent citizens from these political hooligans calling themselves cadres, headless cadres. Please inform me whenever you are on leave so that I temporarily shift to peaceful Sesheke until you are back in Lusaka, just can’t stand these underfive cadres!

    • Shame that she cannot protect us from REAL scourge of “politics” like robberies, rapes, thefts, corruption, nepotism…………….

  15. Where was this b!tch when PF cadres were wielding knives, machetes and axes in lusaka town centre a few months ago! She never did anything and she even made a statement to say there was no report about such disturbances even when the incident was captured by Muvi tv and your own(PF) mouth piece, ZNBC! Your days are numbered! Know that Edgar Lungu won’t be in power forever! There is a way in which you can handle the unruly behaviour of cadres of any political part but you become overzealous when it is the opposition and turn a blind eye when it is PF cadres! You ought to be ashamed of yourself you ugly b!tch!

  16. “I will wipe you out of Lusaka, Charity Katanga warns” ?????

Can someone please translate that into proper English???

Did this woman actually go to school? And attend English classes?

  17. Iwe’ Katanga, useless bootlicking Cadre!
You are supposed to be impartial, but we know who feeds that belly of yours.
Don’t worry, P.F, will NOT be in power forever. You will be wiped out from that post straight to poverty, & prison. Mark my words.

  18. KATANGA U RE THE MOST USELESS POLICE ON EARTH & NEXT YEAR U WIL CRY FOR YO JOB & YO BOSS LUNGU WIL CRY FOR HIS JOB ASWEL. DT THINK LUNGU WILL BE PRESIDENT FOREVER. KATANGA THE WAY U RE WORKING EVERY ONE KNOWS THAT U RE PF CADRE POLICE, FOOLISH WOMAN

  19. The words she used are not professional and scientific,am sure psychologists will tell her violence breeds violence,or scientists will say to every action there is an opposing force, that ***** can burn lusaka.

  20. Is this girl computer literate? I don’t see a laptop or desktop or anything in her office. Maybe that explains why she seem to think we are still in the Soviet era.

  21. If the police service and not post are supposed to be non partisan well i must be a fool because i can not see it…. When the incumbent SG of the PF shot someone it was never discussed… But on the contrary when a woman decides to walk home from court it is an act of trason!!! Just my thoughts..

  22. Ms. Katanga,
Whilst I may appreciate your frustration arising out of ages of political servitude, nevertheless your mode of verbal expression belongs to the same historical dustbin as language of your political masters.
Your job is to protect all people living in Zambia and to enforce law. Anything else it is illegal. Threats of “wipe you out” are unbecoming to the REAL police officer in a democratic society of 21st. Century.
After all, YOU and rank and file of ZPF are SERVANTS of the PEOPLE which pay you to maintain law and order and nothing else.
