Former Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Mwamba says he is ready to concede defeat if he loses in the impending by-election.
Mr. Mwamba says it would be the wish of the people of Kasama Central if he loses and therefore he cannot reject their choice of whom they prefer to represent them in Parliament.
He has however told QFM News in an interview that he doubts anyone else other himself can win the by-election.
Mr. Mwamba says he does not think PF candidate Kelvin Sampa is any closer to matching his popularity in Kasama Central to beat him in the by-election.
He states that all the people that voted for him when he stood on the PF ticket in 2011 have now followed him to the UPND.
Mr. Mwamba says this is why he does not think what happened in Lubansenshi where the immediate past Member of Parliament Patrick Mucheleka was defeated would repeat itself in Kasama Central.
He adds that he is ready to counter any form of electoral corruption and vote buying that allegedly characterized the Lubansenshi by-election in order to keep what he has termed as his Parliamentary seat.
I thought GBM is now in UPND a party of morals but his statement that, “that he is ready to counter any form of electoral corruption and vote buying…” is disappointing.
Well GBM much as I have lost hope in EL and his PF, it may happen that there is still a good number of people that wish to vote for PF. What happened in Lubansenshi may just happen to you too though you still stand a chance to win since PF is disorganized,lacks foresight and operational strategy!

This man has no credible following in Kasama Central. He will surely be severely and irreparably humiliated and disgraced.
GBM should just withdraw the case court,so that we determine who is more popular than who.Because popularity is not measured in the press but in the ballot.

He started off respectable in that article until his arrogance and stupidity too over, so this man would be a veep if UPND ever they won….really laughable!!
Well GBM is right, if you have to muscle up against bad vices during the by elections you just have to do it because it is clear that PF are paying millions anyway. Staying clean will not help the opposition as seen and witnessed in Lubansenshi. PF poured in millions to make sure they get the seat, they literally bought that seat and if UPND want the Kasama seat they should be prepared to fight financially, otherwise PF will grab it easily. Nothing sinister about what GBM said, it is just the truth n the ground.
So what you are saying is that GBM won that seat by vote buying since he was in PF until recently.

When PF won Lubansenshi, they paid people to win. I have not read any comment saying UPND won in Solwezi after paying people. Anyway what we should know is that the Zambian voters are getting wiser by the day in their voting like it or not. You can bribe them but the don’t kubeba thing happens when one isin the ballot box. Let the best candidate win.
