THE United Party for National Development (UPND) is being provocative, unreasonable and uncouth in their continued attacks and slander of President Edgar Lungu and Zambians will teach them a lesson in the 2016 general elections, Mandevu Patriotic Front (PF) member of Parliament Jean Kapata has charged.

Ms Kapata said it was shocking that while President Lungu and the PF had continued preaching peace, unity, harmony and reconciliation, the UPND had continued with their politics of bitterness, malice and slander.

She said President Lungu was too decent a leader to engage in hegemonic politics recalling that the Head of State was on record that he did not want his hands to be soiled with political blood.

Ms Kapata who is Tourism and Arts Minister said President Lungu had on countless times preached civil politics and that assertions that the Head of State would kill to win the 2016 general elections were extremely provocative.

She told the Daily Nation that President Lungu won the January presidential election at a time when the opposition political parties and some members of the ruling party had ganged against the Head of State in a bid to remove the ruling party from power.

On Wednesday, UPND special advisor to the president Douglas Syakalima claimed that if President Lungu was ready to spend money to win the general elections next year, then he was equally ready to kill to retain the presidency.

“The UPND has always been provocative in their politics but we understand because they are bitter after their leader failed to win the presidency for the ampteeth time. The UPND started campaigning long before president Sata died and when a presidential election was announced, they were beaming with glee to the prospects of dislodging the PF from government. What they did not know that God had destined President Lungu…and let them know that the President is too decent a leader to engage in less than civil politics,” Ms Kapata said.

She said the UPND celebrated when there was a presidential election following the death of president Michael Sata because their desire was to have the PF be the only political party in the history of the country to have governed the country for only three years.

Ms Kapata said during the transition, the PF was deeply divided and was at its weakest point but God through Zambians had destined President Lungu to take over from late president Sata.

She stated that the UPND had failed to defeat the PF at the time the ruling party was going through internal turbulences and it was going to be extremely difficult for the opposition political party to be a threat to the PF victory next year.

“The UPND is particularly popular on social media and especially on one online publication and they are being misled that they can win an election. The situation on the ground is very different because not so many Zambians have time for social media. In Mandevu Constituency, how many people can find time to be on social media? We are going to campaign aggressively now that we are solidly in control. So let them continue campaigning on social media and we are going to be on the ground meeting and interacting with real people,” Ms Kapata said.

  1. I have no words to describe this woman. I have a lot of respect for women. But PF winning next year will only happen over her dead body.

    • No Ms. Kapata. It’s the other way round. Your party is dead and no sane Zambian wants to associate with it beyond 2016! Viva HH, Viva UPND.

    • This P00R F00L is really just a hopeless CHINAMA CASE!

Ms Kapata, in case you brain is severely malfunctioning, can I remind you that your job as a Government is NOT to waste your time trying to teach UPND lessons, but to PROVE that you are capable of running the country. You have obviously not LEARNED THAT LESSON YOURSELVES!

Show us we have not misplaced our trust in you and your PF by resuscitating the economy, fixing the loadshedding and reviving the Kwacha instead of behaving like spoiled children that have had their toys taken away from them.

Actions, not useless words, are what counts!

  2. Point of correction. People have a lot of time to spend on social media otherwise the president himself wouldn’t be using facebook to communicate to his facebook followers. It’s not about lack of time for the majority but internett is inaccessible for the majority. Had it been accesible you yourself would be history.
Opposition leaders are intimidated when they are out mingling with people so the only source of disemminating info is social media as ZNBC and media houses are no go areas for them.

  3. Dear Mr Kapata (Oh, no sorry, Ms Kapata) thank you for your warning. As minister (sir..oh sorry again, madam) you enjoy all the privileges and benefits of 3 meals a day, a big car and house free petrol or diesel and all things paid for; and you appear not to see what is really on the ground. It is possible that PF will win next year BUT it will certainly NOT be because Zambians want to teach UPND a lesson but more because PF has vowed to stay in power at all costs your honor…sorry your…)

  4. Who is being provocative, isn’t it this bitch? In case she has forgotten, the UPND have never been provocative; all they do is react to the attacks directed at them by PF thugs like this same woman. If UPND reminds you of the unfulfilled promises you made to the people, are those attacks? Besides, Edgar has never been a humble person. Jean Kapata is talking as though Zambians don’t read or have no ears. She is a cadre anyway and she has to sing the loudest to defend her master lest she is not adopted in 2016. She is a very unprincipled woman who thrives on stealing from the poor. These PF thugs have amassed so much wealth at the expense of the common Zambians. We will see whether what this idiowt is saying about them winning in 2016 will come to pass.

  5. MM, your hh would only win over her dead body, not the other way round. January 2015 was given to you on a silver platter, but alas, my people in Luapula said no. It will still be NO next year. so please, brace yourselves for that.

    • YOU SEEM TO BE LIVING IN DREAMLAND. LUAPULA IS CHANGING. PEOPLE IN MANSA AND SAMFYA ARE SAYING “WE ARE FOR CHANGE” BECAUSE OF THE SUFFERING THE PF HAS BROUGHT ABOUT.
IN MY VIEW YOU DO NOT SEEM TO LIKE YOUR PEOPLE IN LUAPULA AS YOU WANT THEM TO CONTINUE TO SUFFER UNDER PF. YOU DON’T SEEM TO HAVE COMPASSION FOR THEM. THEIR SUFFERING IS YOUR JOY. WHAT A SADIST YOU ARE!

    • What a genius you are. Please teach us more. So that all of of Tongas should learn since HaGBM, HaNalumango, HaCanicius HaBanda, Hamuyenga, HaMucheleka, Hamutati etc can learn.

    • Kayombo….. it is a real let down that a presumably educated person like you is parroting the words of the much less educated. How about some creativity on your part? by the way you are right no party from one region can win elections in Zambia because such a party does not exist……thank you.

  6. @Mr Luapula Premier
You have weakened your contribution by being hyperbolic with numbers. Sure enough PF may be popular outside computer and chat rooms; but to believe that UPND would only garner 3% of the Zambian vote in a fair election is, to say the least self-deceiving considering the close call that PF survived through hook or crook on January 20th 2015.

    • Zambians like suffering and Lungu already has them in his palm with assurance that the prayers he ordered will make God give favor to the country. I am not inspired by the Zambian voters who do not wish for better for themselves in the choices they make!

  7. Interesting how a prostitute can stand talk against unfaithful husbands! She is in the forefront disturbing the peace of Zambians and now accusing others! Shame

  8. What a lesson are you going to teach UPNDP when the boat is sinking. Food prices are increasing everyday and the price of fertilizer is now selling at K450.00 per bag, what would you expect the price of 25kg of breakfast in 2016? You are jokers and learn from RB how he cried. Atleast RB and MMD tried by not touching food items. Your turn is coming fast than expected. HH 2016

  9. Ms Jean Kapata, you forgot the bit about Pangas at a certain convention and election by acclamation or “raising of pangas” as someone put it.

  10. And this is what the armchair critics who we have shown technology have failed to see all these years. Do you honestly think Zambians are foolish to allow members of one family to to rule them? ITS A BIG NO! All UPND MPS and their leader are Tongas and probably from the same village, do they think Zambians are docile?
A curse was spelt on this party when it openly said that UPND is for Tongas and Tongas only so let it be. Even GBM, you can see he is an orphan in that club, they dont like him at all.
This aside, we are very happy that even with minor and temporal challenges we have now, our President EDGAR CHAGWA LUNGU IS VERY FOCUSED AND COMMITTED TO DEVELOPMENT OF MOTHER ZAMBIA. We know some people wont see this but 80% of us are very happy with the PF Government under the leadership…

  11. Ki Musali wa mwalififi Luli. Mind you Miles has just resigned without giving reasons. Keep dreaming You Prostitute while the BOAT Z sinking. This should ring a bell for you. Wait and see the re-Borne of PF UNDER SENIOR PF members

  12. Honorable Jean Kapata, my Minister, my MP, a hard worker and dedicated patriot of Zambia. Honorable JK, lets transform Mandevu in particular and Zambia in general, after all we all know that you are a very capable mother and thats why UPND are having diarrhea.
What we want is just development and not the rhetoric from frustrated Under 5 and sponsors. What is Nawakwi doing on the Copperbelt when she heard that H.E. was going there? Is this hypocrisy of highest order? When President Lungu tells them that he is far far ahead of them, that when they work up from slumber and start barking. Anyway we know who is who in politics yapa ZED!!!

    • Im not a political cadre, but I feel duty bound to contribute as a citizen. In the whole southern region, Zambia is the worst affected economy. Like some bloggers have pointed out, those who are currently privileged to have connections within PF are not seeing the suffering people are going through, for them anyone complaining is just bitter, frustrated and a sympathiser of UPND. To our PF brothers and sisters, be real to the situation, there is no need of pretending that the economy is doing fine when on the ground things are terribly bad. Lets not be intellectual cowards.

  13. Now let’s count the comments above and see which party is popular in the online media with supporters who are non voters.

  14. Most Zambians tend to be myopic and lack critical analysis of a situation. To be honest with, only those that are not so much exposed to economic statistical data would be easily swayed to vote for a government that thinks has solutions to every problem. This is the problem with the opposition parties. Our country is experiencing economic instability because of other factors other than leadership crisis. Nearly every country is going through similar situations. Look at exchange rates of other countries especially our neighbours, check inflation rate, interest rates… Zambia is not an island. The economic turbulence sweeping across China would not spare countries like ours despite being declared as a Christian-nation. Therefore, those that are privileged and have an upper hand…

  15. many people still want ECL to continue despite the challenging economy coz they understand its global factors that are affecting our economy, i heard some say “the devil u know is better than the angel u don’t know” i for one am not convinced that ECL has failed all that he needs is enough time, u cant evaluate a president in eight months and say he has failed, unless u are naive. failure has to do with a given mandate, for ECL there is no defined mandate now, his true mandate will start in 2016 up to 2021 then u evaluators u can assess him whether he failed or succeeded otherwise we have no option as Zambians but to vote for him again in 2016. All of us who voted for ECL should mobilize ourselves and complete what we started. ECL is people’s president and we have a mission to…

  16. UFO, how do you know about the diarrhoea of UPND supporters, do you go checking into other peoples pants to check for diarrhoea, more likely the stink will come from your own pants.

  17. Ba Jeanie. You have just put it straight! Thumbs up. Costa tried to sell the man. But malonda yanakanga. Who will vote for a person who can not pray. Lungu na futi. We will forever be there to see to it that he gets it. Lord bless chagwa

  18. @K Bwalya, Tanzania has been experiencing severe blackouts compared to Zambia.Their Shilling has tumbled beyond redemption and the cost of living in Tanzania has skyrocketed alarmingly. The oppositjon were as mypic.as UPND and lost the Polls Lamentably. So,UNPD shouldnt bank on this economic crisis, bcos it will not help them win elections next year!

  19. Many zambians will vote for UPND. PF is increasingly becoming weak and by 2016, there will only be a skeleton of supporters.

  20. NO BIG HEAD, YOU THE PF WILL BE TAUGHT A LESSON WITH ALL YOUR CORRUPT VOTE BUYING ETC, YOU SAY THE PEOPLE OF ZAMBIA WILL TEACH UPND A LESSON, ARE WE UPND SUPPORTERS NOT ZAMBIANS? READ THE HISTORY OF ZAMBIA CAREFULLY AND IF YOU ARE BEMBA, YOU PROBABLY CAME FROM CONGO;

  21. Thank God for nega nega formula – this formula ensures that electorates countrywide (not just southern province) vote on tribal grounds. With their invention, UPND will be taught a lesson of a life time. Thank God for nega nega formula.

  22. KAPATA AND LUO LOOK ALIKE. ONE IS YOUNGER AND THE OTHER IS OLDER THAT IS THE DEFERENCE.
SOMEONE ONCE ME SAME OR DIFFERENT?
CHIWAMINA GALU KULUMA MBUZI. WHEN LUNGU SAID UMWAICE NGA ATUMPA BALAMUMA, WHAT DID HE MEAN?

  23. Its good that we enjoying our freedom of expression but that does not mean we should insult. Furthermore your thoughts and hate for others does not represent the feeling of everyone. Its good that we are feeling how easy life has become.

  24. Ceasar Ceasar..beware of the ides of march..Leave her alone she’s a dreamer. Had an interesting political philosophy chat today with a senior PF cadre in town who has never heard of Karl Marx and Frederick Engels.

  25. Mama, Its better you shut up. How may Zambian who are suffering even famers in the village are fade up with you pf. Doller is going up every day, bread at k10 and employment crysis is hunging,

  26. We have an uneducated woman with no shame preaching to us. If she can stand up and admit she has no qualification nor a single skill in the position she has then we might give her two minutes of our time. But as long as she keeps going back to what might have worked in the 60’s and stealing data saying wildlife populations have risen when it’s a lie, we have lost all faith and respect for her. Traveling, staying in hotels and shopping abroad is all they know. Sorry that does not qualify as a job requirement Ms. Jean Kapata.

  27. Me and my household are now newly labled for a God given humbled leader HH and not these pf00ls hypocrites, sangoma, satanists, nfuko nfuko or sory meno meno but l meant vodger lungu chagwesa economy putting on Jeans Ka-pant.. And for you Jeans Ka-pant its better you just shut your whole coz never wil you be a polical factor and your so called poor family(pf). For your own lnfo country men & women, l’ve already started campagning for my Presdo HH until 2016 and beyond in parts of CB. lf it means using our own funds wil keep on doing just like that. Enough is really enough, just watch this space.

  28. Comment:please dm stop compairing yo home to that of yo friend.mind yo own fish and stop joking,pf has failed infact 2016 is very far.we want change! can’t edgar resign?

  29. Madam Kapata, do not be economical with the truth. Which leaders have been provocative, those with pandas and pistols or those who are armless? Who is your Secretary General is he not the man shooter? And what has the government done? Who is provoking the other? Next year we will use our brains not anyhow.
