Suspected Patriotic Front cadres this morning interrupted a radio programme on Breeze FM in Chipata which featured Rainbow Party leader Wynter Kabimba.

Mr Kabimba was a guest on the Political Hour radio programme but with only 10 minutes into the programme, the cadres started throwing stones forcing Mr. Kabimba to immediately abandon the programme and vacate the station.

He sped off with him team while other Rainbow party members who accompanied Mr. Kabimba and Breeze FM staff were forced to scamper for safety as the unruly cadres forced themselves into the station building.

Breeze FM management regretted the incident and disclosed that no member of staff or the Rainbow party officials was hurt in the incident.

Some Breeze FM staff who opted to remain anonymous revealed that the cadres were mostly from the MMD paid by a known MMD Member of Parliament who is serving in the PF government to disrupt the programme.

But in an interview shortly after the incident, Mr Kabimba said he will be back on Breeze FM this evening at 18 Hrs to 19 Hours to finish off the programme.

“The die is cast and there is no looking back until our people are set free from the jaws of oppression the struggle continues no amount of intimidation will stop us”, Mr Kabimba said.

  1. PF has become an abomination to our society. How long is Zambia going to continue on this path of self destruction? This country is being destroyed slowly by the PF lead government. Even if Edga wins the coming elections, if he continues with dictotarial tendencies as we are witnessing of recent times, then he will not enjoy his rule. Time will catch up with him and that will be a sad day. All dictators lose it at one point or the other, I have never seen such an insecure president as Edga. So this is the advice he got from Mugabe? He cant see how Mugabe has brought Zimbabwe to its knees? The world and investors are watching!

    • Its called Charma!! red lips Kabimba is the one who trained PF cadres to throw stones and bought them pangas,,, to kill oppostion!! today the same people he trained are after his blood!,, i hope kabimba can untrain these people

    • During the Press Comference, Lungu said that he as President of PF can order his cadres and Police to be “unruly” if provoked!

A head of state eulogising political violence!!

Stop Lungu and his madmen now!!!!

    • @Ndobo, I am sure you mean Karma, the Indian’s “amalibu”. Anyway, the MMD minister in PF are ka Vincent Mwale and Dora Siliya. But ku Chipata then is can only be Vincent, I didn’t know amwaiche ulya alitumpa naena kanshi.

    • @ Killiangk, What do you expect from someone who sees mugabe as his mentor? Just terror. The Zambian PF cadres are behaving like their friends in Zimbabwe ; the war veterans and zanu-pf youths.

    • Malabishi yeka yeka! PF does not own Zambia it is time these *****are challenged since they think other Zambian do not have the capacity to retaliate.

  2. We as Zambians tend to give politicians more credit than is due to them. It is disappointing to see the calibre of politicians both in ruling and opposition. What’s worse is that we live in a democratic society, meaning the low caliber of leadership is in actual fact a representitive of us. I however believe Zambia can offer better leadership than what we see both in ruling and opposition. It’s foolishness to think breaking private property will somehow make Wynter in popular. Police should use photos and cage the thugs stoning the station.

  3. What’s the problem. Wynter?
The chickens have come home to roost.
You laid a good foundation when you were SG.

    • So, this shows what Kabimba did was wrong! And you knew it at the time he did it that it was horrendous.

Should Edgar do the same wrong thing?

      Kabimba was not even president!

That is why I think there should be a separation between the party and the government. A lot of evil is being committed in government under the guise of the party.

  5. China, last week at Edgar’s press conference the world and investors heard for themselves from Edgar Chagwa Lungu that he does not and will never condone political violence whether from his party or from the opposition. They listened too when he said that he wants the police to operate independently and let the law take its course on culprits. Did you how the diplomats congratulated Edgar after the brief? They were surprised to hear it for themselves after being misled by some media houses. Those media were taken by surprise when Edgar called the press briefing, they thought that they would continue with their lies without defense. Caught napping, and remember the Presidential word carries weight with diplomats and investors and other world leaders, for the President speaks for the…

    • Terrible,,,,what is sad is that Edgar manages to hoodwink YOU, the citizen of Zambia.

Diplomats are interested in policy pronouncements that would benefit their countries. For omissions, they make their own investigations. Remember they have own attaches to do the digging for them. They know more than YOU get to know about anything. It is their companies that invest in Zambia and relying on Edgar to tell them about the mood of the country is irresponsible.

  6. Its hard to sympathize with some characters but unwarranted violence is not justifiable. He actually nurtured these thugs and during his time as SG of PF he saw nothing wrong with this primitive behaviour.

  7. Those media were taken by surprise when Edgar called the press briefing, they thought that they would continue with their lies without defense. Caught napping, and remember the Presidential word carries weight with diplomats and investors and other world leaders, for the President speaks for the people of Zambia, mall 14 million of them including the likes of Nawakwi, Hakainde, Kabimba and yes even Mmembe himself. You don’t agree? Well, just check who commits the country to international agreements, is it hakainde or Kabimba?By the way, did you see the Kwacha after the press briefing?

  8. WHY NOT WRITE UPND CADRES OR SUSPECTED POLITICAL CADRES THIS REPORT OR ACTION IS A PLANNED MOVE BY KABIMBA. HE WANTS TO SHOW THAT PF HAS NOTICED HIM TO BE OF ~ SOON NAWAKWI WILL BE DOING THE SAME. NB RADIO STATION OWNERS PLEASE WHEN SOMEONE PAYS IT DOES NOT MEAN NOW HE HAS TO INSULT/ TALK ABOUT PEOPLE /PARTIES ETC GIVE GUIDELINES OR STONING WILL NOT STOP. U LIKE MONEY MORE AND FORGET ABOUT THE IMPACT OF WHAT SOMEONE WILL SAY ON OTHERS. IF U TALK RUBBISH ON RADIO, THEN DONT COMPLAIN ITS YO OWN MAKING

  9. Kabimba Kabimba, you have been answered adequately by my colleagues above, untrained the cadres from the violence that you trained them for. It is difficult for Edgar to change overnight what you created over three and half years. Kabimba, what in the world can you speak against which you did not create yourself? Past news or Mmembe are just exposing you Kabimba, we have copies of their newspapers for record. Zambians know that Rainbow is just some party of unprincipled men and women backed by an equally very unprincipled newspaper and editor called the ugly name of Mmembe. No serious person gives Kabimba and Rainbow any chance at 2016.

    • You are as ugly and black thick like the stone throwing cadre in the picture.

Ever heard of Part Three of the Comstitution which guarantees fundamental human rights?

Stop this scheme on hooliganism and face the skyrocketing prices in household goods and soon to come fuel and electricity , power deficit, forex shortage, kaloba Eurobonds…..

    • Zambia’s violence is now ubiquitous as it’s nchekelako aka corruption culture.

There is no peace or unity….it’s daily insults , violence, theft, deception

  10. THIS IS A DISGRACE. PF IS SLOWLY ENCOURAGING ANARCHY AMONG ITS RANKS. THIS IS ALL IN ATTEMPT TO STIFLE DEMOCRATIC DISSENT. PF IS SHOWING MORE AND MORE DESPERATION WITH EACH PASSING DAY.. NO MATTER HOW HARD THEY TRY THE PEOPLE HAVE DECIDED “PF IS FIRED”!

  11. Kabimba the violence you famously cheered for as PF sec general is now coming back to haunt you. What goes around, comes around.

  12. PF has the right to behave like this. The country belongs to they. The ruling party controls the country, government, information flow. Keep it up guys. Democracy is alien to Africa. IT WAS IMPOSED BY THE COLONIAL MASTERS IN ORDER TO RULE THE NATIVES!!!

  13. I can’t believe that #Dillip Patel has the audacity to say what he has written. this guy need to be flushed out of Australia because he belongs to the ISIS kind of group with no regard for human life. As for PF the answer is to be removed from power since Lungu is not stopping his cadres. Where is mama Wina who was crying in parliament that her house had been attacked? Kabimba may have created these thugs but there’s no need for these kind of barbaric acts in modern Zambia.

  14. Whenever people are in positions of power it’s always an opportunity for them to change the way politics is done in Zambia but no, they instead simply inherit all the wrong things their predecessors user to do when they have a challenge make things right. Now that he’s in the opposition he’s experiencing what he ahead an opportunity to stop. All the best to him as he campaigns.

  15. I did not know that Chipata is a total village , I can see Mazabuka is far much better than this ka village! what are you fighting for sure their in the bush?

    • Mazabuka and Southern Province is the most developed province outside Lusaka and Copperbelt due to the line of rail, tarred road, commercial farms, lake Kariba, Vic falls, tourism, kachema activities, hydro power plants, sugar plantations and revered education institutions and harnessed arable land.

The province has benefitted from partnership with Bemba speaking people and recently Somalis to market it’s vast agriculture produce.

  16. @peacemaker, you have not been to Chipata. Chipata is nice and developed small town. The area you’re seeing is not the main area of Chipata.

  17. May be my eyes are not alright. I cannot see any stone throwing cadres in the picture. Can you please show us some proof of what you write you guys.

  18. Aba bantu bawelewele bonse fyeba opposition. Fyungwa filipo na ngwiiiiii..
They are still in the phoo reporting age…..not movies. The upnd reporters are all ancient….and they believe Zambians will believe them. The picture shows people running away from the rain.
Nabo ati naba reporer ifya chine. They must know tha even the Queen of England is inthe movie age digital age. Useless, pathetic and very dull upnd reporters….As dull as hh himself…
