  1. Mr. Kambwili didn’t see this coming.

Excellent response from HH. I also like the way he explained the 18. October prayer day. All those who had issues I hope he has answered them.

    • Kambwili was put in his rightful place by a very calm and knowledgable HH. It shows you the calibre of PF ministers. Last night another PF Minister couldn’t read prepared speech on ZNBC. How can such illiterates ran a modern economy?

    • HH gave some good answers but they were totally clouded by his lack of respect for Chishimba Kambwili…….which in itself shows a lack of leadership traits in HH….
1.First and foremost I am very glad that Mr. Kambwili has called and his call confirms, what he has said on this radio confirms his limited understanding, complete limited understanding. It has confirmed the poor quality of minister he is and I will show you why just now
2.It is simple,he doesnt understand.Let me serve him a little bit of grey matter
      3. . Kambwili, my brother please respect those who know more than you in certain areas.

    • Kambwili won this- HH takes long to explain a comment and I am officially withdrawing my support, he sounds terrible and uninspiring.

      Thanks
      BB2014

    • Kambwili may do better in UPND. He is really following what HH’s mind is up to. How can even a minister have time to be listening to that long radio show? Was it Friday yesterday, maybe because he is minister of information & broadcasting, therefore his tasking is to listen to radio and watch TV.

    • Kambwili has exposed himself. How do you come and say that
“the South African Rand has depreciated
from $1 = R 5 in the last 6 months to $1 = R 14” when the fact is the rand has only depreciated from $1 = 11.89 to $1 = R 13.35 in the period he is referring to? The lack of knowledge is too wide. This man should be fired from cabinet ASAP.

      Check for yourselves.
      ****

    • cHImbwili – brazils number one export = Teal

Is it Teal records Zambia of the 1970-80’s?

      @Mushota
“HH takes long to explain a comment”, so you say!

Would he not be the perfect man if he takes long to release in you if at all you are a woman?

      Wine gets better with time!

  2. I blame the appointing authority silence is golden mwaona a chimbwili leave economics to the people with the grooming for it.

    • Why Zambians like wasting time to greet people, when they know that they even naturally slow in talking and doing things like Edgar. Each caller is asking how is HH, how his family, how is your cows…. heeeeh we are busy please.

  3. Wooow!! PF Fools like Kashimba Chimbwili always expose themselves….he should have just kept quiet! They say silence is always Golden because your opponents would not know what your thoughts are even when they are flawed!!
Pure ignorance in Kashimba has been exeposed – there is no way Kashimba can understand economic terms like “elasticity” of supply! They never covered that at Night School at Copperstone University! So why did he choose to expose his ignorance then??
Even Lungu has no clue but at least he hides his lack of vision by keeping quiet and avoiding press conferences – that’s what we call a clever fo.ol!
Really does that smelly fat chap Kambwili think he can stand up to HH in any department? We know already his ego has been badly trounced even on this small skimirsh!! What…

  4. But, why did Kambwili even think of calling? Why didn’t he just stay quiet and listen to the program? He has a small brain!

  5. The difference Between Kabwili and HH is that Kambwili’s arguments are practical based on experience while HH’s are theoretical based on his Master’s degree. How can HH say Zambians are used to low level analysis? which high level analysis has he given us ever since he got into politics? Look at his campaign promises he made last year, where those promises of high quality. He made more wild promises than Lungu. The truth about this guy is that, he is just a good debater with full of theories. What he speaks about is not what he does. He has blinded many by thinking that he is rich because he is a good business man. The fact is this guy just bought shares in companies that are well organised and already running after stealing money from the privatization of mines. The management of most…

    • Peace Keeper, this is exactly what HH is talking about! Your level of analysis is just too low as that of Kambwili! U mean upto now u still don’t know that anything u put into practice starts from a theory…….mental modelling? The theories HH is putting across to u are very logical en if practised properly can resolve most of the problems we are facing today as a country! U must surely be very surprised to hear Kambwili not understanding consequences of replacing a cadre for skilled personnel at Zesco. If this sounds normal to u, then u must be an ***** too.
On the privatisation issue, HH was consulted en he got his consultancy fees without arm twisting any body en so what is wrong with that? If u have evidence that he stole, bring it out otherwise, just shut up!!!!

    • QnA

      wrong
      correct answer 4 years
other questions reserved too elementally like rand value jan to now, party carders or engineers performance or non performance

  6. most of his companies is composed of whites from South Africa and not HH. For example More beef, the company running the Choma and Chisamba farms is run by a white farmer. As for me, I can not be cheated by what HH says, he is a tricky star. While KAmbwili is debating on facts, HH goes on assasnating his character, exposing his bitterness. Careful Zambians with this guy.Listening to how he responds to his opponents, I dont think HH can withstand attacks that Lungu is receiving from for example the post and UPND. He will end up being a dictator because he caries traits of a dictator. You can tell even the way he is responding to people on this interview.

    • @Peace Keeper, I agree with most of what you have said, especially listening to responses and back and forths between the two personality. I am a little skeptical about your insinuation of a white farmer running the Choma and Chisamba farms. From a personal experience I was swindled by my BLACK Zambian farm manager LEFT RIGHT AND CENTER!!! I turned no profit in the four years he ran my farm into the ground (monkeys ate my maize, wild hogs dug up my potatoes, the excuses were endless). …continued

    • (continued) BUT when my new manager who is a Zambian of mixed background (Obama-type) took over, within a year the monkeys and hogs had disappeared and I was turning a profit. What do you say to that? He used the same inputs that the previous manager was mismanaging. What is your take on that?

    • Now you really really remind me of Kambwili. In PF you all sound the same.I hope your Kambwili is not your children’s hero.Did you listen to Kambwili claiming that he’s only been in govt for 3 months? Did you listen to that? Kambili has been in govt for 4 years now. He deliberately forgot that. That Rand in SA was 9-1$ in January and Kambwili decided to twist facts. Look, Kambwili doesn’t know how to reaserch and you call that practical is that. What is practical about ignorance? I feel sorry for you the Kambwili followers.

    • @peacekeeper….
…show me a Zambian politician who is not a trick star especially those in current govt…apart from madam Wina and Mulyokela….I will show you a pig which can fly….
…China recently manipulated their currency… devalued it on purpose to gain on exports…..everything you see started as an imagination…the theory you have referred to…its a presentation and the management of the product of that theory that matters…only if you have theoretical knowledge about something would you keenly manage and maintain it….it does not mean that if you can drive a car then you can maintain it…u still need to take it to the garage…we need politicians like a mechanic who can drive, repair and maintain…most of the politicians are just drivers…

  7. Kabwili is right and my In-law HH is simply politicking If you see the developments in the South Africa economy you will see that reserves as seen on the performance on current account have not performed as per plan in trades in goods and Services He can evaluate the monthly purchasing manager Index and see the productivity and sales arising and see the slump Its true by KAMBWILI that South Africa exports are experiencing slower growth and demand arising from slower global demand conditions for goods and services especially Commodities There is no devaluation of the rand to stimulate exports as purse ITS basically market conditions Infact the…

    • Are you delusional or just gullible, what do you think a politician is and politics is? You can not separate the two they will always “politick” its part of the job description…do you honestly think that lazy man in State house calling a national day of pray and reconciliation is for the good of the country and the economy? Its all politics and gaining political mileage from the docile masses.

Wake up from your docility and stupor!!

  8. depreciation of the RAND has been a source of concern by RESERVE BANK OF SOUTH Africa on domestic inflation pressure on the Local economy that averaging around 5% As for Zesco the opposite is true of what he said The fortunes for Botswana are not so much difference to Zambia except the demographics and quality of yields per pound that translates into cash

The same fate affects Botswana in its Minerals trades with Switzerland reaping the value Chain Though Botswana has restructured to ensure it reverses

HH should response to Kabwili lacks economic fundamental analysis and should have taken time to respond to a search KABWILI comments in Questioning It…

  9. HH will not be a dictator but tough president who cannot be given 20 Jameson to drink in one night so that after that he can make a serious presidential decision. The culture of corruption that the PF has taken to a higher level from where RB left it requires such a tough president. Remember that this is what we were expecting Sata to be. But Sata was quickly hijacked by Fred Mmembe’s cartel. HH can never be hijacked by Fred Mmembe that is why even today Fred is not really keen to see HH as president. but again he is in so much trouble with the PF.

  10. Mwai alias Peace Keeper, your English sound like Kambwili’s. You need to polish it up a bit for anyone to understand and take you serious here. You’re alone on that argument by the way. I wish you listened to the live programme. Kambwili is just an empty bucket, go and ask your wife, she will tell you that. Kambwili can not be compared to HH in any sphere. Everything about HH is above Kambwili. Everything my brother. Look, if HH decides to employ Whites and things are working well, why cant you admire the chap for using his initiative, for being clever? Isn’t that what you want for your business? Or rather you would like to run down your farms like you’re running down the country? The real reason why our beloved country is shutting down is because of the likes of Kambwili who can’t…

  11. What type of radio studio is this where mobile phones are vibrating, ringing and people talking in the background and the interviewer is always say “erm erm erm” all the time very amateur. On BUFFOON Kambwili this is not the first time he has called in a radio interview he did this with that Father Bwalya (when he was a somebody) and was exposed…the man doesn’t know that he is a govt spokesman so he represents Govt every time he opens his noisy mouth. I do not think HH read that report from EIZ if he did as he claimed his response would have been swift and spot on on the issue of load shedding…as for countries like RSA also experiencing it he is right there its an issue of demand but RSA also started to counter this issue 6-10 years ago by investing in other sources of energy which…

    • ..my brother jay jay…
…I think the background noise..voices is from zedcorner and not radio phoenix…zedcorner must have been recording this caption from their office and uploaded it on LT…

    • @ Jayjay;
Zambia is now shabbily run, using the same shoddy quality control we see allowed to fester at this useless Radio station, to manage our governmental institutions.
This lack of professionalism rarely happens in other African countries, BUT in Kambwili’s, & P.f’s eyes is the acceptable norm.
Kambwili will now tell us, “because we have such shoddy substandard radio transmissions in Zambia, its okay for other Countries to follow suit, & make such radio transmissions the norm.”.
The calibre of Politician running Zambia is mind boggling to say the least!

  12. @Peace Keeper, what practical arguments has Kambwili given? You need to ho back to school baba. PF has failed the Zed economy because they don’t understand simple economics and because of replacing experienced and qualified people with unqualified cadres. Take for instance the Australian currency which has gone down. It has gone down because they want to encourage the export market to export more and also the tourism industry to have more tourists to come in and spend their money here due to a weaker dollar. In the end Australia’s economy will gain. What is Zambia exporting? I am drinking Tanganda tea from Zim and Rooibos tea, Joko tea and Mazoe from South African. But I have never seen anything made in Zambia here. More forex going to South Africa and more jobs for South Africans but…

  13. Kambwili represents the caliber of ministers in charge of Zambia, all very dull. The list is endless of these ministers proving them selves brain dead on air. GRZ should do away with making these kaponya MP s incharge of government ministries, let professionals be incharge of ministries, let these dull MP s see to development in their areas. That way they spend more time in their constituencies doing what they promised the electorate instead spending all their time in lusaka. That way they will be more accoutable to the development of their constituencies instead of showing how hopeless they are on air.

    • BUFFOON Kambwili reminds of a noisy young Sata back in MMD and UNIP days, people like him are very loyal to their party and will take a bullet with no second thoughts hence the reason he couldn’t help himself but call in without thought and rant away like an ordinary cadre; in so doing he is leaving foolishly himself with no time to reply as a caller like he did with that Father Bwalya. If you remove him from the ministry position he will cause you more havoc in the backbench as a rebellious disgruntled MP. The only difference is Sata was no f**l!

  14. A spat is a to and forth argument. What you have is one chap (Kambwili) giving an account of facts as he sees them and the other (HH) disagreeing and stating his own facts and opinions. There wasn’t any engaging dialogue and to be fair to Kambwili, he should have been given a chance to rebut HH’s responses which I believe also contained more than a few factual errors. Terrible recording and management of the interview. And the interview should have limited the number of questions for a proper response from HH and if necessary follow up questions from the audience. I won’t give anything to HH on this one as his responses were not properly interrogated,

    • What do you mean “to be fair to Kambwili”? Was any other caller given a chance to rebut HH’s responses? What you should be asking for is a debate. But as you and I know PF backed out of the debates during the run-up to the presidential elections. I guess you understand why.

  15. Kambwili just removed any chances of ever running for presidency. Biblical principal for both Kambwili and HH. Don’t argue with a fool, for those afar will not tell the difference.

P.S I forgot one or both of them are afraid of reading the bible.

  16. My Pretty sistren with the ugly rejoinder, kindly note that the title of the article reads: “HH and Kambwili Spat on Let The People Talk Radio Phoenix interview”. Hence my comments

  17. At last many are now seeing what UPND under hh is. It is nothing but a party reduced to grade 12 commerce if not text book economics which do not work. Hakainde, please just to say you shall employ good economic management systems is not enough. Be specific, generalizations do not work. I listened from your interview at Radio phoenix. Two callers asked you what three things you would do in the immediate to control the kwacha, load shading and falling international commodities. you clearly were put off your usual text book solutions. You failed to give specific answers meaning that you are but just politicking as Hon Kambwili told you. All your statements are mere grade 12 commerce about how to run a good government. under 5 grow. Grade 12 commerce does not anticipate commodity price shocks

    • @The Game, HH didn’t give specific answers in order to get the “think tanks” in PF to brainstorm. You honestly don’t expect him to go in details and say “do this and that”. That was deliberate. My opinion though is that I THINK it has to do with the “Me too” syndrome. Mind you, it is MY opinion.

As for “kariba dam drying” refer to Guy Scott’s Contribution on President Lungu’s Speech in Parliament. A reason why they don’t teach “kariba dam drying” in commerce could be that the engineering school covers the issue.
HH is just offering “checks and balances” what others call positive criticism.

  18. CONTD
kariba dam drying and death of a sitting president. This idea of always criticizing will not take you anywhere ba u5. Mazoka produced his alternative budget immediately MMD produced theirs meaning that Mazoka was at tandem with economic realities not to be guided by MMD statements or simply put plagiarize. We are tired of this self proclaimed economic manager who has never been tried with government programs.

  19. Those in support of unclear policies without a tested framework to deal with economic solutions think HH is a solution. Far from it. All HH wants is to be the first Tonga president that all. Not to solve country problems. HH very well knows that his solutions are grade 12 commerce or text book economics which do not work. But all he wants is to be president from Southern Province so as to beat the failures of Nkumbula and Mazoka. Surely this is not in the interest of Zambia but one self aggrandizing person. Kambwili asked him specific issues as to what three things he could do to solve current problems confronting Zambians load shading, kwacha fall and commodity price fall. Typical of him he said Kambwili was dull. This is the problem. Where does hh pick it from that he is the most…

  20. Kambwili has better leadership qualities than the tribal leader…….. in my honest view! After Lungus tenure of office,i have a feeling the man will also one day rule this country.

  21. In 2016 we do not want job on training. Some one specialized in herding cattle to continue and for one to aspire for presidency, you should have served as a Councillor,Minister or at least worked in govt before.

  22. WAS THIS PROGRAM/INTERVIEW CONDUCTED IN A PRODUCTION PLANT OR PUB? THERE’S SIMPLY TOO MUCH NOISE AND POOR RECEPTION. CAN’T THERE BE HIGH STANDARDS IN THE WAY INTERVIEWS ARE PRESENTED. PEOPLE ARE TALKING AND THINGS SQUEAKING ALLOVER THE PLACE. HH WAS VERY WRONG TO SAY THERE IS NO POWER DEMAND IN ZAMBIA BUT SA. HH IS A BITTER GUY THAT IS WHY HE’S BLIND TO ZAMBIA’S DEMAND FOR POWER.

  23. @Peter, The RECORDING was conducted in a noisy place most likely at “ZedCorners offices”. I will try to comment on your statement about what I THINK HH meant when there is no power demand in Zambia in comparison to RSA. RSA has a lot more industries than Zambia. Zambia literally imports almost everything including vegetables from RSA. The industries in RSA are busy working to catch up with the demand on exports to countries like Zambia. Zambia’s load shedding has not been caused by power demands from industries. If you read Guy Scott’s Contribution on President Lungu’s Speech in Parliament you will find out why Zambia has load shedding.

    • The following sentence should read “I will try to comment on your statement about what I THINK HH meant whenHE SAID there is no power demand in Zambia in comparison to RSA.

  24. It is true that SA has more industries and the demand for power is higher than that of Zambia but it is also true that the unprecedented construction around the country has strained on the ZESCO supply. What ZESCO or PF should be addressing is increasing the capacity of supply to match the boom… well this long term…One cannot ignore the boom in construction and that is the reason Dangote has opened a cement factory but politicians are ignoring this and HH said the reason for loadsheading is putting cadres at ZESCO, my foot…nature has also taken its course and dried the dam…unless HH and family will tundila in the dam loadshedding will continue till come rain oh….All i heard from HH is political rhetoric….even using words like when we come into power…not with that myopic view…

  25. Correction: It is true that SA has more industries and the demand for power is higher than that of Zambia but it is also true that the unprecedented construction around the country has strained the ZESCO supply.
Oanda reports that $1 = 10 Pula; $1 = SAR 13; $1 = Ksh 101; $1 = Ush 3600. I wonder why HH chooses to ignore these trends in performance of global currencies…well the truth is that ZMW is the worst performing but to ignore the fact that all other currencies are affected by the Dollar appreciating tells me HH is lying…I was in East Africa in August 2015, the Kenya Shilling was around Ksh 88 to $1 but look at where it is currently…why ignore the fact that Obama has worked on strengthening the Dollar and this has had ripple effects globally…this is not to say we shouldn’t…

  26. shooooo is this how poor radio still is in Zambia?? whats with all the crap background noise? C’mon now its not a train smash to improve sound quality on radio at minimal cost.

That said HH has always delivered when it comes facts. Kambwili could not even get one simple fact right,$1 to R5 was not the case even five years ago yet he says six months ago, what nonsense!!

  27. Game, it seems you have better answers and analysis of the issues which you are saying grade 12 commerce and text book economics !!!!! To me you sound like you have issues with tribalism and hatred. MY COMMENT IS HH WAS EXCELLENT WITH HIS ANSWERS AND THEY WERE BRILLIANT, HE KNOWS HIS ECONOMICS VERY WELL, HE WAS CALM, PATIENT, AND COOL. HH IS KNOWLEDGIBLE AND HE IS NOT A MATCH TO KAMBWILI.

  28. Excellent response from HH and KAMBWILI was put in his rightful place . This is the best of HH, HE IS VERY CONFIDENT AND KNOWLEDGIBLE, HE IS NOW STUDYING PHD IN ECONOMICS. HIS LEVEL IS TOO HIGH I SALUTE HIM
