ZAMBIANS should rally behind President Edgar Lungu in 2016 because he has exhibited sober leadership, Malole Member of Parliament Christopher Yaluma has said.

Mr Yaluma said the humility and wisdom President Lungu had exhibited in solving various issues affecting the nation were unprecedented hence the need for everyone in the country to support him beyond 2016.

“The President has shown unprecedented humility and wisdom since he took over, that is why there is need for everyone to rally behind his leadership beyond 2016,” he told hundreds of people that attended the rally at Malole village in Mungwi on Tuesday.

He reiterated Government’s commitment to continue prioritising road infrastructure to link the country and provide the much needed development especially to remote parts of the country.

Mr Yaluma who is Mines, Energy and Water Development Minister said Mr Lungu had shown seriousness in solving people’s challenges hence the need to give him a fresh mandate next year.

“He has shown true and serious statesmanship since he took over. We (the Government) have built more kilometres of roads than any other regime,” he said.

He said the PF Government had embarked on various infrastructure projects which had created various employment opportunities for the people.

Mr Yaluma said Government had revived the Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia (NCZ) which was almost defunct.

He said this had seen inputs being available in depots before the onset of the rains.

Mr Yaluma promised that before 2016 Government would rollout solar powered boreholes to all the villages to ease the challenge of water access by residents in rural areas.

He said the President would remain indebted due to the support the people of Malole gave him during the last presidential election.

  1. “Unprecedented humility” humility my foot! Please Mr. Yaluma if this is one way to ensure your continued stay in government by riding on Lungu’s back through trying to impose your opinion I would rather you keep it to yourself. The current situation in the country does not match sober leadership, humility (aiming to crush like a ton of bricks), wisdom, and serious commitment towards solving challenges the country is facing. Life is becoming unbearable each passing day for the ordinary Zambian and frustration is growing. While the rural people can not be equated on social challenges affecting those along the line of rail they too feel the effects of failure to meet what they attach value to such as none of their children being left out of class, three meals, health, employment, clothing…

  2. Contd……..and, better housing with at least cemented floors. Stop promissory notes and lying but install the solar boreholes now so that people will be drinking clean water as they line up to cast their votes!

  3. INDIFFERENCE NOT HUMILITY. THE COUNTRY IS IN AUTO PILOT. YOU CREATE PROBLEMS THAT IT TAKES YOU MONTHS TO SOLVE AND YOU WANT TO BE CALLED HEROES. LUNGU IS NOT HUMBLE HE IS OVERWHELMED AND DOES NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO. EVEN WHEN THERE ARE SOLUTIONS TO SOME OF THE PROBLEMS WE FACE HE DOES NOT CARE TO GET INVOLVED INSTEAD HE PREFERS TO TAKE TRIPS ABROAD. CHANGE IS CERTAIN AND CHANGE WILL COME! !!!!!!

  4. Nostradamus, FuManchu, loadist, & Napapa Sana,
You are all foreigners when it comes to voting, let alone campaigning. The local upnd carders will campaign on the ground, while you shall continue de-campaigning through your insults, again and again as upnd continues to lose. We the PF on the ground do not even mind about your insults. We just hear your insults and ignore for we trust that God almighty shall provide the Holy Spirit and make us vote for the humble. What we know is that amongst all the political leaders presently in Zambia only ECL is humble, steady, wise, never easily-humiliated/agitated by myopic under five, but a very hard working PF Leader. You are foreigners away in distant places where you are killing upnd….and we love you for what you do.

    • It is sad that you have been brain washed, we may be in far countries we know that the economy is biting because even our family members who never asked for financial assistance are now crying that the economy is biting. Be a cadre but use your head and see reality on the ground

    • @tesheti TO DISAGREE WITH LUNGU IS NOT TO INSULT HIM. THE VERY NATURE OF DEMOCRACY ALLOWS FOR THAT. ALL WE ARE SAYING IS THE POLICIES OF THE PF INSTEAD OF MITIGATING THE EFFECTS OF A TREACHEROUS WORLD ECONOMY THEY HAVE INSTEAD EXACERBATED THE PROBLEMS. SECONDLY YOU FAIL TO REALIZE THAT THIS IS BIGGER THAN YOU, YOUR FELLOW CADRES, THE PF, UPND OR HH. THIS IS ABOUT THE THE WHOLE COUNTRY BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY IT IS ABOUT AS HE FUTURE GENERATIONS OF OUR COUNTRY. WE ARE SUFFERING NOW BUT THIS IS NOTHING COMPARED TO WHAT OUR CHILDREN WILL GO THROUGH DUE TO THE DAMAGE TH PF HAS DONE. WHEN SHYLOCK COMES KNOCKING AND BOZ HAS ZERO WAIT AND SEE WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE KWACHA! WE NEED TO TURN THIS AROUND AND DO IT NOW. CHANGE IS WHAT WE NEED AND FAST. CHANGE IS CERTAIN AND CHANGE WILL COME!

    • @ Tesheti

We in the Zambian diaspora can make a huge difference to the Nations future. But give us the respect we are due.

You have raised an important point. Can we have the right to vote too? Many countries have POSTAL VOTING. Why is Zambia so far behind in this?????

  5. Humility and wisdom?

    What absolute and utter BULLSH!T.

Yaluma, if you cannot talk sense, better keep your mouth shut.

Lungu has clearly shown he is the most USELESS, incompetent and ignorant occupier of State House Zambia has ever seen! He could possibly even take first prize for the dullest person to have ever been elected.

On his watch the Kwacha has collapsed, the Nation has been thrown into darkness, the mines have closed and we are yet to have a single press conference from him explaining what he intends to do about it!

Never before has such incompetent, ignorance and arrogance been seen in Zambia.

  6. Mr. Yaluma, it is clear you are covering your back! Please keep quiet! The country (don’t blame external forces) is going through a terrible time, thanks to your government lack of indifference. These politics of hero worshipping should stop. Deep down you know that EL does not have humility. If he had he would have made an effort to address the nation’s problems. You sir are part of the problem because you don’t advise him. You are in charge of energy why haven’t you come up with a plan to reduce load shedding?you told the public that Zambia was importing power from a ship yet the power cuts are even worse now. There is no humility here.

  7. How is his Excellency humble? Just because he looks down when walking and likes holding his hands? I don’t think that is a proper way to assess someone’s humility. Mr Minister you are busy advising people to support ECL beyond 2016 instead of finding solutions to the current energy problems we are facing in the nation. Focus your energies in the critical areas and stop politicking as that will not solve the nations numerous problems. I don’t even know why you are still in that office, if this was the west you would have been fired ages ago.

  8. “Energy and Water Development Minister Mr Yaluma promised that before 2016 Government would rollout solar powered boreholes to all the villages to ease the challenge of water access by residents in rural areas.”

We are now in Mid September 2015. Roll out Solar powered boreholes to all Villages in rural Areas in THREE months? This is an example of a flat lie. This man is clearly taking advantage of vulnerable people.

  9. I THINK THOSE ARE SIGNS OF DESPERATION. IT SHOWS THERE IS PANIC SOMEWHERE BEHIND THE SCENES.

PF have created their own downfall. They should have listened to the people by avoiding excessive borrowing in order to please and blind the people. They did not foresee the plummeting Kwacha, the erratic power supply, falling copper prices, RISING UNEMPLYMENT, and worse of all UNOBJECTIVE AND INCONSISTENT POLICIES which change every day depending on which side someone woke up.

I seriously feel BAD GOVERNANCE has cost them the popularity.
