Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) President Edith Nawakwi has said that the prevailing economic situation in the country does not support the creation of more Ministries.

Ms Nawakwi said that while she has in the last four years been advising the PF Government to split those ministries which had been merged by late President Michael Sata, it is costly to create a new ministry for instance out of the ministry of Finance.

She added that that the ruling party appears to be lost as can be seen from the manner they are running the affairs of the country.

Ms Nawakwi stated that the country has been in a total mess from the time the PF government took over power the MMD because of alleged poor leadership.

On Friday last week, President Lungu announced the splitting of some ministries to create five more ministries.

  1. she shoul have rather said from the time Edgar & his minions, coupled with his tendem of thieves being embraced at the party’s peril; otherwise it would be wrong of her to collectively state that all have made things difficult when in the actual fact she knows that Micheal, may his soul rest in peace, is supposed to be respected.what a critic!

    • In my opinion Micheal started this mess. He had 3 ministers in most gov departments. He brought in his uncle Chikwanda the borrower, didn’t take any advice, he didn’t explain his actions to the electorates. It is also right to say he didn’t care. It’s had for anyone to follow up after Sata. We all know how ECL ended being president. If ECL should die of a heart attack I would blame the entire PF machinery. Van Gaal struggled to follow up after David Moyes, the guy messed up the team. It’s sad that ECL will be judged yet the mastermind is praised by you.

    • Simple logic, which unfortunately is missing in PF, should tell you that creating 5 ministries is not a priority for the country at the moment. The money they will use to pay MPs like Dora and Simbao who by the way are already employed should have gone to production, start up youth ventures that will n turn create more employment. When Edgar said he had no plan, he meant just that. Can Edgar and team tell us how much this useless project will cost?

    • I don’t care what Edith said, what I know whatever she says will just sound romantic to me. She should do more of this talking.

  2. Nawakwi is so drank with envy and jealousy for PF……Madam give credit when it is due. These ministries will now operate more effectively and efficiently.

  3. Nawakwi the bitter woman who will never ascend ton power. She is being used by Mmembe and the cartel crew. I don’t like her bitterness even if she is my tribes-woman. She talks about things that her party don’t believe in and do. Mayo muleikala fye ngatamukwete ifyakulanda. You are now an empty tiny together with Antony. You always rant with less facts. #NawakwiTheBitterWoman

  4. Zambia ranked as the poorest country in 2014 2015 open to debate, denial and serious thinking. Google presscave top poorest countries in the world in 2015.

    • Presscave was created by zwd to backup their propaganda stories. Google from sites that are credible . just the name press cave should tell you something.

  5. @ hold politicians accountable; Pliz young man dont exhibit your ignorance at a big forum like this one. Do u know Zambia’s economic classification on the global scene?Just to help u;Zambia’s is now classified as a developing nation with a gross domestic of about $28 billion just for your knowledge. So I urge u to research before u blog anything.

  6. The Lazy Bum Edgar is likened to a Gambler in Casino who continues to play straight through the night with his children’s school hoping for his luck to change…the man is so incompetent that he has not made absolutely no effort cut back on spending.

  7. I once held Edith in high esteem and looked to her as a role model. She inspired me. However, her disrespect and evil language to the Head of State have greatly discouraged me. I now hate politics with passion. Her way of doing politics leaves much to be desired. It is a great shame and embarrassment to the female fraternity.

  8. Can we have well thought out headlines and proof reading of articles for publishing? Some postings makes one wonder if the people who serve us with news are trained journalists or just way side story tellers! A little more effort and interest will make reading Lusaka Times more pleasant

  9. YES MAMA. TELL THE PROVEN FAILURE (PF). HE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT HE IS DOING. ZAMBIANS WE HAVE TO RETIRE THESE FAILURES ONCE AND FOR ALL. PLEASE WE HAVE TO CHANGE THE CONSTITUTION SO THAT A GROUP OF CLOWNS LIKE THESE CAN NEVER BE ALLOWED TO GOVERN. THERE SHOULD INTENSIVE SCREENING PROCESS OF PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES BEFORE THEY APPLY BY AN INDEPENDENT BODY OF EXPERTS (MEDICAL TEST, INTELLECTUAL TEST, BACKGROUND TEST). ONLY CREDIBLE CANDIDATES SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO STAND ON THE VARIOUS PARTY TICKETS.

  10. The biggest mistake made was to put Sata in state house. The man was just waking up and start making announcements; I’m going to create so many districts, let there be a university in so and so, let there be stadiums in so and so places like a magician. You cannot embark on so many projects with a very limited budget, economics yakana. The man was doing all this without even bothering to explain to the electorate why he was behaving the way he did. He simply didn’t care! Within no time all the monies that he found in the treasury was swept clean and embarked on errands of endless borrowing with his relative Chikwanda. What is the end result now! We are almost back to HIPC times, very unfortunate! In short it was a grave mistake to have put these illiterate Kaponyas in government and…

    • The biggest blessing Zambia had was to put Sata in state house. The best President ever, very practical, very pragmatic and he has initiated unprecedented development in just 3 years. Others were just pretenders.

  11. Continued: and every normal thinking person should regret that costly mistake of having to put Sata in state house and it must never be repeated!

  13. # Hold Politicians Accountable thank you for the info. There’s no denying that Zambia has become very poor under PF. while the few are living like kings and queens, the majority are living in real poverty

  14. Ms Nawakwi said that while she has in the last four years been advising the PF Government to split those ministries which had been merged by late President Michael Sata, it is costly to create a new ministry for instance out of the ministry of Finance.

  15. PF stand a chance to win next elections since they have reduced US$ to K5000, created 500 000 high paying jobs, reduced PAYE tax to 10%, reduced grocery prices by 74%, reduced debt to just $1,7 billion, there is no load shedding

  16. Let Nawakwi speak her mind, especially that he is a fomidable leader of vast experience. Lungu has to have a re-visit on the type of people providing him with pieces of advises. These are wrong people bent on securing their jobs. The changes for me would have been better brought in after the 2016 elections. What is on the ground was late SATA’s archtecture and LUNGU is just completing late SATA’s first term and he need’t change a lot of things just under a year to go otherwise he will go into deep waters economically . He could have changed his DINASOUR Minister of finance and planning in the meantime.
