    • If Edgar watches this footage, he’ll replace Dora at the Ministry of Energy. Very intelligent and well informed clip. Thanks LT.

    • It’s a pity he’s growing up in Zambia. In the developed world, he would have been on a scholarship attending some of the best science universities, e.g., Imperial College (London), Cambridge or Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

  1. Very good and artistic with words, I like the part where he explains the relation between water and electricity. He artistically put it like this, yes my translation …Water and Electricity can not make a deal here because that deal has already been made at Kariba Dam.., you got to be Nyanja to appreciate the beauty of such oratory skills exhibited by this boy, simply artistic and pure genius

  2. And someone thought introducing local language based education would do us a disservice. Umwaice atulanga maka maka ba some of us who are regurgitating professors. Challenge to unza engineering departments. Write a scientific journal paper for EIZ in a local language. I hope the white mans education system doesnt get to this boy and kills his creativity. We have lost a good number of brilliant sons and daughters to the misnomer we call education, western education.

  3. Brilliant young man. He should be registered with the JET club. I pray he becomes an engineer in future because he is a natural.

  4. I REALLY DON’T KNOW WHY THE OTHER MAN (NOT IN VIEW) IS LAUGHING. THIS INTELLIGENT BOY IS PROPOUNDING PHYSICS PRINCIPALS IN A LANGUAGE MOST PEOPLE CAN UNDERSTAND. EVE ASEKA. THE BOY IS A GENIUS BOTH AT LANGUAGE USAGE AND (AT HIS LEVEL), PHYSICS PRINCIPLES IN THE CONTEXT OF THE FLOW OF ELECTRONS AND THAT PRODUCE ELECTRICAL POWER THAT IS TRANSFORMED INTO VARIOUS TYPES OF ENERGIES SUCH AS LIGHT (ENERGY), HEAT (ENERGY), AND MANY MORE. LISTEN TO THIS BOY. HE IS SIMPLY A GENIUS. IF IT IS HERE WHERE THEY IDENTIFY TALENT, THE BOY COULD BE SPONSORED BY THE GOVERNMENT FOR HIGHER EDUCATION WITHOUT EVEN WASTING TIME. UNFORTUNATELY, THE BOY IS IN ZAMBIA. ANYHOW CAN SOMEONE IN AUTHORITY DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS TALENTED BOY?

    • I too was left perplexed as to why someone would be laughing as the boy exhibited his genius! In some countries such talent when identified is placed under specialized schooling to realize the potential being exhibited. Since government has no policy relating to exceptional intelligence, it is known fact that there are some good people in Zambia who could help such talent grow by offering scholarships being suggested but the Zambian climate as it is would probably politicize it all. We have been made aware that HH and Given Lubinda through his daughter have been supporting non relations with education, what would they and others doing the same think of it if approached? ZESCO and mining companies could step in as a social responsibility. Whoever discovered this genius should not just…

    • contd……. leave it at this let them go a distance with a follow up and it would be a unique contribution to the boy’s future and nation.

  5. Thanks Prof Mwizenge, those who have been to school know that cultures and languages can be taken to extinction. Social science gives plenty of examples of languages that have died. Zambian languages will go extinct because our population is being encouraged to feel embarrassed about using them in so-called advanced subjects. We are told that It is primitive to use Zambian languages. We are now doing everything in English.
However, there is no language on earth that cannot be adapted for any subject. When Mwalimu Nyerere introduced Swahili as a medium we all know what he was told
“Algebra, Geometry in Swahili? Hahahaha!” was the reaction from those with inferiority complexes. Nyerere persevered and presently they teach Biology, Trigonometry, even IT in Swahili.
    However, because of…

  6. However, because of many such inferiority complexes in neighbours like Zambia, Tanzania could switch back to English. These neighbours feel Tanzanians cant compete globally because they speak only Swahili. Its a lie. Russians compete globally, Italians compete globally, Japanese compete, Chinese compete, why cant an African compete in his language?
Here in Southern Africa about 3 million people speak Afrikaans a language which is younger than ChiNyanja, ChiBemba SiLozi Kaonde, Lingala, Tumbuka and JiTonga. The language is still being used in schools from Grade 1 to Tertiary. It is called Afrikaans.

  8. Impressive. I hope this boy goes to school. Simple and true. Basics of electricity implemented. Am impressed he managed to practically step up 1.5 to 12 volts.

  9. American colleges would be scrambling to offer him scholarships by now. It’s unfortunate Zambia has no place for intelligent people. It’s “everyone for himself and God for us all”

  10. This boy is exlent, very few Zesco employees can do or explain what is involved in their fied. Thats why we have buildings being guted day in day out coz dunderheads are runnig zesco.
