The house of the murder accused demolished where the five year old boy was thrown into the well

An eight year-old boy narrated in the Kitwe High Court how his mother allegedly strangled to death his five- year-old friend and later dumped the body in a well in a suspected ritual killing.

The boy testified how his mother allegedly murdered his friend by putting a pillow on his dead until he became unconscious before throwing the body in the well.

He was testifying in the case in which Moria Kapasa and Isaac Futi both of Chikola Township in Chingola are accused of murdering Ben Muleya on June 11, this year.

The boy’s death sparked riots in Chingola as residents suspected the action to have been a ritual killing.

The witness told High Court Judge Timothy Katenekwa, that on the fateful day around 19:00 hours, he was sent by his mother Ms Kapasa to go and call his friend from his house.

The court heard that when the friend appeared, his mother asked him to take him into her bedroom where she asked him to lie down and later covered his head with a pillow and sat on him.

“My mother put a pillow on my friend’s head, sat on him while he was struggling to free himself and after he stopped moving, she picked the body and threw it in the well outside the house,” he narrated.

And the deceased boy’s mother Susan Muleya told the court that on the fateful day, her son refused to eat Nshima and later went outside.

Ms Muleya explained that her son was nowhere to be seen when she went to check on him within the premises until her cousin informed her that she saw the boy going to Kapasa’s house.

The court heard that when asked if Ben was at her house, Kapasa refused and that was how a search was conducted until the accused’s son informed Ms Muleya that her son was thrown into the well by his mother.

The body was retrieved the following day and the matter reported to the police.

Hearing continues.

Kekekekekeke, that was commissioner Malcom Mulenga! That was not a nice comment/joke at all! But that was M. C. Sata for you. A comedian, politician, revolutionist, husband, father and common man. He was a diversy man with a political acumen of a giant. He came into power believing he could change the shape, structure, governance and politics of Zambia. He understood what the common man on the street craved. If he was here today, he would still carry on believing that Zambia can be developed and moved to greater heights. Rest in peace ba Sata wesu!

You have obviously not understood HH statement. He said he learnt a lot (here HH gives an example of grassroots politics) BUT I quote "We did not agree with the late Michael Sata in IDEOLOGY AND PRINCIPLE, but that is how democracy must operate and it should not take away the fact that he was a politician in his own class". Putting it in a layman's language HH does not do "POLITICS OF THE BELLY". I hope you understand this better, if not call me.

Also remember how he did not like bald headed people like Nevers Mumba. Even John phiri started keeping hair. Some bald PF SENIORS even started buying wigs.
    • Mundetele
That emanated from his belief that if a man cannot keep his hair, how can he keep people. The relationship between hair and people was totally amiss to me. Sometimes it was pure comedy like warning all of us never to cut Hon. Fackson Shamenda's first name!

hh is the last man to say any thing good about sata ,because he is happy that sata died, he wished him death several times even before he died not only that he called him all sots of names such as chimbwi no plan. however this ten dance by Zambians to appreciating people when they dead should come to end

@john, leave HH alone. It is not your place to judge others. After all you yourself sound as though you dislike HH. Sata, to your selective memory, was one of those who gave names to others. Nasty names. MHSRIP It is not only Zambian who " appreciate people whey they die". For your info, there is a saying "do not speak ill of the dead". Check it out it's meaning.

It is a wonder why HH is in the forefront whenever there is any event to do with Death. Ask him about Prayer he is nowhere to be seen - Just thinking aloud

What kind of an evil person can do this to someone's child? We thank God for his 8 year old friend who told the story as it were. That child was God sent indeed! Condolences to the Muleya family. Have I missed something here? All you guy's comments are completely about a story not even related to what is happening on this page? Are you telling me that when you were reading the happening on this page, what came to your mind was only HH and our late former President? Shame on all of you.

No I suspect LT have confused the situation. They may have taken these posts from another story altogether. Ba LT sort this mess out

Imwe ba LT whether you give a warning or you don't doesnt matter: respected media all over the world never show pictures of dead bodies!! What do you gain or prove by showing your readers the picture of a dead body? Don't you have professional ethics? Or are most of you Zambian media just operating for the sake of it? Its blunders like this that make you vulnerable to controls from draconian ruling parties.
