  1. That is sad, but we are genuinely supporting orphans from 1998. Let one person destroy the image of those who are doing well like our organisation. Our first child in our organisation is now pursuing a degree in science.

  2. This will destroy the good work of these institutions…but unfortunately it is true and as long as we have no structures in place to monitor our activities everything will be KANTEMBA just as our politics are….look at the quality of opposition parties in zambia….look at Nursery schools in compounds…its a sad situation in our country……so all our institutions are heading to KANTEMBA a as the GRZ has failed.

  3. Those doing that are grown-up ophans so let them help themselves do not be jelous dona funds are limit less even african gvnts get dona funds to fil their pockets my advice to u open an ophanage and live in comfot u fo ol

  4. Do you have evidence that the money was donated? This attitude in Zambia that people in Western countries are so concerned about your suffering and they want to work so they can give their earnings to you is wrong. Such thinking will not take you anywhere. First find out if money was given and how much was given, otherwise just work hard as a country and think about innovative ways to come out of poverty. Relying on donor funds is unsustainable.

  5. So true. There was a women prisons project in Zambia where orphans taken in by caretakers were doing exactly that. Women in prison had their children being taken care of by members of an NGO. Some people managing these NGO’s were sent abroad to the US/Canada in order to training them by developed countries. Upon leaving each individual was given money for the children they were taking care of so they could buy clothes, medicine, school supply etc. I witnessed several who pocketed every penny and never even bought one underwear for the children. This is wrong and unacceptable behaviour.

  6. It’s sad but don’t generalise as if all NGOs receive money on the pretext of helping vulnerable orphans. The presenter should have said “some NGOs” . And Family Legacy has its own workers who are American, am wondering how they still.?
