Mighty rise to 5th place after crushing Nchanga

Share

Mighty Mufulira Wanderers moved into 5th place after a 2-0 home win over ailing Nchanga Rangers at Shinde Stadium in Mufulira.

The defeat was Nchanga’s eighth away loss and the Chingola side is now winless on the road since the start of the 2015 season from 14 games played.

And the win was also sweet revenge for Mighty who lost 3-0 away at Nchanga in the first leg.

Meanwhile, both goals came in the second period after a poor first half that saw Wanderers defender Allan Kamwanga Jnr fire his 22nd minute shot into the side-netting.

Chella Siame then dispatched wide his effort from an acute angle in the 32nd minute and four minutes later the giant striker flattened Wanderers goalkeeper Noah Mwanza when he failed to hit the ball on the first chance in a one-on-one situation only to earn himself a yellow card for his misdeed.

The deadlock was broken in the 56th minute when Taonga Bwembya fired in a trademark free kick before Jacob Ngulube hammered in the ball from close range in the 84th minute to send Nchanga packing back to Chingola.

Wanderers jump from 7th to 5th in their first season back in the FAZ Super League since 2005 while Nchanga are 11th on 30 points with two games left to play.

Recently I was in Africa and had the opportunity to watch a Zambian match on Supersport. It was Nakambala Vs Mufulira Wanderers.
Listening to the commentators was embarrassing.I really missed Dennis Liwewe. I hope the audience across the continent knew what the commentators meant by:
“Mighty, playing at home with the whole of Africa in view…”
“A chance!Good header. .and the goalkeeper had it coming..He saves…”
“Mike Katiba, with a flat dry shot….”
“He went down..He was worked upon and he came back on the pitch…”
“Mighty had 48 percent of possession the last 10 minutes and generally in charge of 32….”
“And Mighty now pushing the issue!….”
“Both players that have come will push the issue…”
“And referee Mr Wellington Kaoma says enough is enough…

  2. Mighty! Iwine cunguloooo! Koma my friend Gambling Age noone can compare to Liwewe. These little boys who pretend to commentate should take a few tapes from ZNBC archives and then try and imitate Dennis. Chizungu should be studied before someone opens his mouth otherwise he will be speaking nonsense

  3. Comment: You have done me proud Bamighty. Lets keep on pushing until we get where we belong. Don’t get over excited because the game has just begun.

  4. How is the Division 1 south league table standing? Of course we know Kabwe Worriors are the champions, but we don’t know who is in 2nd, 3rd 4th and last position! There is more publicity on the Division 1 North results and tables than for the South… Anyone with data???
