PATRIOTIC Front (PF) secretary-general Davies Chama says the ruling party is poised to win the 2016 general elections because of the trust and confidence Zambians have in President Lungu’s leadership.

Mr Chama said no amount of magic or witchcraft can make the opposition, especially the United Party for National Development (UPND), win next year’s elections.
He said this in Lusaka Central when he received 90 members of the UPND, MMD and Rainbow Party, who defected to PF.

Mr Chama said the party leadership is happy that the PF is still winning support from the majority of Zambians and that it will win next year’s tripartite elections as the case was on January 20 this year.

“I am happy that today we are receiving about 71 people from UPND, 16 from the former ruling party MMD and three people from the Rainbow Party. What is happening is a symbol to show that the party is growing from strength to strength.

“We are winning next year’s general elections because of what this Government is doing for the people. We are working on roads, we are constructing hospitals and schools and this is what the people of Zambia want and not just mere politicking,” Mr Chama said.

He advised members to remain united and to work extra hard in recruiting new members ahead of the 2016 general elections.

Mr Chama said it is important for members to explain the PF policies to the electorate as outlined in the party manifesto.

“As far as we are concerned, we are well positioned to win the 2016 general elections because people have confidence in our governance system as well as development programmes,” he said.

Mr Chama reaffirmed the PF’s commitment to delivering on its campaign promises.

He also said PF is implementing programmes and development projects in various parts of the country as promised during campaigns.

Mr Chama also appealed to members to accommodate newcomers into the PF for the party to grow because politics is about numbers.

He also described President Lungu as the best leader the country has ever had and appealed to Zambians to continue supporting him.

    • Mr Chama, please, can you talk about fixing the economy and not always talking about winning elections. People voted for PF to lead the country into prosperity and not to position itself into winning future elections. Please, just fix the economy. Its government responsibility to find solutions to the struggling economy/currency.

    • Chama you are seem not seeing the suffering the majority Zambian. All you are concerned with is how your party will retain power hence asking for a vote from people with empty stomachs. PF all it spells is high cost of living.

  1. Chama. Chama chama chama chama. I fail to understand your reasoning whenever you speak. Urinating, Satan closes the taps….., Magic…., witchcraft… In any case, congrats “IF” you are growing as PF, otherwise, the economy and miners job losess will cost you something in next year’s general election

  2. “He also described President Lungu as the best leader the country has ever had and appealed to Zambians to continue supporting him”. Mr Chama, are you sure of this statement or you were misquoted! Is this comparison based on Loadsheding, inflation, Value of the kwacha, running of the education sector, job creation or what! Plz help us understand.

  3. Are these real defections or some stage-managed stunt? Any evidence, e.g. party membership cards, to support this claim? Anyway anything is possible with the unprincipled and hungry Zambians.

  4. Time is coming and fast coming for that matter, when one will believe that in politics any number is cardinal coz this whole game is about numbers. One can be declared a winner by being a head of his counterpart by just a single vote.

  5. all these stage managed defections do not make any sense at all…unlike the UNIP days when people were forced/compelled to buy membership cards…these days membership is either associated with showing a party symbol or wearing a party regalia…its difficult to tell who is a genuine member if he or she hasn’t any portfolio at any level….I await a day when David Cameron…Obama…or Putin shall be welcoming opposition members at a rally…Guys please stop these nonsense childish gestures…concentrate on revising policies which have let you down….

  6. Ba Chama ……….please you are a parent whose language should be that of a mature and respective member of the Zambian society. This kind of response is only expected to come from a person who spokes something with a green colour. Very shameful indeed when a friend of mine in the USA was asking me as to when I will start urinating in the Kariba dam………..surely is this acceptable in civilized societies? Where is PF finding the courage to insult the electorates?? People who are supposed to vote for you are being insulted day in and day out……..In a fair election and where you have very few F00Ls, you have no chance ba PF. I am now convinced that RB was better with his corruption and insults about NI ZIKO YANYOKO.
